Assigning Zoom United or Zoom One plans using Okta provisioning (SCIM API)


Automatic provisioning of Zoom United or Zoom One Licensing with Okta user management requires additional configuration once User Management with Zoom has been set up.

When configuring Okta for the Zoom One Enterprise or Zoom One Enterprise+ plan types, the default Okta configuration does not need to be changed.

Custom attribute lookup

Refer to the Developer documentation for SCIM2 (automated provisioning) for the following:

Add custom attributes

  1. In Okta Console left navigation panel, go to Applications.
  2. Click the name of your Zoom app.
  3. Click the Provisioning tab.
  4. Clear the Create Users, Update User Attributes, and Deactivate Users checkboxes.
    Note: This is to ensure that Okta does not attempt to sync while making changes to the Zoom profile.
  5. Click Go to Profile Editor then Add Attribute.
  6. Configure the fields depending on your current plan by referring to the custom attribute reference table below.
  7. Click Save.
  8. Go back to Applications.
  9. Click the name of your Zoom app.
  10. Click the Provisioning tab.
  11. Select the Create Users, Update User Attributes, and Deactivate Users checkboxes.

    ScopeNote: It is recommended to disable the User personal check box so admins can assign this attribute based on Okta groups and only select it if a source attribute has been created as the plan for each user.

Assign plan to groups

Once you have added the customer attribute, you can proceed with assigning this attribute based on Okta groups.
Note: User(s) must be assigned to the Zoom app in Okta as Licensed.

  1. In Okta Console, go to Applications.
  2. Click the name of your Zoom app.
  3. Click the Assignments tab.
  4. Click Assign then Assign to Groups.
  5. In the Assign to Groups window, search for the appropriate group then click Assign.
  6. Select the plan you wish to assign then click Save and Go Back.
  7. Click Done.
  8. (Optional) Sign in to the Zoom web portal and verify that the plan was assigned accordingly under User Management. If you are an account owner or a user with the user activities reports role, you can also check the Admin Activity Logs.
