How to control the volume through Zoom audio settings
How to lower or adjust the volume on Zoom without changing the device's volume
On Windows devices, you can use the volume mixer to adjust the volume of individual apps, however, there is no way to do this on macOS or Linux devices without downloading 3rd-party software.
On your Windows computer, in the lower-right corner of the taskbar, right-click the speaker icon.
Click Open volume mixer.
Under Apps, locate Zoom Meetings. Note: Multiple Zoom options may be available. Try each one to determine which is the correct option for adjusting only the volume of the Zoom meeting.
Adjust the volume slider as needed. The volume in a Zoom meeting will increase or decrease based on your selection, while your computer’s volume will remain the same.
Participants can control the volume of Zoom to their preferred level before and during meetings. You can adjust the volume through Zoom’s audio settings which will also affect the device’s overall volume, or you can adjust the volume of the Zoom meeting without changing your device’s overall volume (this can be done by using the volume mixer on Windows devices or a third-party software on macOS and Linux devices).
You are not able to adjust the volume of individual participants in a meeting. If someone else is speaking too loudly, you can personally adjust the volume that you hear for the Zoom meeting by following the steps in this article. If they are speaking too quietly, check if they have a different microphone they can use. For more information, learn how to troubleshoot audio issues and speaker or microphone issues.
