Customizing booths in expo


Event organizers can use tools to brand, customize, and market booths in expo. This customization ability enhances the expo booth experience. Additionally, event organizers can also preview their customizations as they customize booths.

Event organizers can also ensure that their booth and sponsor/exhibitor profile customization fits in with the overall event marketing and branding.

Prerequisites for customizing booths in expo

Note: For access to the latest Zoom Events and Webinar features, we strongly recommend hosts to update to the latest version of the Zoom desktop client/mobile application.

How to access booth customization

Access from Expo Builder

  1. Sign in to Zoom Events.
  2. Access the Expo tab from the event that has the booth(s) you want to customize.
  3. Under Expo Builder, click the Booths tab.
  4. To the right of the booth that you want to edit, click the 3 dots , then click Customize Booth.

The Customize Booth view will appear.

Access from the expo floor

  1. Sign in to Zoom Events.
  2. Access the Expo tab from the event that has the booth(s) you want to customize.
  3. On the expo floor, click a booth that you want to configure.
    The Customize Booth view will appear.

Understand the Customize Booth view

After you access booth customization, your screen will display the Customize Booth view. Customize Booth is where you’ll manage the customization, editing, and configuration of a booth and its booth spaces.

In the default view, a Customize Booth bar is visible at the top of the page, consisting of:

How to customize the booth’s entryway

Note: The booth banner's maximum size is 4000x710 pixels and cannot exceed 20 MB.

Customize the booth entryway’s color

  1. Access the booth you want to customize.
    Your expo avatar will also be placed at the booth’s entryway (Welcome to [Booth Name] space).
  2. In the booth’s entryway, click the booth entryway’s banner.
    The Booth Banner label and booth element customization tools will appear on the booth’s entryway.
  3. On the booth element customization tools, select the color tool.
    Color options will appear.
  4. Select from the predefined color options.
  5. (Optional) To add a Custom Colors option, click the add button .
    1. Using the color picker menu, select the color, transparency, and if the color is solid or gradient.
    2. Once finished, click Add Color.
      Your custom color option will appear in the color tool’s options.

Once you select a color from the color tool, the booth entryway will change to your selected color. To change the color, select the color tool and select the new color that you want.

Customize the booth’s entryway’s background image

  1. Access the booth you want to customize.
    Your expo avatar will also be placed at the booth’s entryway (Welcome to [Booth Name] space).
  2. In the booth’s entryway, click the booth entryway’s banner.
    The Booth Banner label and booth element customization tools will appear on the booth’s entryway.
  3. On the booth element customization tools, select the background image icon .
    A Booth Banner Image pop-up box will appear.
  4. In the pop-up box, click + Add an image.
  5. Select an image to upload.
    Note: Upload JPG/JPEG/PNG files only, with a maximum image size of 20 MB.

Once your image is uploaded, the booth entryway will change to the uploaded image.

Edit the booth entryway’s background image

  1. Upload a background image for a booth’s entryway.
  2. Once a background image has been uploaded, click the background image icon .
    The Booth Banner Image pop-up box will appear.
  3. In the pop-up box, do the following actions:
    • Click the pencil icon  to edit and upload another image.
    • Click the trash icon  to delete the uploaded image.

How to edit booth info

Note: You can only edit expo booth information; you must return to the Exhibitors tab in the event creation flow to edit exhibitor/sponsor information.

  1. Access the booth you want to customize.
    Your expo avatar will also be placed at the booth’s entryway (Welcome to [Booth Name] space).
  2. Click the expo booth profile card.
    A menu will appear with a list of booth info card elements:
    • Edit Booth Info: When you click this button, you will be redirected to the profile configuration.
    • Links: Displays the links and social media URLs you added to this booth.
    • Description: Displays the booth description.
    • Representatives: Displays the booth representatives.
  3. To the right of each booth info card element, click the eye icon  to make the Description, Links, or Representatives visible or hidden  from attendees on the booth info card.

How to rename a booth space

  1. Access the booth you want to customize.
    Your expo avatar will also be placed at the booth’s entryway (Welcome to [Booth Name] space).
  2. On the booth space that you want to rename, to the left of the Join button, click the Space Name area to edit it.
  3. Enter a space name for the booth space.
  4. Press Enter to confirm the change.

How to change an inactive space image

When a representative is not present, attendees cannot join a booth space. You can edit attendees will see in an inactive booth space.

  1. Access the booth you want to customize.
    Your expo avatar will also be placed at the booth’s entryway (Welcome to [Booth Name] space).
  2. Click the booth space with the inactive space image you want to change.
    The edit and delete tools will appear above the booth space.
  3. Click the pencil icon  to edit.
    An Edit Booth Space pop-up box will appear.
  4. In the pop-up box, under Inactive Space Image, click the pencil icon  on the space’s image.
  5. Upload the image you want for the inactive booth space.
    Your uploaded image will appear in the pop-up box.
  6. (Optional) In the Edit Booth Space pop-up box, click Preview Inactive State.
    You can preview how your inactive booth space’s uploaded image appears to attendees.
    1. In the Edit Booth Space pop-up box, click Hide Inactive State to exit preview mode.

How to delete a booth space

  1. Access the booth you want to customize.
    Your expo avatar will also be placed at the booth’s entryway (Welcome to [Booth Name] space).
  2. Click the booth space that you want to delete.
    The edit and delete tools will appear above the booth space.
  3. Click the trash icon  to delete the booth space.
    A confirmation window will appear.
  4. In the confirmation window, click Delete to confirm.
