Enabling or disabling Zoom Whiteboard
Enabling the Zoom Whiteboard feature allows users to collaborate on a virtual whiteboard during or outside of meetings. By default, Zoom Whiteboard is enabled for most accounts, but account owners and administrators can enable or disable them for certain users or user groups, or for the entire account.
Requirements for enabling or disabling Zoom Whiteboard as an administrator

How to enable or disable in-meeting whiteboard
Account
- Sign in to the Zoom web portal.
- In the navigation menu, click Account Management then Account Settings.
- Click the Whiteboard tab.
- Under In-meeting Whiteboard, click the Enable In-Meeting Whiteboard toggle to enable or disable it.
- If a verification dialog appears, click Enable or Disable to verify the change.
The settings below are enabled by default if Enable In-Meeting Whiteboard is enabled.
- Allow whiteboards to be saved to cloud: Allows users to save whiteboards to the cloud.
- Allow export, duplication, and templatization of whiteboard content: Allows users to export in-meeting whiteboard content and save as PDF, PNG, or CSV formats to the Zoom folder on their device, or duplicate and create templates of whiteboards. Select the users who are allowed to export, duplicate, and create templates from whiteboard content.
- Allow participants to share whiteboard: Allows users to specify who can start sharing when someone else is sharing and who can initiate new whiteboards in the meeting.
- Allow commenters and viewers to facilitate in the meeting: Allows users to enable commenters and viewers to facilitate whiteboards during the meeting. If this option is disabled, only hosts, board owners, and editors will have access to facilitation tools, which include features like the timer, laser pointer, and more.
- (Optional) To prevent all users in your account from changing these settings, click the lock icon
, and then click Lock to confirm the setting.
Group
- Sign in to the Zoom web portal.
- In the navigation menu, click User Management then Groups.
- Click the applicable group name from the list.
- Click the Whiteboard tab.
- Under In-meeting Whiteboard, click the Enable In-Meeting Whiteboard toggle to enable or disable it.
- If a verification dialog appears, click Enable or Disable to verify the change.

Disable whiteboard for participants during a meeting
If you're the host of a Zoom meeting and you don't want participants to be able to use the whiteboard feature, you can disable it in the meeting settings:
- Sign in to the Zoom desktop app.
- Start or join a meeting as the host.
- In the meeting controls toolbar, click Host tools

Note: If Host tools isn't available, click More
, then click Host tools
. - Click Advanced.
- Click Whiteboards.
- Click the Allow participants to share whiteboard toggle to disable it. By disabling this setting, only the host can share whiteboards during the meeting.
- (Optional) Click the Allow commenters and viewers to facilitate in the meeting toggle to disable it. By disabling this setting, only the hosts, board owners, and editors can facilitate the whiteboards during the meeting.
How to enable or disable out-of-meeting whiteboard
