Dashboard for VDI


The VDI Host Client is the VDI Zoom Meeting client installed on the virtual desktop. Account owners and admins can view account-usage metrics for VDI, using the VDI Host Client and VDI Plugin charts. The Dashboard reports indicate end-of-life risk for older VDI versions and provide detailed individual user reports.

How to access the VDI dashboard

  1. Sign in to the Zoom web portal.
  2. In the navigation menu, click Dashboard.
  3. In the Client Versions by chart, click the drop-down arrow, then click VDI.
    The Host and Plugin charts will appear.
    Note: This view displays data from the past 12 months.

After you access the VDI dashboard, you can view the client or plugin versions by VDI. Both charts include metrics for the following:

How to access and understand VDI Dashboard reports

Access the VDI Host Versions reports

  1. Access the VDI dashboard charts.
  2. On the VDI Host chart, hover your mouse over the metric of which you want more information and click Drill In.
    You will be directed to the VDI Host Versions page.

Access the VDI Plugin Versions reports

  1. Access the VDI dashboard charts.
  2. On the VDI Plugin chart, hover your mouse over the metric of which you want more information and click Drill In.
    You will be directed to the VDI Plugin Versions page.

Understand the VDI Dashboard reports

These reports record the last login for the host client (VDI Meeting client running on the virtual desktop) and update the table every time a user logs in. The VDI Plugin version uses different logic and creates a new entry every time a different version of the VDI Plugin is detected. If someone is using multiple workstations with different versions of the VDI Plugin installed, multiple entries will be displayed for that user. The multiple entries are intentional and indicate when older plugins may need to be updated.

View VDI Host Versions data

In the VDI Host Versions report, each time users sign in to their virtual desktop from a different workstation, a new entry is created. There is always a unique entry for each user.
Note: If there is no plugin version, N/A will be recorded (a record must be kept).

The VDI Plugin report includes a unique entry for every login. You can also search based on time in the drill-in. This chart depends on the date range, meaning that the chart will change when you change the date range.

How to manage VDI Dashboard reports

Search for a user

You can search for users using the search bar on both the VDI Host Versions and VDI Plugin Versions pages.

  1. At the top of the page, in the search bar, enter a user’s name.
  2. Click Search.

The page will update with your user search results.

Filter client versions

You can filter client versions in both the VDI Host Versions and VDI Plugin Versions pages.

  1. In the Client Versions box, click the arrow .
    A dropdown menu will appear.
  2. In the dropdown menu, select a version or select multiple versions to filter VDI client/plugin versions.
    You can also select All Versions to filter with all client versions in the account.

The page will update with filtered results of your selected client versions.

Use a date range (VDI Plugin Versions only)

You can use a date range to filter results only on the VDI Plugin Versions page.

At the top of the page, select dates for the From and To fields. The page will update with results from your selected date range.

Export VDI Dashboard reports

  1. Access the VDI Host Versions or VDI Plugin Versions page.
  2. At the top of the page, click the Export button.

A CSV report will download to your computer.
