This feature allows meeting participants to communicate before, during, and after a meeting by creating a dedicated group chat in Zoom Team Chat for all invited meeting participants. When enabled, in-meeting chats, reactions, files, and images will show up in that group chat as they are sent in the meeting, allowing meeting conversations to continue after a meeting ends. Participants that join the meeting ad hoc (not invited through the initial calendar invitation) are able to chat as normal during the meeting, but to access the continuous meeting chat, the host will need to add them after the meeting. Customers have long asked for the ability to more easily chat before a meeting and have access to in-meeting chats after a meeting. Now, users that are not able to be in a meeting will still be able to view the in-meeting chat to keep a pulse on the conversation. The functionality is also bi-directional, meaning that participants can also send messages in the Team Chat group chat if they’re running late, and those messages will show up in the in-meeting chat. These are just two examples of how this functionality will improve collaboration in and out of meetings.

Finding your dedicated group chat depends on your Team Chat settings. If you have your Chats and Channels sections organized by section, these group chats will show up under a new section named Meeting Chats. If Chats and Channels are not separated, your meeting chats will appear in order of recency just as your other chats.
Recurring meetings will only have one group chat for the recurring series of meetings, ensuring the conversation is accessible throughout the series.

Guest participants, which are any participants invited to the live meeting by either sharing the link or invited directly, will be able to send messages and see other messages sent during the meeting from the moment they join, but are unable to load messages from before joining, including those sent in the group chat before the meeting started. Their messages will be included in the group chat, but they will not be able to access the group chat outside of the meeting, until the group chat admin manually adds them to the dedicated chat group.
Yes, you can add others to the group who didn't attend the meeting or were not part of the original invitation, but it’s best to add them to the meeting invite if you want them to have access to both the meeting and the group chat.
After the meeting ends, the host will have the option to add internal participants to the group chat, if they were present in the meeting but were not included in the initial invitation.
Yes, when enabled in your Settings, this will be an additional option available when scheduling a meeting through the Zoom desktop client, mobile app, web scheduler, or Zoom Calendar. By unchecking the Enable continuous meeting chat box, no dedicated group chat will be created for this meeting.

No, older meetings set up before the functionality was made available will not automatically get this functionality, but it can be easily added. After the host enables this web setting, they can then edit the meeting and enable the Enable continuous meeting chat option. After saving the meeting with the setting enabled, all current invitees will be able to access the dedicated group chat, as described above.
