Enabling the Zoom Hybrid Meeting service


The Zoom Hybrid Meeting service module leverages the platform and OS provided by Zoom Node to allow organizations to deploy and manage the Hybrid Meeting service easily. Once deployed, the service can be enabled at the account, group, or individual user levels.

Note: Only Licensed users will be able to use the Hybrid Meeting service once it has been enabled. 

Prerequisites for enabling the Zoom Hybrid Meeting service

How to enable the Hybrid Meeting service 

Account

  1. Sign in to the Zoom web portal.
  2. In the navigation menu, click Account Management then Account Settings.
  3. Click the Meeting tab.
  4. Under In Meeting (Advanced), click the Hybrid services for meeting/webinar hosts and participants toggle to enable or disable it.
  5. If a verification dialog displays, click Enable or Disable to verify the change.
  6. (Optional) The following settings can also be enabled if the service has been enabled:
    • Users can only use specified zones: Users will only be able to use designated zones for hosting meetings. 
      Note: Clicking Edit will allow administrators to designate what Zones users can use to host meetings.
    • Users can use private mode: When enabled, users can enable Private Mode when scheduling their meetings.
      • Allow guests to join private-mode meetings/webinars: When enabled, invited external participants will be able to join the meetings hosted in private mode.
        Note: External participants will need to be able to connect to the Hybrid Multimedia Router deployed behind the organization's firewall.
      • Enforce private mode for all meetings/webinars: When enabled users to only be able to use internal mode. 
  7. (Optional) To prevent all users in your account from changing this setting, click the lock icon , and then click Lock to confirm the setting.
  8. Click Save.

Group

  1. Sign in to the Zoom web portal.
  2. In the navigation menu, click User Management then Groups.
  3. Click the applicable group name from the list.
  4. Click the Meeting tab.
  5. Under In Meeting (Advanced), click the Hybrid services for meeting/webinar hosts and participants toggle to enable or disable it.
  6. If a verification dialog displays, click Enable or Disable to verify the change.
  7. (Optional) The following settings can also be enabled if the service has been enabled:
    • Users can only use specified zones: Users will only be able to use designated zones for hosting meetings.
