Enabling audio type

Selecting the correct audio conferencing option, determines how participants can join the audio portion of the meeting. When joining audio, you can let them choose to use their computer microphone/speaker or use a telephone. You can also limit them to just one of those audio types. If you have 3rd party audio enabled, you can require that all participants follow the instructions you provide for using non-Zoom audio.

Note: For Free account, Computer Audio is the only Audio Type available.

How to enable audio for the account

  1. Sign in to the Zoom web portal.
  2. From the navigation panel, select Account Management then Account Settings.
  3. Click the Meeting tab.
  4. To enable Audio type, click the audio option that you want to use.
  5. Click Save
  6. (Optional) If you want to make this setting mandatory for all members of the entire account, click the lock icon and in the Lock "Audio type" pop-up window, click Lock .

How to enable audio for a group in the account

  1. Sign in to the Zoom web portal.
  2. From the navigation panel, select User Management then Group Management.
  3. Select the desired group.
  4. Click the Meeting tab.
  5. To enable Audio type, click the audio option that you want to use.
  6. Click Save
  7. (Optional) If you want to make this setting mandatory for all members of the entire account, click the lock icon and in the Lock "Audio type" pop-up window, click Lock .

How to enable audio as a host

  1. Sign in to the Zoom web portal.
  2. From the navigation panel, select Settings.
  3. Click the Meeting tab.
  4. To enable Audio type, click the audio option that you want to use.
  5. Click Save
    Note:  If Audio type is disabled and locked,  contact your account administrator.
