Using spatial audio


Zoom Rooms with stereo loudspeakers can emit participant voices based on their placement in the meeting window. For example, when a participant displayed on the left or right side of a gallery view speaks, that participant’s audio will be emitted from the corresponding left or right speaker.

Enabling on the web portal

  1. Sign in to the Zoom web portal.
  2. Click Room Management, then click Zoom Rooms.
  3. Find the Zoom Room you wish to configure, click Edit to change the Zoom Room’s settings.
  4. Click Devices on the left, then click the toggle  next to Spatial Audio.

Changing the setting in a Zoom Room

  1. Tap the Settings icon on your Zoom Rooms controller or touch display.
  2. Tap Speaker, then tap the toggle  next to Spatial Audio.

Testing the setting in a Zoom Room

  1. Tap the Settings icon on your Zoom Rooms controller or touch display.
  2. Tap Speaker, then tap Test Speaker
    The test will emit distinct audio from the left and right speakers.

How to use spatial audio in a meeting

  1. Start or join a Zoom Rooms meeting.
  2. Enter gallery or immersive view.
    Stereo loudspeakers will emit participant audio based on the participant’s placement in the gallery or immersive view layout.
