Enabling or disabling the download option for uploaded files in whiteboard
Admins can enable or disable file downloads in whiteboards to control whether uploaded files can be downloaded by users in your account and/or external users, such as guests or collaborators. This feature provides additional privacy and security for sensitive or confidential information.
Requirements for enabling or disabling the option to download uploaded files in whiteboard
- Administrator privileges on the Zoom web portal
How to enable or disable the download option for uploaded files in whiteboard
Account
To enable or disable the download option for uploaded files for all users in the account:
- Sign in to the Zoom web portal as an administrator with the privilege to edit account settings.
- In the navigation menu, click Account Management then Account Settings.
- Click the Whiteboard tab.
- Under Other Settings, click the Allow users to download the uploaded files toggle to enable or disable it.
- If a verification dialog appears, click Enable or Disable to verify the change.
- When enabled, you have the option to specify who can download the uploaded files in the whiteboard.
- Select Anyone (users in your account and external users) to allow both users within your account and external users to download the uploaded files in the whiteboard.
- Select Only users in your account to allow only users who belong to your account to download the uploaded files in the whiteboard.
- Click Save.
- (Optional) To prevent all users in your account from changing these settings, click the lock icon
, and then click Lock to confirm the setting.
Group
To enable or disable the download option for uploaded files for a group of users:
- Sign in to the Zoom web portal as an administrator with the privilege to edit groups.
- In the navigation menu, click User Management then Groups.
- Click the applicable group name from the list.
- Click the Whiteboard tab.
- Under Other Settings, click the Allow users to download the uploaded files toggle to enable or disable it.
- If a verification dialog appears, click Enable or Disable to verify the change.
- When enabled, you have the option to specify who can download the uploaded files in the whiteboard.
- Select Anyone (users in your account and external users) to allow both users within your account and external users to download the uploaded files in the whiteboard.
- Select Only users in your account to allow only users who belong to your account to download the uploaded files in the whiteboard.
- Click Save.

User

- Sign in to the Zoom web portal.
- In the navigation menu, click Settings.
- Click the Whiteboard tab.
- Under Other Settings, click the Allow users to download the uploaded files toggle to enable or disable it.
- If a verification dialog appears, click Enable or Disable to verify the change.
- When enabled, you have the option to specify who can download the uploaded files in the whiteboard.
- Select Anyone (users in your account and external users) to allow both users within your account and external users to download the uploaded files in the whiteboard.
- Select Only users in your account to allow only users who belong to your account to download the uploaded files in the whiteboard.
- Click Save.
Note: If the option is grayed out, it has been locked at either the group or account level. You need to contact your Zoom admin.
