Livestreaming Zoom Events meetings and webinars

Note: When closed caption translation is enabled, the language displayed in the lobby livestreaming window matches users’ language preferences. Zoom Events supports localization for global users.

Requirements for livestreaming Zoom Events

• Zoom desktop app for Windows, macOS, or Linux: Global minimum version or higher
• Zoom mobile app for Android or iOS: Global minimum version or higher
• Pro, Business, Enterprise, or Education account
• Stripe or PayPal Business account is required to create paid events
• Zoom Events Unlimited license or Zoom Events Pay Per Attendee license

How to livestream sessions to the event lobby

To start livestreaming your meeting or webinar session to the event lobby:

1. Set up livestreaming for your event's session(s).
2. Join the session you are a host of before its scheduled start time.
   When you join the meeting, the Start Livestream to Zoom Events Lobby pop-up message appears at the top of the window.
3. Click Start when you want to start livestreaming your session to the event lobby.
   • If you click Not Now, you can start livestreaming to the event lobby at a later time:
     1. In the meeting controls, click More.
     2. Click Start Livestream to Zoom Events Lobby.

Once you have initiated livestreaming to the event lobby, you will receive the following messages:

• Preparing Livestream: Your session is being prepared to livestream to the event lobby.
• Meeting is now streaming live to Zoom Events Lobby: Your session is livestreaming to the event lobby. This message will disappear after 10 seconds.

How to livestream sessions to Facebook

1. Sign in to Zoom Events.
2. Join the session you are a host of and will livestream to Facebook.

How to livestream sessions to YouTube

1. Sign in to Zoom Events.
2. Join the session you are a host of and will livestream to YouTube.

How to livestream sessions to Twitch

1. Sign in to Zoom Events.
2. Join the session you are a host of and will livestream to Twitch.

How to livestream sessions to a custom platform

1. Sign in to Zoom Events.
2. Join the session you are a host of and will livestream to a custom platform.

Note: Your account must have this feature enabled to use this feature. Contact your account administrator to enable the Custom Livestream Streaming Service for your account if this option is not available.

Embed a livestream on your website

You can embed a live event stream directly on your website using an inline frame (iframe), so attendees can watch without leaving your site. This doesn't require RTMP setup. The embed option is built into the Zoom Events setup flow.

Note: Authentication for the embed player supports SSO integration with your Zoom account. This setting is separate from the event link's own authentication setting.

To set up an embeddable livestream, do the following:

1. Sign in to Zoom Events.
2. Create or edit a single-session or multi-session event.
3. In the event setup flow, select the embed option based on the type of event:
   • Single session: Go to Live session > Embed controls
   • Multi-session: Go to Event experience > Lobby > Embed livestream
   Note: A notification confirms that embeddable livestream usage is metered. When your license reaches capacity, additional viewers are blocked unless your license type is Pay-Per-Attendee with overage enabled.
4. Configure the embed settings:
   • Embedding size: Set custom dimensions or select responsive
   • Allow full screen: Enable or disable full screen for viewers
   • Default language for closed captions: Select the default caption language
5. (Optional) Configure additional settings if available:
   • Trusted domain: Restrict the livestream to play only on approved domains
   • Before/after livestream experience: Upload a custom image or video to display before or after the livestream
   • Auto start or manual start: Choose whether the stream starts automatically or when you start it manually
   • Branding on player: Upload a logo
   • Multiple embed configurations: Create different embeds with different settings (for example, one in English and another in Japanese)
6. (Optional) Enable authentication for the embed player. Viewers sign in through SSO without leaving your site. This setting is separate from the event link's own authentication.
7. Copy the iframe embed code and add it to your website.
   Note: Before going live, you can preview how the embedded player looks on your site in the embed settings.

You can track viewer engagement for your embedded livestream which includes the viewer count, viewer by session, watch length per viewer, and total watch length.

Note: When SSO is not enabled, viewers are identified using cookies. When SSO is enabled, viewers are identified using their credentials.
