Enabling the Zoom Phone Local Survivability service


The Zoom Phone Local Survivability (ZPLS) module leverages the platform and OS provided by Zoom Node to allow organizations to have an on-premise failover for their Zoom Phone system. Once deployed, the service can be enabled at the account, group, or individual Zoom Phone user levels.

How to enable the Zoom Phone Local Survivability service

Account

To enable or disable Zoom Phone Local Survivability for all users in the account:

  1. Sign in to the Zoom web portal.
  2. In the navigation menu, click Node Management then click Modules.
  3. Click the drop-down button , and click Phone Local Survivability.
  4. Click on the Services tab.
  5. Locate the Local Survivability service,  and ensure the service Status is running.
  6. In the Navigation menu, click Phone System Management, then click Company Info.
  7. Click Account Settings.
  8. Under Zoom Node, enable Local Survivability.

Group

To enable or disable Zoom Phone Local Survivability for a group of users:

  1. Sign in to the Zoom web portal.
  2. In the navigation menu, click Node Management then click Modules.
  3. Click the drop-down button , and click Phone Local Survivability.
  4. Click on the Services tab.
  5. Locate the Local Survivability service,  and ensure the service Status is running.
  6. In the navigation menu, click User Management then Groups.
  7. Click the applicable group name from the list.
  8. Click the Zoom Phone tab.
  9. Click the Local Survivability Mode toggle to enable or disable it.
  10. If a verification dialog displays, click Enable or Disable to verify the change.
    Note: If the option is grayed out, it has been locked at the account level and needs to be changed at that level.
  11. (Optional) To prevent all users in the group from changing this setting, click the lock icon , and then click Lock to confirm the setting.

User

To enable or disable Zoom Phone Local Survivability at the individual user level:

  1. Sign in to the Zoom web portal.
  2. In the navigation menu, click Node Management then click Modules.
  3. Click the drop-down button , and click Phone Local Survivability.
  4. Click on the Services tab.
  5. Locate the Local Survivability service,  and ensure the service Status is running.
  6. In the navigation menu, click Phone System Management.
  7. Click the Users & Rooms.
  8. Click on the name of the phone user.
  9. Click the Policy tab.
  10. Click the Local Survivability Mode toggle to enable or disable it.
  11. If a verification dialog displays, click Enable or Disable to verify the change.
    Note: If the option is grayed out, it has been locked at either the group level.
