Converting a Yealink phone to an appliance

Admins can convert a supported Yealink phone to a Zoom Phone Appliance, allowing the assigned phone user to use the phone as a Zoom Phone Appliance. You can also convert a Yealink back to Zoom SIP mode to provision it with Zoom Phone instead of using it as a Zoom Phone Appliance.

Note: If you want to convert a Yealink VP59 that's already provisioned in Zoom Phone, follow the simplified process to convert it to a Zoom Phone Appliance.

How to convert to a Zoom Phone Appliance

Note: If you are prompted for a license, you can obtain one directly from your Yealink portal or you can reach out to Yealink support if you have difficulties locating the license. You will need to provide the MAC address of the phone. 6. Download the Yealink Zoom App firmware VP59_9.0-91.30.0.25.rom.

  10. Navigate to Settings then Upgrade.
  11. In the Upgrade section, click Browse, select the Yealink firmware file, then click Upload.
May take a few minutes to update the firmware. Do not power off the phone. Once the firmware is done installing, the phone will reboot.
  12. After the phone reboots, select the language and set the PIN.
The phone will be in Zoom Phone Appliance mode. For more information, see the getting started guide for Zoom Phone Appliances.
