April 2022: Zoom Phone License Notification


Starting April 1, 2022, Zoom is requiring account owners and admins with users on old Zoom Phone calling plans to move them to an active plan. To ensure you do not lose important user profile information, please follow these steps to assign active calling plans and remove old calling plans.

How to assign an active calling plan to a phone user

  1. Sign in to the Zoom web portal.
  2. In the navigation menu, click Phone System Management then Users & Rooms.
  3. Locate a phone user with a calling package labeled with Inactive.
  4. Click Assign then Assign Package in the last column.
  5. Select a calling package and click Confirm and Assign Numbers.
  6. If you want to assign a direct phone number to Zoom, select a phone number and click Confirm. Otherwise, click Skip.
  7. Follow these steps to remove the old calling plan.

How to assign active calling plans to several users

  1. Sign in to the Zoom web portal.
  2. In the navigation menu, click Phone System Management then Users & Rooms.
  3. Select phone users with a calling package labeled with Inactive.
  4. Click Assign Packages at the top of the user list, select a package, then click Confirm.

How to batch assign active calling plans using a CSV file

Follow the instructions to update existing phone users using a CSV file.

When updating the CSV file, make sure you specify an active calling plan in the Package (Required) field for any phone users with an invalid calling plan.

Note: Old calling plans are not labeled with Invalid in the CSV file. Access the phone user list in the web portal to see phone users with invalid calling plans.

How to remove an old calling plan from a phone user

Important: Only remove an old calling plan after assigning an active calling plan using one of the methods above. If you remove an old calling plan before assigning an active one, any phone numbers and associated settings will also be removed from the phone user.

  1. Sign in to the Zoom web portal.
  2. In the navigation menu, click Phone System Management then Users & Rooms.
  3. Locate a phone user with a calling package labeled with Inactive.
  4. Click Assign then Assign Package in the last column.
  5. Click close icon (✖) next to the calling plan labeled with Inactive.
  6. Click Confirm.
