Using Zoom Whiteboard with LTI Pro
LTI Pro supports the ability to view, edit, and share Zoom Whiteboards from within an LMS. For LTI 1.3 users, a Whiteboard Project is created using the class roster where all of the class content will reside.
Requirements for using Zoom Whiteboard with LTI Pro
- The LTI Pro 1.3 has been installed.
- Enablement
- The account owner or admin privileges, or a user with a role that includes the Marketplace role privilege
- Out-of-meeting Zoom Whiteboard is enabled for the account
- Enable the Names and Roles Provisioning Service for your LTI 1.3 tool in your LMS. From LTI Pro Integrations, find your instructions for configuring breakout rooms for your LMS. You will find details on enabling the roster service there.

Limitations of using Whiteboard with LTI Pro
- Users must have a Zoom account to view the Whiteboard tab. The tab will not be visible for users who do not have a Zoom account.
- The LMS user email must match the Zoom user email, including case sensitivity.
How to enable Zoom Whiteboard with LTI Pro
- Sign in to the Zoom Marketplace.
- Click Manage, then click Apps on Account.
- Find the LTI Pro App.
- Under the Action column, click the More icon, then click Configure.
- Next to the desired LTI credentials, click Edit.
- Enable Zoom Whiteboard.
How to use Zoom Whiteboard with LTI Pro
Launching the LTI Pro from within a class section will automatically create a Whiteboard folder. Once the folder is created, instructors can view their Whiteboards by navigating to the top of the LTI Pro app and clicking on the Whiteboards tab.
The first instructor to launch LTI Pro within the class will be the owner of the folder. All students will be added to the folder as a Viewer and all other instructors will be added as an Editor. This setting can be modified at the account level in the LTI Pro configuration page. Instructors can override the permissions for each course.
Update Whiteboard permissions in LTI Pro
Teachers can change these roles by updating their class whiteboard settings. To update the permissions:
- As the owner of the Whiteboard, launch the LTI Pro app.
- At the top of the app, click More , then click Manage Zoom Whiteboard.
- Under Enable Zoom Whiteboard for course modify the Teacher or Student permissions.
Note: Whiteboard user permissions for LTI Pro reflect the same privileges when using the standard Zoom Whiteboard. - Click Save.
