Configuring Personal Audio Conference


Personal Audio Conference (PAC) allows paid subscribers to host meetings through PSTN (phone dial-in) only. The PAC conference ID is a predetermined 10 or 11-digit conference ID that can be started by the host (or participant who knows the host key) by entering the host key provided on your profile page when prompted by the auto-attendant.

How to enable or disable Personal Audio Conference

Account

To enable or disable Personal Audio Conference for all users in the account:

  1. Sign in to the Zoom web portal as an admin with the privilege to edit account settings.
  2. In the navigation panel, click Account Management then Account Settings.
  3. Click the Audio Conferencing tab.
  4. Click the Personal Audio Conference toggle to enable or disable it.
  5. If a verification dialog displays, click Enable or Disable to verify the change.
  6. (Optional) If you want to make this setting mandatory for all users in your account, click the lock icon , and then click Lock to confirm the setting.
    Note: If you enable and lock PAC, users will not have to take the additional step to enable PAC. If not locked, each user will need to open the Personal Audio Conference page to perform initial activation. 

Group

To enable or disable Personal Audio Conference for a group of users:

  1. Sign in to the Zoom web portal as an admin with the privilege to edit groups..
  2. In the navigation panel, click User Management then Groups.
  3. Click the applicable group name from the list.
  4. Click the Audio Conferencing tab.
  5. Click the Personal Audio Conference toggle to enable or disable it.
  6. If a verification dialog displays, click Enable or Disable to verify the change.
    Note: If the option is grayed out, it has been locked at the account level and needs to be changed at that level.
  7. (Optional) If you want to make this setting mandatory for all users in the group, click the lock icon , and then click Lock to confirm the setting.
    Note: If you enable and lock PAC, users will not have to take the additional step to enable PAC. If not locked, each user will need to open the Personal Audio Conference page to perform initial activation. 

User

To enable or disable Personal Audio Conference for your own use:

  1. Sign in to the Zoom web portal.
  2. In the navigation panel, click Settings.
  3. Click the Audio Conferencing tab.
  4. Click the Personal Audio Conference toggle to enable or disable it.
  5. If a verification dialog displays, click Enable or Disable to verify the change.
    Notes:
    • If the option is grayed out, it has been locked at either the group or account level. You need to contact your Zoom admin.
    • After enabled in Settings, users will need to open the Personal Audio Conference page to perform initial activation. 

How to configure your dial-in numbers and participant passcodes

To view and edit your PAC meeting IDs, global dial-in numbers, and auto-generated invitation text.

If you want to add a passcode to your PAC meeting ID, you can add a 6-digit numerical passcode. You also have the option to add a listen-only passcode which will allow the participants who use this passcode to listen to your conference but not speak.

Note: You must enable a participant passcode before you can add a participant or listen-only passcode.

  1. Sign in to the Zoom web portal.
  2. In the navigation menu, click Personal Audio Conference.
  3. If this is your first time using PAC, click Enable Personal Audio Conference.
    You will be provided with the following details, which are configurable:
    • Global Dial-In Numbers (toll-free and fee-based according to your selection): Select dial-in numbers to you want to include in the invitation email.
      • (Optional) If you want to include a link to a full list of international numbers available for your account in the meeting invitation, select the Show international numbers link on the invitation email check box at the bottom of the dial-in numbers list.
    • Conference ID: Displays the conference ID participants need to dial to join the conference.
    • Participant Passcode: If PAC passcode is enabled, you will see the passcode that participants need to dial to join the conference. Click Show then Change to change the passcode.
    • Listen-Only Passcode: Participants that uses this passcode can only listen during the conference. If you don't have a passcode, click Add to enter one. Click Show then Change to change the passcode.
      Note: You must have a participant passcode before you can add a listen-only passcode.

Once your Personal Audio Conference (PAC) is enabled, you can start hosting your personal audio conference meetings.
