Using Confluence with AI Companion and Zoom Virtual Agent
AI Companion allows you to interact with Confluence directly from the AI Companion panel, eliminating the need to switch between applications. You can create, update, and extract information from Confluence documents using natural language commands. Additionally, admins can connect Confluenceto Zoom Virtual Agent via the Zoom web portal, enabling voice or chat agents to access supported tools.
You can also use Confluence with Zoom Chat.

Limitations
- Administrative changes to Confluence cannot be made through AI Companion
- Confluence plugin and extension features are not supported
- The full Confluence interface is not replicated within the AIC Panel

How to connect Confluence with AI Companion
- Sign in to the Zoom desktop app.
- Click the Home tab or click the AI Companion icon
from your active tab. - In the Write a message or type / for more field, click the add icon
. - Click the My Apps tab then Confluence.
Note: Authorizing the Confluence app allows AI Companion to access your Confluence folder, pages and content.
How to disconnect the Confluence app
- Sign in to the Zoom App Marketplace as an account admin or owner.
- In the top-right corner, click Manage.
- In the navigation menu, click Added apps, then Confluence.
- Click Connections.
- Click the ellipsis icon
, then Disconnect.
Note: Confluence app configuration data is deleted automatically when you remove the Confluence app from the Zoom App Marketplace.
How to use Confluence with AI Companion
Create Confluence documents
- Click the [+] menu in the AIC Panel.
- To create a new document, use one of these commands:
- Create a document with just a title: "Create a document [title]"
- Create a document with content: "Create a document [title] with the following content [content]"
Note: The document will be created in your default Confluence space.
Update Confluence documents
- Access the AIC Panel.
- Use these commands to modify existing documents:
- Change document title: "Change the name of [old title] to [new title]"
- Update document content: "Update the content of [document title] to [new content]"
- Add content: "Add the following content to [document title]: [content]"
Note: Changes made through AI Companion are saved immediately to your Confluence workspace.
Search and extract information
- Access the AIC Panel.
- Use these commands to find and extract information:
- Find documents: "Find me all documents with [keyword] in the title"
- View document content: "What is the content of [document title]"
- Get document summary: "Provide a summary of [document title]"
- Ask specific questions: "What is [specific information] in [document title]"
Note: Content extracts are limited to 300 characters. For longer content, you'll receive a link to view the full document in Confluence.
Summarize Confluence documents
- Access the AIC Panel.
- Use these commands to modify existing documents:
- Summarize document content: "Summarize the content of [document title]"
- (Optional) Add content: "Add the following paragraph to [document title]: [content]"
How to use Confluence in AI Companion on the Web personal workflows
Authorizing the Confluence app allows AI Companion to access your Confluence folder, pages, and content.
- Sign in to the Zoom web portal and navigate to AI Companion on the web.
- In the navigation menu, click Workflows.
- Under Workflows, click + Create.
- In the Search all nodes field, enter Confluence.
- Click Confluence.
When prompted, click Authenticate to log in to your Slack account. - Select from the available predefined nodes.

How to enable Zoom Virtual Agent Confluence integration
- Sign in to the Zoom web portal.
- In the navigation menu, click AI Studio then Integrations.
- In the Marketplace section, search for Confluence then click Connect.
A new tab will open to begin the authentication process.
- If you are already logged into Confluence, your credentials will not be requested.
- If you are not logged in, enter your Confluence credentials and submit them.
- When Confluence requests access to your account, click Accept, then Confirm to complete the connection.
- Once authentication is successful, the integration will appear on your Integrations page.
- In the navigation menu, click AI Studio then Integrations.
You will see the Confluence application with a Connected status.
How to reconnect the Confluence integration
When used in knowledge management or support channels, the integration may disconnect as a result of token expiry or authentication issues.
- Sign in to the Zoom web portal.
- In the navigation menu, click AI Studio then Integrations.
- In the upper right corner, click the four horizontal lines.
- In the Status column of the disconnected integration, click Re-connect.
You will be taken to the page where you can edit the integration details. - (Optional) Edit the integration details.
- Click Save.
A new tab will open to begin the authentication process.
- If you are already logged into Confluence, your credentials will not be requested.
- If you are not logged in, enter your Confluence credentials and submit them.
- In the navigation menu, click AI Studio then Integrations.
You will see the application with a Connected status.
How to use Confluence integration with ZVA voice or chat agents
- In the navigation menu, click AI Studio then Tool Templates.
- Click the Marketplace tab.
- Expand Confluence for Zoom to view the list of supported tools:
- Get Page By Id
- Create Page
- Update Page
- Get Child Pages
- Get Attachments
- Get Pages
- Create a voice or chat agent and use the desired Confluence tools accordingly.
How your data is used
Zoom's Confluence marketplace app allows Zoom Communications Inc. access to your Confluence folders, pages and content. To do so, you'll need to share Confluence permissions. The permissions you'll share with Zoom Communications Inc. include:
- Access Confluence content: Zoom Communications Inc. will have permission to access your Confluence Confluence folder, pages and content.
By authorizing this connection, the Confluence app maintains ongoing access to your information.
