Livestreaming meetings or webinars on Twitch
You can stream a Zoom webinar or meeting live on Twitch. This allows your participants to join through Zoom or as viewers to watch and comment on Twitch.
Requirements for Twitch livestreaming
Streaming for meetings
- Pro, Business, Education, or Enterprise account
- The host is Licensed
- Zoom desktop client
- Windows: version 5.10.0 or higher
- macOS: version 5.10.0 or higher
- Group HD video/Full HD (1080p) is enabled for higher video quality
Streaming for webinars
- Pro, Business, Education, or Enterprise account
- The host is assigned a Webinar license
- Zoom desktop client
- Windows: version 5.10.0 or higher
- macOS: version 5.10.0 or higher
- Group HD video/Full HD (1080p) is enabled for higher video quality
How to enable or disable Twitch livestreaming for meetings
Account
To enable or disable Twitch livestreaming for all users in the account:
- Sign in to the Zoom web portal as an admin with the privilege to edit account settings.
- In the navigation menu, click Account Management then Account Settings.
- Click the Meeting tab.
- Under In Meeting (Advanced), click the Allow livestreaming of meetings toggle to enable or disable it.
- If a verification dialog displays, click Enable or Disable to verify the change.
- Select the Twitch check box and click Save to confirm the change.
- (Optional) To prevent all users in your account from changing this setting, click the lock icon , and then click Lock to confirm the setting.
Group
To enable or disable Twitch livestreaming for a group of users:
- Sign in to the Zoom web portal as an admin with the privilege to edit groups.
- In the navigation menu, click User Management then Groups.
- Click the applicable group name from the list.
- Click the Meeting tab.
- Under In Meeting (Advanced), click the Allow livestreaming of meetings toggle to enable or disable it.
- If a verification dialog displays, click Enable or Disable to verify the change.
Note: If the option is grayed out, it has been locked at the account level and needs to be changed at that level. - Select the Twitch check box and click Save to confirm the change.
- (Optional) To prevent all users in the group from changing this setting, click the lock icon , and then click Lock to confirm the setting.
User
To enable or disable Twitch livestreaming for your own use:
- Sign in to the Zoom web portal.
- In the navigation menu, click Settings.
- Click the Meeting tab.
- Under In Meeting (Advanced), click the Allow livestreaming of meetings toggle to enable or disable it.
- If a verification dialog displays, click Enable or Disable to verify the change.
Note: If the option is grayed out, it has been locked at either the group or account level. You need to contact your Zoom admin. - Select the Twitch check box and click Save to confirm the change.
How to enable or disable Twitch livestreaming for webinars
Account
To enable or disable Twitch livestreaming for all users in the account:

User
To enable or disable Twitch livestreaming for your own use:
- Sign in to the Zoom web portal.
- In the navigation menu, click Settings.
- Click the Webinar tab.
- Under In Webinar, click the Allow livestreaming toggle to enable or disable it.
- If a verification dialog displays, click Enable or Disable to verify the change.
Note: If the option is grayed out, it has been locked at either the group or account level. You need to contact your Zoom admin. - Select the Twitch check box and click Save to confirm the change.
How to live stream to Twitch
Directly stream from a meeting or webinar
- Start your webinar or meeting.
- In the meeting/webinar controls, click More.
- Click Live on Twitch.
- Your default browser will open and you will be prompted to log into Twitch, if you aren't already logged in.
If you are livestreaming to this Twitch account for the first time, you will be prompted to authorize Zoom access to your Twitch account. - Click Authorize to continue.
- Provide a title for the livestream on Twitch and then click Go Live!.
Zoom will connect with Twitch and prepare the livestream. A notification on the Zoom client will appear to confirm your session is live on Twitch. - On the notification, click Got It to confirm.
Streaming stops when you end the session or click the Stop Live Stream on the Zoom client.
Stream to Twitch as a custom livestream
- Enable Custom Live Streaming for your meetings or webinars.
- Open the web page of the meeting or webinar you want to stream from.
- In the Live Streaming tab, click Configure live stream settings.
- In a separate tab or browser window, sign in to your Twitch account.
- In the top right corner of the page, click on your profile page and click Settings.
- Click the Channels and Videos tab.
- On the left panel under Settings, click Stream.
- Next to Primary Stream key, click Copy to capture your Twitch Stream key.
- Paste the stream key into the Zoom window under Stream Key.
- As the Stream URL in Zoom, use rtmp://live.twitch.tv/app/ .
- Lastly on Twitch, click your profile again and click Channel.
- Copy the URL for your Twitch profile, into the Live streaming page URL on the Zoom window.
- (Optional) In the Zoom window, under Resolution, select Full HD (1080P) when streaming a meeting/webinar if the setting’s value is 1080p.
- In the Zoom Configure Custom Streaming Service window, click Save.
- Start your Zoom meeting or webinar when you are ready to begin the event.
- In the meeting controls, click More and select Live on Custom Live Streaming Service.
Tips for livestreaming on Twitch
- Processing time
There is a processing time of approximately 20 seconds for Twitch, so participants watching on Twitch will see the same content approximately 20 seconds after participants watching on Zoom. - Audio echo
If you have the Twitch window open on your computer, you will hear your audio playback to you approximately 20 seconds delayed. If you need to keep the Twitch window open to view and reply to comments, mute the video. - Video layout
You can change the meeting or webinar video layout to determine how participants watching on Twitch view your live stream.
- Speaker view: Only the speaker's video will appear on the video window. If there are multiple speakers, the video window will switch between the speakers' videos.
- Gallery view: Any participant on Zoom will appear as a thumbnail display in a grid pattern if their video is on. If any participant's video is off, they will not show up for participants watching on Twitch.
Note: We recommend using Gallery view if there are multiple speakers with their video on. - When screen sharing, the shared content appears in the large video window, and the speaker's video appears as a thumbnail if their video is on. If the speaker's video is off, only the shared content can be viewed by participants on Twitch.
