Using delegated account administration


When account owners invite external users or third-party users to help manage their account, users who accept the account administration invitation are allowed to manage the account owner’s account. These users can view a list of all accounts they can access and have a centralized web portal to access each account.

Note: If invited users signed in with a different account (that doesn’t contain the account administration email invitation), they will not have access to the account administration.

Accept email invitation

  1. Open your email account and access the email invitation to manage a Zoom account.
  2. In the email invitation, click Accept.
    Note: The email invitation will expire in 30 days.
    You will be directed to a confirmation page.
  3. In the confirmation page, read the Terms of Service and Privacy Statement, then select the I have read and agree to the above terms and conditions checkbox.
  4. Click Accept.
    By clicking the button, you can manage the account owner’s Zoom account from your Zoom web portal.

Access account administration on the Zoom web portal

  1. After accepting the email invite, sign in to the Zoom web portal, using your email address that you received the Zoom account administration invitation.
  2. In the navigation menu, click Account Management then External Accounts.
  3. To the right of the external account you want to manage, click Manage.

How to add delegates

  1. Access the account administration on the Zoom web portal.
  2. On the External Accounts Management page, under Delegate Permissions, click Add Delegates.
    An Add Delegates pop-up window will appear.
  3. In the pop-up window, enter users’ names or email addresses.
    Note: You can assign the same account management permissions to the selected users.
  4. Click Add.

An email invitation will be sent to the invited users. The invited user will appear under Delegate Permissions. Once the external users accept the invite, they can access and manage the Zoom account based on the role settings.

How to start managing a Video SDK account

  1. Open your email account and access the email invitation to manage a Zoom Video SDK account.
  2. Click Accept.
    You will be directed to a confirmation page.
  3. On the confirmation page, read Zoom’s Terms of Service and Privacy statement, then select the I have read and agree to the above terms and conditions checkbox.
  4. Click Accept.
    You will be directed to the Zoom web portal sign-in page.
  5. Sign in to the Zoom web portal.
    After you sign in, you will be directed to the External Accounts Management page under Account Management.
  6. To the right of the account you want to manage, click Manage.
    If you are a licensed user, you can access your delegated account administration. If you have a free account without a credit card, you will receive a message about verifying or upgrading your account.
    Notes:
    • Users with a free account without a credit card cannot manage a Video SDK account.
    • To access the ability to manage an external account on your Basic account, you will be asked to verify your identity by credit card. You will not be charged until you select a subscription plan. You can change your payment method at any time under Billing Information.
  7. On the message, select from the following actions:
    • Click Upgrade Account if you want to upgrade your free account.
      You will be directed to the Zoom pricing and product page.
      1. Edit the number of licenses.
      2. Choose your licensing plan.
      3. Select your subscription option.
      4. (Optional) Add available-add-ons.
      5. After customizing your plan, click Continue to finish upgrading and checkout.
    • Click the link to verify your account with a credit card.
      You will be directed to the Billing Information tab to add your billing contact information and credit card.

After completing these steps, you will be redirected to the External Accounts Management page. You can now manage the Video SDK account.
