Attendees can join hybrid events using the Zoom companion app. This app allows them to attend an event in person or virtually without leaving Zoom Events. They can find, bookmark, and attend sessions in hybrid and virtual events. Attendees can navigate the physical space using maps and switch between in-person and virtual webinar/meeting sessions. During hybrid events, attendees can connect with in-person and virtual attendees .

Use the desktop lobby in companion mode
Attendees can join hybrid events using the companion app on desktop and laptop devices. This app allows them to attend an event in person or virtually without leaving Zoom Events. They can find, bookmark, and attend sessions in hybrid events.
During hybrid events, attendees can participate in chat and Q&A without video or audio streaming, and they can also enable streaming for audio/video. Attendees can switch from companion (in-person) mode to virtual mode in the lobby. Attendees can use the companion app to view sessions, chat with other attendees, watch recordings, and view the event map.
The following tabs in the lobby’s navigation menu are available in companion mode:
Lobby : This tab displays the sessions’ titles and images.Sessions : View a list of the event's sessions and session details. You can also bookmark your favorite sessions to create a customized itinerary.Itinerary : View all your sessions in one place, join a session directly from your itinerary, and have sessions where you’re a speaker to be displayed in a more prominent color in the calendar view.Exhibitors : Contact and learn more about the event’s exhibitors and sponsors in this tab.Event Maps : View the event map and access different levels of the event area from the Map Directory. You can also view a list of rooms at the event.
For in-person ticket holders, video and audio streaming is disabled in the lobby. To view livestreaming, you must switch to virtual mode .
Notes :
Livestreaming is disabled for the desktop lobby when attendees use companion mode. Expo is not available in companion mode. Attendees cannot use the eBadge feature on the desktop companion app.

Participate in webinar and meeting sessions
In webinar and meeting sessions, you can use the meeting controls to view the participants list, chat, share your screen, participate in Q&A, and record the session. In the participants list, you can view other participants who have enabled or disabled audio/video streaming .
Join a meeting or webinar session.Note : Video and audio streaming will be disabled in companion mode. In the bottom-left corner of the meeting controls, click Enable Stream . A pop-up window will appear. In the window, click Enable stream to confirm. Audio and video streaming will be enabled for your device, and you will be in virtual mode. (Optional) In the meeting controls, click Disable Stream . Audio and video streaming will be disabled, and you will be in Companion mode.
Accept host invite to switch from companion mode to virtual mode
Join a meeting or webinar session.Note : Video and audio streaming will be disabled in companion mode. When you receive the host’s invite to enable streaming , select from the following options:
Enable Stream : This will enable audio and video streaming, and you will switch to virtual mode.Cancel : Audio and video streaming will remain disabled, and you will remain in companion mode.
The host will receive a notification of your response.

Use in-person mode in the event lobby
Join a hybrid or in-person event using the Zoom Companion app. You will be directed to the list of the event's sessions in the Sessions tab .Use the bottom navigation menu to access the event's tabs:
Sessions : View a list of the event's sessions and session details. You can also bookmark your favorite sessions to create a customized itinerary .
On the session details page, the countdown to the session start time will be displayed before a session starts. During a session, the Join Chat & Q&A option will appear. After the session, the session recording will be available for playback.
Itinerary : View your bookmarked sessions and add them to your personal calendar .Chat : Access the lobby chats and view your connections . Learn more about participating in lobby chat .People : View a list of the Attendees , Speakers , and Exhibitors . Each category is separated by a tab. On user profiles, you can view if others are attending the event virtually or in person. An in-person/hybrid/virtual badge is displayed on user profiles, showing how they are attending the event. You can also search and filter the People tab .
Sponsors' profiles will display their custom company URL and logo. You can tap the company logo if the sponsor added a custom company URL.

Filter the People tab
The People tab is where you go to see the profile cards of everyone in the event. It includes all the profile cards of the event directory , and also displays the profile cards of the event's hosts, exhibitors, speakers, and attendees. You can tap the Speakers , Exhibitors , or Attendees tabs to narrow the results and display only the categorized Zoom Events users.
At the top of the People tab, use the search bar to search for Zoom Events attendees. To the right of the search bar, tap the filter button to use the following filters:
Connections : Find other Zoom Events users by whether they are connected or not connected with you.Status : Select the Feeling Social checkbox to filter other users who are available for networking.Role : Find other Zoom Events users by their role.Company : Find other Zoom Events users by their company.Position : Find other Zoom Events users by their position.Location : Find other Zoom Events users by location.Interests : Find other Zoom Events users by interests.
Switch to virtual mode
Join a hybrid or in-person event using the Zoom Companion app.On the bottom navigation menu, tap More . You will be directed to the More Options menu. Tap Switch to Virtual Mode . You will switch to the virtual mode of the event lobby. Learn more about using the event lobby in virtual mode .
Minimize event
Join a hybrid or in-person event using the Zoom Companion app.On the bottom navigation menu, tap More . You will be directed to the More Options menu. Tap Minimize Event . The event will be minimized, and you can do other actions on the Zoom mobile app while keeping the lobby open.
When you want to return to the lobby:
On the Zoom mobile app, tap Meetings . At the top of the Meetings tab, find the minimized event (labeled In progress ), then tap Join Lobby . You will return to the event lobby.
Leave event
Join a hybrid or in-person event using the Zoom Companion app.On the bottom navigation menu, tap More . You will be directed to the More Options menu. Tap Leave Event . You will exit the Zoom Event.

Use the web browser lobby in companion mode
Attendees can join hybrid events using the companion app on a web browser on desktop and laptop devices. This app allows them to attend an event in person or virtually without leaving Zoom Events. They can find, bookmark, and attend sessions in hybrid events.
During hybrid events, attendees can participate in chat and Q&A without video or audio streaming, and they can also enable streaming for audio/video. Attendees can switch from companion (in-person) mode to virtual mode in the lobby. Attendees can use the companion app to view sessions, chat with other attendees, watch recordings, and view the event map.
The following tabs in the lobby’s navigation menu are available in companion mode:

If the hosts allow it, attendees can access session recordings after an event. When a session is finished and its recording has been published, the session tile in the event details page will be clickable to watch the recording with a deeplink. When clicked, users will be directed to the lobby to watch the recording.
Attendees can also use multiple language voice translation from interpreters and can use recording transcript translation .
Note : The recordings will remain in the lobby until the lobby is closed.
Join an event lobby on the desktop client . At the top of the page, click the Sessions tab . On the session card that has the recording that you want to watch, click Watch Recording . You will be directed to the recording's page.

Attendees can watch Simulive recordings after a session ends by accessing the recording link in the event lobby. The Simulive recordings are not recorded; this link directs the attendees to the original recording which was used to create the Simulive session. Attendees can also view the session details on an event detail page. On the detail page of each session/recording, attendees can initiate Recording Playback if the session recording is available. If the attendee is recognized and granted access, they can watch the video on a recording playback window. If the attendee is recognized but not granted access, they must complete a registration form to access and watch the video on the recording playback window. If the attendee is not recognized, they will be directed to the registration page and must sign in or register to access the content. Learn more about viewing recordings from the event details page .
