Deleting and recovering deleted notes


Account owners and co-owners can delete notes from within the Zoom desktop client or in the Zoom web portal. When notes are deleted, they are moved to the trash. Within the Trash tab, you can recover deleted notes within 30 days, or delete them permanently.

How to delete a note

  1. Sign in to the Zoom desktop client.
  2. At the top, click the Notes button.
    Note: If you don’t see the Notes option, click More then select Notes from the list.
  3. Open the desired note.
  4. Click the More button .
  5. Click Move to Trash.
    The deleted note will be moved to the Trash.
    Note: This option is only available for notes you’ve created. Instead, you can choose Leave Note, to leave a note that has been shared with you or you co-own.
  6. (Optional) To delete multiple notes:
    1. Click the checkboxes beside the desired notes.
    2. In the top right corner, click Move to trash
    3. When prompted, click Move.

  2. On the left menu, click Notes.
  3. Open the desired note.
  4. Click the More button .
  5. Click Move to Trash.
    The deleted note will be moved to the Trash tab.
    Note: This option is only available for notes you’ve created. Instead, you can choose Leave Note, to leave a note that has been shared with you.

How to recover a deleted note from the trash

  1. Sign in to the Zoom desktop client.
  2. At the top, click the Notes button.
    Note: If you don’t see the Notes option, click the More button and select Notes from the list.
  3. In the left menu, click Trash.
  4. To the right of the desired Note, click the More button , then click Restore.
  5. When prompted, click Restore.
  6. (Optional) To recover multiple notes:
    1. Click the checkboxes beside the desired notes.
    2. At the top of the dashboard, click Restore
    3. When prompted, click Restore.
  1. Sign in to the Zoom web portal.
  2. On the left menu, click Notes.
  3. Open the desired note.
  4. Click the More button , then click Restore.
  5. When prompted, click Remove from trash.
  6. (Optional) To recover multiple notes:
    1. Click the checkboxes beside the desired notes.
    2. At the top of the dashboard, click Restore
    3. When prompted, click Restore.
