Joining a meeting with Okta Authentication for E2EE
When joining an end-to-end encrypted meeting, participants can choose the information they would like to share about their identity to prove their credibility. After being authenticated, a badge is assigned to the participant indicating the information provided was verified by Okta instead of the Zoom profile.
Notes:
- The information selected to be shared will be visible to the host and all participants in the meeting.
- A participant’s display name can be edited and is not Okta Authenticated for E2EE.
- You will always need to be signed in to Zoom through your Single Sign On to display verified Okta information in meetings.

Display Okta Authentication for E2EE enabled
How to enable Okta Authentication for E2EE before joining a meeting
If your admin allows you to display your information is verified by Okta, by default the following feature will be enabled, however, if it is not, you can enable it as follow before joining a meeting.
- Sign in to the Zoom web portal.
- In the navigation menu, click Settings.
- Click the Meeting tab.
- Under Security, make sure the Allow use of end-to-end encryption setting is toggled ON
- Click the Display Okta Authentication for E2EE toggle to enable it if it is disabled.
Note: If the Display Okta Authentication for E2EE setting is locked for your account, your admin will need to configure the feature for it to be available to you.
How to view a participant’s Okta Authentication for E2EE information during a meeting

Join the meeting as a participant.
- Click Participants .
- To the right of the participant name, click the Okta Authentication for E2EE badge .
- In the Okta Authentication for End-to-End Encryption pop-up window, you will see the following information:
- Company domain name
- Email address
Hide my Okta Authentication for E2EE
- Sign in to the Zoom web portal.
- In the navigation menu, click Settings.
- Click the Meeting tab.
- Under Security, click the Display Authenticated by Okta toggle to enable or disable it.
Note: If you are currently in an active meeting and displaying Authenticated by Okta information you will need to leave and rejoin the meeting to stop displaying the information.
