Transferring Zoom Events assets between hubs
When the hub owner has multiple hubs, they can transfer assets (events, recordings, content) between hubs—from inactive hubs to new hubs. Some of the inactive hubs may contain events, recordings, and content library assets they want to carry over into their new hub. Additionally, they can select the hub they want to move assets from and single-select, bulk-select, and select all events, recordings, and content library items.
This workflow supports the full transfer of assets at any time (i.e., hub migration, upgrade/downgrade Zoom Events licenses, etc.). This helps hub owners save assets from inactive hubs to their new hub.
Note: To transfer assets, the user must either be the hub owner or part of the destination hub.
Requirements for transferring Zoom Events assets to a hub
Limitations of transferring Zoom Events assets between hubs
The following events cannot be transferred to another hub:
- An event that starts in the next 30 minutes or if a session is in progress.
- To transfer paid events, the payment and billing configuration must match between the selected hub and your new hub.
- You cannot transfer draft events if the destination hub doesn’t have the payment and billing information configured.
- You cannot transfer upcoming and past events if the payment and billing information doesn’t match between the inactive hub and the destination hub.
- Events can't be transferred in the following cases:
- From a Zoom Events hub to a Zoom Sessions hub
- To a hub that supports fewer attendees per event
- From a Pay-Per-Attendee hub to a hub that supports a specific number of attendees
How to understand the asset transfer process
Understand asset transfer scenarios
Migrate assets from inactive hubs to one active hub (Zoom Events Unlimited users)
Users migrating to the Zoom Events Unlimited plan must choose one hub to be an active hub. The resources/assets (events, recordings, content library) created under these inactive hubs must be moved and merged into the active hub.
Bulk assets transfer when upgrading licenses
Users who choose to upgrade between different types and capacities of licenses can move certain assets as needed between hubs. Some scenarios may apply to these users:
- Upgrading within the same license (Zoom Events Unlimited license or Zoom Events Pay Per Attendee license)
- Upgrading to other licenses (i.e., Zoom Events Unlimited to Zoom Events Pay Per Attendee, and vice versa)
- Upgrading across products (i.e., upgrading Zoom Sessions to Zoom Events, and vice versa)
Bulk hub migration
For re-activated hubs, if the Unlimited license capacity is the same or higher (e.g. previously, the user had the Zoom Events 500 license but now has Zoom Events and/or Zoom Sessions 500 or higher), the user can keep the same number of event organizers.
When a user is assigned multiple licenses and has multiple inactive hubs, they can have unlimited host seats for licensed holders per hub and up to 5 unlicensed hosts per hub. The hub owner can view users who are licensed and unlicensed. The hub owner will also receive messages that inform them of how many free account users and paid license holders are allowed as hub hosts.
Bulk event transfer
The Zoom account admin can choose to transfer a single event across different hubs, and this transfer will follow certain rules based on the source, destination hubs, type, and status of the event being transferred.
Understand transferring paid events
The hub owner or hub host can transfer eligible upcoming, draft, and past paid events from one hub to another hub within the hub's Events tab.
To transfer paid events, the following criteria must be met:
- For upcoming and past events, at least one of the payout solutions of two hubs is the same, and the billing information is the same.
- For draft events, as long as the target hub has a payment setup, it allows the asset transfer.
Understand what happens to inactive hubs when assets are not transferred
When you choose to not transfer assets:
- You can still edit and host upcoming events on the inactive hub.
- You can’t create new events on the inactive hub.
- You can’t upload new assets to the content library.
