Enabling or disabling documents and images upload in whiteboard


Admins can enable the option to allow users to upload documents and images to the whiteboard. This feature can be useful for sharing diagrams, charts, or other visual aids. However, there may be situations where you want to disable this option to avoid distractions or maintain privacy.

How to enable or disable the documents and images upload option in Zoom Whiteboard

Account

  1. Sign in to the Zoom web portal as an administrator with the privilege to edit account settings.
  2. In the navigation menu, click Account Management then Account Settings.
  3. Click the Whiteboard tab.
  4. Under Other Settings, click the Allow users to upload files to Whiteboard toggle to enable or disable it.
  5. If a verification dialog appears, click Enable or Disable to verify the change.
    • When enabled, you have the option to specify which supported file types can be uploaded and who can upload these files to the whiteboard.
      • Select Anyone (users in your account and external users) to allow both users within your account and external users to upload files to the whiteboard.
      • Select Only users in your account to allow only users who belong to your account to upload files.
      • Select the box next to Image to allows users upload images in JPG, PNG, GIF and SVG format.
      • Select the box next to Document to allows users upload a PDF file.
  6. Click Save.
  7. (Optional) If you want to make this setting mandatory for all users in the group, click the lock icon , and then click Lock to confirm the setting.

Group

  1. Sign in to the Zoom web portal as an administrator with the privilege to edit groups.
  2. In the navigation menu, click User Management then Groups.
  3. Click the applicable group name from the list.
  4. Click the Whiteboard tab.
  5. Under Other Settings, click the Allow users to upload files to Whiteboard toggle to enable or disable it.
  6. If a verification dialog appears, click Enable or Disable to verify the change.
    • When enabled, you have the option to specify which supported file types can be uploaded and who can upload these files to the whiteboard.
      • Select Anyone (users in your account and external users) to allow both users within your account and external users to upload files to the whiteboard.
      • Select Only users in your account to allow only users who belong to your account to upload files.
      • Select the box next to Image to allows users upload images in JPG, PNG, GIF and SVG format.
      • Select the box next to Document to allows users upload a PDF file.
  7. Click Save.
