Enabling or disabling Zoom Clips

Account owners or admins can allow users to create clips to record videos outside of meetings. Zoom Clips enable users to capture personal video messages, screen recordings, and presentation-style videos. This feature is particularly valuable for demonstrating product features or showcasing various functionalities. It can be enabled or disabled at the account, group, or user level and can be locked at the account or group level to prevent users from making changes.

How to enable or disable Clips

You can enable or disable Zoom Clips for the entire account, a group of users, or at the individual user level.

Enable or disable Clips for the entire account

This setting allows account owners or admins to enable or disable Clips for all users in the account.

  1. Sign in to the Zoom web portal as an admin with the privilege to edit account settings.
  2. In the navigation menu, click Account Management, then Account Settings.
  3. Click the Clips tab.
  4. Under General, click the Clips toggle to enable or disable it.
  5. If a verification dialog appears, click Enable or Disable to verify the change.
  6. (Optional) To prevent all users in your account from changing this setting, click the lock icon , and then click Lock to confirm the setting.
  7. (Optional) If Clips is disabled and locked, click the eye icon image.png to make Clips invisible for your entire account.
    Note: The Clips tab will not appear in the Zoom web portal or desktop app of your users, but as an admin, you’ll still be able to access the setting in your portal to enable it when desired. This option is only available at the account level.
  8. (Optional) For more customization, review additional Zoom Clips settings and enable or disable them as needed.

Enable or disable Clips for a group of users

This setting allows account owners or admins to enable or disable Clips for a specific group of users. Changes apply only to users in the selected group.

  1. Sign in to the Zoom web portal.
  2. In the navigation menu, click User Management, then Groups.
  3. Click the applicable group name.
  4. Click the Clips tab.
  5. Under General, click the Clips toggle to enable or disable it.
  6. If a verification dialog appears, click Enable or Disable to verify the change.
    Note: If the option is grayed out, it has been locked at the account level and needs to be changed at that level.
  7. (Optional) To prevent all users in the group from changing this setting, click the lock icon , and then click Lock to confirm the setting.
  8. (Optional) For more customization, review additional Zoom Clips settings and enable or disable them as needed.

Enable or disable clips for a specific user

This setting allows account owners or admins to enable or disable Clips for a specific user. Changes apply only to the user.

  1. Sign in to the Zoom web portal.
  2. In the navigation menu, click User Management, then Users.
  3. Click the name of the user.
  4. Click the Settings tab.
  5. Click the Clips tab.
  6. Under General, click Create Clips.
  7. If a verification dialog appears, click Enable or Disable to verify the change.
    Note: If the option is grayed out, it has been locked at either the account or group level. You need to contact your Zoom admin.
  8. (Optional) For more customization, review additional Zoom Clips settings and enable or disable them as needed.
