Managing Zoom Surveys as user


Zoom Surveys is a stand-alone feature that allows users to manage a library of surveys, polls, and quizzes. Users can access the library from the Zoom web portal and apply its contents to meetings and webinars.

Create a survey

  1. Sign in to the Zoom web portal.
  2. In the navigation menu, click Surveys.
  3. In the top-right corner, click + Create.
    A pop-up window will appear.
  4. In the window, select Survey, then click Create.
  5. Click the Untitled Survey title and enter a survey name.
  6. Click the Describe your survey... section and enter a description about your survey.
  7. Hover your mouse over the first question and do the following actions:
    • Click the picture icon to upload an image for the question.
      The picture icon will disappear after you upload an image.
    • Click the pencil icon to edit the question.
    • Click the ellipsis , then choose from the following options:
      • Add skip logic: Choose a single-choice question and the option participants can select to skip to another question or the end of the survey. The question will be required.
      • Duplicate: Duplicate the question.
      • Delete: Delete the question.
  8. Review the question types and configuration options, then edit the question and select the question type.
  9. (Optional) Click + Add question to add another question to the survey.
  10. (Optional) For each question that you edit, click the Required toggle to enable or disable it.
  11. In the top-right corner, use the following actions:
    • Click the Zoom AI Companion icon to generate questions with AI Companion.
      Note: This feature only supports single-choice question types.
      1. Select the Number of questions.
      2. Select the Number of options.
      3. Under I want to create a survey to..., enter a description that includes the audience, goals, and context for the survey. You can also click Try an example to generate an example in the description.
      4. Click Generate.
        Zoom AI Companion will generate questions for the survey.
    • (Optional) Click the gear icon to configure the following options:
      A panel will appear.
      • Require answers to be anonymous
      • Numbered questions
      • Show question type
      • Feedback after submission
    • (Optional) Click the color palette icon to customize the survey's colors and upload a header image.
    • (Optional) Click the preview icon to see a preview.
    • (Optional) Click the ellipsis icon to Save as draft.
  12. (Optional) Click Save to allow the survey to be sent after meetings.

How to create and start polls or quizzes

Use a poll or quiz to collect responses or answers during meetings and webinars.

Create a poll or quiz

  1. Sign in to the Zoom web portal.
  2. In the navigation menu, click Surveys.
  3. In the top-right corner, click + Create.
    A pop-up window will appear.
  4. In the window, select Poll or quiz, then click Create.
    Note: A poll will be created by default.
  5. (Optional) In the top-right corner, click the Make it a quiz toggle to switch the poll to a quiz.
  6. Click the Untitled Poll title to give the poll or quiz a name.
  7. Hover your mouse over the first question and do the following actions:
    • Click the picture icon to upload an image for the question.
      The picture icon will disappear after you upload an image.
    • Click the pencil icon to edit the question.
    • Click the ellipsis , then choose from the following options:
      • Duplicate: Duplicate the question.
      • Delete: Delete the question.
  8. Review the question types and configuration options, then edit the question and select the question type.
  9. (Optional) Click + Add Question to add another question to the poll or quiz.
  10. (Optional) For each question that you edit, click the Required toggle to enable or disable it.
  11. In the top-right corner, use the following actions:
    • (Optional) Click the Zoom AI Companion icon to generate questions with AI Companion.
      Note: This feature only supports single-choice question types.
      1. Select the Number of questions.
      2. Select the Number of options.
      3. Under I want to create a survey to..., enter a description that includes the audience, goals, and context for the survey. You can also click Try an example to generate an example in the description.
      4. Click Generate.
        Zoom AI Companion will generate questions for the survey. Generated questions can be modified or deleted.
    • (Optional) In the top-right corner, click the gear icon to configure the following option:
      A panel will appear.
      • Require answers to be anonymous
    • (Optional) Click the preview icon to see a preview.
    • (Optional) Click the ellipsis icon to Save as draft.
  12. (Optional) Click Save to allow the poll or quiz to be started during meetings.

Note: If you selected to create a quiz, you must click Set answer to select a correct answer for each question.

How to view survey, poll, and quiz results

  1. Sign in to the Zoom web portal.
  2. In the navigation menu, click Surveys.
  3. Click the All types tab.
  4. To the right of the survey, poll, or quiz you want to view results for, click the analytics icon.

How to manage surveys, polls, and quizzes

Copy link for participants

You can copy the survey link to share with participants.

  1. Sign in to the Zoom web portal.
  2. In the navigation menu, click Surveys.
  3. Click the All types or Surveys tab.
  4. To the right of the survey you want to manage, click the ellipsis , then click Copy Link.
  5. Complete the following actions to share your survey with others:
    • Click Copy link to copy the survey link.
    • Click Get QR code.
      A pop-up window will appear.
      1. In the window, choose from the following actions:
        1. Click Copy to clipboard to copy the QR code.
        2. Click Download PNG to save and download the QR code image as a PNG file.

Close surveys

  1. Sign in to the Zoom web portal.
  2. In the navigation menu, click Surveys.
  3. Click the All types or Surveys tab.
  4. To the right of the survey you want to manage, click the ellipsis , then click Close survey.
    A confirmation window will appear.
  5. In the window, click Confirm.

This survey will stop collecting responses after being closed.

Edit surveys, polls, and quizzes

  1. Sign in to the Zoom web portal.
  2. In the navigation menu, click Surveys.
  3. Click the All types, Surveys, or Polls and quizzes tab.
  4. To the right of the survey, poll, or quiz you want to edit, click the ellipsis , then click Edit.
  5. Edit your survey, poll, or quiz.
  6. Click Save.

Preview surveys, polls, and quizzes

  1. Sign in to the Zoom web portal.
  2. In the navigation menu, click Surveys.
  3. Click the All types, Surveys, or Polls and quizzes tab.
  4. To the right of the survey, poll, or quiz you want to preview, click the ellipsis , then click Preview.
    The survey, poll, or quiz preview will appear.

Duplicate surveys, polls, and quizzes

  1. Sign in to the Zoom web portal.
  2. In the navigation menu, click Surveys.
  3. Click the All types, Surveys, or Polls and quizzes tab.
  4. To the right of the survey, poll, or quiz you want to duplicate, click the ellipsis , then click Duplicate.
    The survey, poll, or quiz will be duplicated.

How to delete surveys, polls, and quizzes

  1. Sign in to the Zoom web portal.
  2. In the navigation menu, click Surveys.
  3. Click the All types, Surveys, or Polls and quizzes tab.
  4. To the right of the survey, poll, or quiz you want to delete, click the ellipsis , then click Delete.
    A confirmation window will appear.
  5. In the window, click Delete.
    Note: This action cannot be undone.
