Using desk phone call control
Admins or phone users can enable or disable desktop app call control for desk phones. Call control allows users to perform desk phone call control actions from the Zoom desktop app, including making and accepting calls.
When using desk phone call control, the Zoom desktop app is used as a remote control to tell your desk phone what to do. The following call controls are supported. For example, if you make a call using the desktop app, the app acts as a controller so Zoom will make the call using the desk phone.

How to enable or disable desktop app call control
Admins or phone users have access to enable or disable call control. Admins can enable or disable it using policy settings or user settings; alternatively, phone users can enable or disable it using their own phone settings.
Notes:
- All three settings are at the desk phone settings level and sync with each other. For example, if an admin enables using the desk phone policy setting, it will be enabled in the other two locations.
- The policy setting doesn't need to be enabled by the admin in order for phone users to enable or disable their own setting.
Desk phone policy setting (admins)
- Sign in to the Zoom web portal.
- In the navigation menu, click Phone System Management then Phones & Devices.
- Click the Assigned tab.
- Click the display name of the phone or device you want to edit.
- Click the Policy tab.
- Click the Call Control from Zoom Desktop Client toggle to enable or disable it for the desk phone.
Phone user setting (admins)
- Sign in to the Zoom web portal.
- In the navigation menu, click Phone System Management then Users & Rooms.
- Click the name of the phone user you want to edit.
- Click the User Settings tab.
- In the Desk Phone(s) section, select or unselect the Allow Call Control From Client checkbox below the desk phone's display name.
Phone setting (phone user)
- Sign in to the Zoom web portal.
- Click Phone.
- Click the Settings tab.
- In the Desk Phone(s) section, select or unselect the Allow Call Control From Client checkbox below the desk phone's display name.
How to manage desk phones with call control
Before you use call control, you need to use the desktop app to select the desk phones that are allowed to use call control.
- Sign in to the Zoom desktop app.
- Click your profile picture then click Settings.
- Click the Phone tab.
- Next to Call Control, click Manage.
- Select the check box for desk phones allowed to use desk phone call control. Alternatively, you can unselect the check box for desk phones not allowed to use call control.
- Click Save.
- Click Allow to confirm.

- You will see a desk phone icon
in the top-right corner below your profile picture. Hover over the icon to view the connection status. - Note: If you're using the Zoom Assistant, you will see the desk phone icon
in your widget. When making or receiving calls using the widget, the desk phone will be used.
