Enabling Chat Compose with AI
Sometimes finding the right words can be challenging. Chat Compose with AI helps you compose and refine chat messages with minimal effort. Powered by AI, this feature can:
• Automatically improve clarity and structure
• Adjust the tone of your message
• Shorten or expand text
• Translate messages into over 30 languages

Requirements for enabling Compose with AI for Chat
- A Zoom Workplace Pro, Zoom Workplace Pro Plus, Zoom Workplace Business, Zoom Workplace Business Plus, Zoom Workplace Enterprise, Zoom Workplace Enterprise Plus, or Enterprise Bundle account
- Account owner or admin privileges
- Advanced Chat Encryption disabled
Notes:
- On an interim basis, using Chat Compose with AI requires being a Licensed user on these account types.
- AI may not be available for select verticals and select regional customers.
Limitations of Compose with AI for Chat
- Use of Chat Compose with AI is limited to 30 queries per day, per user.
How to enable or disable Compose with AI for Chat
Enable or disable Compose with AI for the entire account
This setting allows account owners or admins to enable or disable Compose with AI for Chat for all users in the account.
- Sign in to the Zoom web portal as an admin with the privilege to edit account settings.
- In the top-right corner, click your profile picture or initials, then click Admin Center.
- In the side menu, click Settings
. - Click Zoom AI.
- Under Zoom Chat, click the Compose with AI toggle to enable or disable it.
- If a verification dialog appears, click Enable or Disable to verify the change.
- (Optional) To prevent all users in your account from changing this setting, click the lock icon
, and then click Lock to confirm the setting.
If Chat Compose with AI is disabled, there will be an additional option below, allowing admins to control if the Compose with Zoom AI option is still shown in Chat or not. If shown in Chat, users can request to have the feature enabled, which sends an enablement request email from Zoom to all admins.
- If
Shown in Chat is displayed, Chat users will still see the Compose with AI option and have the option to request an admin enable this feature. - If
Hidden in Chat is displayed, Chat users will not see the Compose with AI option nor the ability to request admin enablement. The user would need to request an admin provide them access to this feature.
Enable or disable Compose with AI for a group of users
This setting allows account owners or admins to enable or disable Compose with AI for a specific group of users. Changes apply only to users in the selected group.
- Sign in to the Zoom web portal as an admin with the privilege to edit groups.
- In the top-right corner, click your profile picture or initials, then click Admin Center.
- In the side menu, click Users
. - Click Groups.
- Click the applicable group name from the list.
- In the General configuration section, click Edit product settings.
- Click the Zoom AI tab.
- Under Zoom Chat, click the Compose with AI toggle to enable or disable it.
- If a verification dialog appears, click Enable or Disable to verify the change.
Note: If the option is grayed out, it has been locked at the account level and must be changed at that level. - (Optional) To prevent all users in the group from changing this setting, click the lock icon
, and then click Lock to confirm the setting.
Enable or disable Compose with AI for your personal account
This setting allows individual users to enable or disable Compose with AI for their personal account. You do not need admin permissions to change the setting, unless it is locked by an admin for the entire account or a group of users.
- Sign in to the Zoom web portal.
- In the top-right corner, click your profile picture or initials, then click My account.
- In the side menu, click Settings
. - Click Zoom AI.
- Under Zoom Chat, click the Compose with AI toggle to enable or disable it.
- If a verification dialog appears, click Enable or Disable to verify the change.
Note: If the option is grayed out, it has been locked at either the group or account level. You cannot change it yourself and must contact your Zoom admin.
Note: By default, the Chat Compose with AI feature is enabled for you when the admin enables it for your account. You can toggle the settings without needing to restart or re-log in to the Zoom Workplace app. If the Chat Compose with AI feature is unlocked but disabled, the setting will be hidden. However, if the feature is both unlocked and enabled, the setting will be visible and enabled by default until you choose to disable it.
