The Free Trial period for Zoom IQ Meeting Summary and Zoom IQ Chat Compose ended as of September 5, 2023. These features are now part of Zoom AI Companion and are available with the paid services in eligible Zoom user accounts. If these features are available in your account, they will continue to be enabled or disabled according to your selections and you can make changes anytime in the Zoom web portal.
Data from users’ interactions with the AI Companion features may be accessed, processed, and used by Zoom to provide and maintain the services, troubleshoot issues, and provide support. Zoom does not use any of your audio, video, chat, screen sharing, attachments or other communications-like customer content (such as poll results, whiteboard and reactions) to train Zoom’s or its third-party artificial intelligence models. This commitment includes the content mentioned in the chart above, such as audio transcripts, used to provide the service.
Zoom’s unique federated approach to AI is designed to deliver high-quality results by dynamically incorporating Zoom’s own large language model (LLM) in addition to Meta Llama 2, OpenAI, and Anthropic. We evaluate and update our models periodically and models used to support Zoom AI Companion features may change from time to time. Features in AI Companion may use third-party AI-model providers, and we will share relevant data with those third-parties when you use the feature.
For example, if you use Chat Compose to help draft responses in Team Chat, the content used to provide the service as described in the section above — the selected chat thread, chat participant names, and your draft response — will be sent to the relevant model to provide the service. Similarly, AI Companion features used in Zoom Meetings that provide summaries or answer questions generate a temporary meeting transcript that will be sent to the relevant model to provide the service.
Even when data is shared, we do not allow third-party AI models to use your data to improve or train their models. Your data may be temporarily retained by those third-parties for Trust and Safety purposes or to comply with legal obligations. Data processed by Zoom AI Companion may be processed within U.S.-based data centers.
While AI-powered features can be valuable tools to help us be more productive, it’s important to understand the limitations of AI outputs or generated content. Put simply, AI outputs are not perfect, for a number of reasons. The performance of AI-powered systems is based on the data they have been trained on, which can lead to errors or inaccuracies when presented with new or unexpected situations. Zoom AI Companion utilizes developing AI technology, and AI Companion features may provide incorrect, inaccurate, misleading, or offensive responses. It is important for you to check AI-generated content for accuracy and to follow Zoom’s Acceptable Use Guidelines when editing or directing generated content.
Zoom is committed to reducing the negative impact of AI limitations by focusing on building AI responsibly, meaning privacy, security, inclusion, trust, and safety are central to what we do.
