Customizing workspace types in account settings


Account owners and admins can customize workspace categories, allowing booking of any type of physical space in the workplace. They can choose icons for their customized workspace types. Account owners and admins can also place these customized categories on the floor map and set how many of these spaces can be booked concurrently.

Create a workspace type

  1. Sign in to the Zoom web portal as an admin with the privilege to edit account settings.
  2. In the navigation menu, click Workspaces Management then Workspaces.
  3. Click Account Settings.
  4. Under Basic, find the Workspace Types setting.
  5. Click + Add New Type.
    A pop-up window will appear.
  6. In the pop-up window, under Name, enter the name of the new workspace type.
  7. Under Icons, select an icon for the new workspace type.
  8. Click Save
    The workspace type will appear on the web portal.

When workspace types are created, they will be listed on the floor list in the Workspaces tab (under Workspaces Management) and under Workspace Types on the account settings page.

Additionally, when you add a workspace to a floor map, you can select your customized workspace type from the Workspace Type options.

Edit a workspace type

  1. Create a workspace type.
  2. Under Workspace Types (on the web portal settings), hover your mouse over the workspace type you want to edit.
  3. Click the pencil icon .
    A pop-up window will appear.
  4. In the pop-up window, edit the name and select another icon.
  5. Click Save.

Delete a workspace type

  1. Create a workspace type.
  2. Under Workspace Types (on the web portal settings), hover your mouse over the workspace type you want to edit.
  3. Click the pencil icon .
    A pop-up window will appear.
  4. In the pop-up window, click Delete
    A confirmation window will appear.
  5. In the confirmation window, click Delete.

Note: If the workspace type is being used, you cannot delete this type. The admin must delete all the workspaces of this type before deleting this specific workspace type.
