Prerequisites for creating a Mind Map in Zoom Whiteboard

How to create a Mind Map in Zoom Whiteboard

  1. Create a new whiteboard in the Zoom web portal or Zoom desktop client.
Note: To edit an existing whiteboard, open a whiteboard from the dashboard.
  2. In the toolbar on the left side of the screen, click the More Tools icon .
  3. Select Mind Map.
  4. Choose between Horizontal or Vertical Mind Map.
The Mind Map cursor will appear, enabling the user to select where to place the Mind Map. The placement becomes the Mind Map Origin.
  5. Double-click the Mind Map origin to add text.
    The format menu will appear.
  6. Use the format menu to add formatting to the elements.
    • Text Format: Enables users to choose bold, underline, italics, or strikethrough for the Mind Map text.
    • Swap Orientation: Rotates the Mind Map origin clockwise to the new orientation. For example, a horizontal Mind Map origin rotates clockwise to the vertical position and a vertical Mind Map origin rotates clockwise to the horizontal position.
    • Tidy: Restores the Mind Map to the default width. This option also restores associated elements of the Mind Map to the default width. When the user selects specific elements, the Tidy option works as follows:
      • Origin element: Tidies the entire Mind Map
      • Parent element: Tidies all proceeding branches
      • Child element: Tidies all proceeding branches
      • Subsidiary element: Tidies all proceeding branches
    • Color: Select the element to change, then select the Color option.
      • Origin: Applies the color to the origin element. If a color is not selected, the element defaults to bold and black. If the element is black, the default changes to white.
      • Parent: Applies the color to the element plus the entire route from the branch of origin and all the way through the branch.
      • Child: Applies the color to the element plus the branch of the parent and all the way through the branch.
      • Subsidiary: Applies the color to the element plus the branch of the child and all the way through the branch.
    • More: Select the More menu to apply additional options to the Mind Map.
      • Copy, Paste, or Duplicate: Enables users to paste or duplicate as a new origin element.
      • Copy Link to Object: Copies the hyperlink or URL of a selected Mind Map which can then be shared or pasted elsewhere.
      • Object Order: Enables users to select the origin element to Bring to Front, Send to Back, Bring Forward, or Send Backward. This action applies to the entire Mind Map as one unified object.
      • Export as Data: Export data from selected Mind Map as a CSV file.
      • Save as Template: Enables users to save the Mind Map as a new origin template.
      • Delete: Enables users to delete the origin element. This action also deletes the entire Mind Map. If another element is deleted (for example, a parent element), then the proceeding elements are also deleted. If a child element is deleted, all of its subsidiary elements are deleted.
