Release notes for Zoom Rooms
Zoom provides up-to-date release notes for Zoom Rooms on all supported platforms: Windows, macOS, Appliances, iPad, iPad Controller, Android Controller, Windows Attached Controller, and Web Controller. This article contains information about recent changes, including new and enhanced features, updates to existing features, and bug fixes. Additionally, you can find information about upcoming changes (if available) and view previous software updates through the minimum app version.

Zoom smart name tags highlight individual participants in a Zoom Room and display their name in the meeting video. Once enabled, Zoom will detect the meeting participant's faces and apply generic name tags (e.g. "Participant 1") or automatically apply names of the users who have pre-enrolled with an image. The meeting information displayed when a user presses the green shield icon on a Zoom Rooms controller or touch display now notes when the Zoom Room is connecting to a meeting hosted in the meeting host's own data center.

Beginning with Zoom Rooms for macOS 6.1.0, macOS 10.15+ is required for third-party interoperability with Microsoft Teams and Google Meet. Devices using older versions of macOS will no longer be able to use third-party meeting interoperability features. - Check in/reserve a workspace with a USB connection - Android zrc
Users can connect to specific Workspace devices (Logitech Dock Flex) using a USB-C cable to a laptop. When doing so, they can be automatically checked into their reservation. If there is no reservation, a reservation will be made on their behalf. - Yealink A24 bluetooth support - Appliances

Zoom has been upgraded to support post-quantum end-to-end encryption (PQ E2EE). PQ E2EE in Zoom meetings is designed to withstand the threat of an adversary who can capture the encrypted network traffic, hoping to acquire a quantum computer in the future and use it to decrypt the captured data. Zoom Rooms will display updated badges and visuals to indicate when PQ E2EE is active in meetings. As users update their Zoom Rooms to version 6.1.0 or higher, all end-to-end encrypted meetings will start leveraging our latest post-quantum end-to-end encryption protocol. If PQ E2EE is unsupported by any participant's device, the meeting will default to standard end-to-end encryption (E2EE) when enabled. - Removed host requirement when using NDI® output from Zoom Rooms - Win, Mac, iOS zrc, Android zrc, Win zrc, Web zrc

Administrators can set the PTZ positions of a connected NDI camera and save or recall presets, just like with USB cameras. Multi-speaker view layout has been modified to reduce animations, reduce unnecessary view changes, and increase the time a previously-speaking participant will remain at largest displayed size before they are moved to a smaller displayed size. - AI Companion enhancements - Win, Mac, Appliances, iPad zr, iOS zrc, Android zrc, Win zrc, Web zrc
AI Companion has received several enhancements. Meeting Summary and Meeting Questions are now both enabled or disabled in tandem when AI Companion is toggled on or off from the Zoom Rooms controller. In addition, users in the Zoom Room can choose to delete all meeting assets saved by AI Companion when it is disabled from the Zoom Rooms controller. Lastly, users can receive or send requests to enable AI Companion while in a Zoom meeting. - Boundary Framing for Intelligent Director - Win, Mac, iOS zrc, Android zrc, Win zrc, Web zrc
Administrators can set a boundary for the detection area of Intelligent Director. The question & answer (Q&A) feature allows Zoom Rooms users to ask questions during the session, and for the host and co-hosts to answer their questions privately, publicly, or mark them as something to be answered live. - Show chat on display enhancement - iOS zrc, Android zrc, Win zrc, Web zrc

Meeting hosts using the Zoom Desktop application can customize the wallpaper in their meetings, adding more color and customization to their meeting view. Administrators can allow Zoom Rooms to display meeting poll overlays and configure their behavior. Once enabled, meeting hosts can enable or disable the poll overlay, which will display poll results on each participant’s video tile on the Zoom Room. - Closed Captions mismatch indicator - Win, Mac, Appliances, iPad zr, iOS zrc, Android zrc, Win zrc, Web zrc
The mismatch indicator will show when the spoken language in-meeting does not match the language configured for the CC settings.

Using the Zoom Rooms controller, administrators can review camera statistics such as capture resolution, camera mode, and frames per second performance of connected cameras. - Auto accept for consent and notification dialogues - Win, Mac, Appliances, iPad zr
Administrators can designate Zoom Rooms that will automatically accept consent and notification dialogues. When this feature is enabled, admins are prompted to acknowledge their responsibility for obtaining consent from their users. - Extend a scheduled meeting - Win, Mac, Appliances, iOS zrc, Android zrc, Win zrc, Web zrc
If an administrator has enabled the automatically start/stop scheduled Zoom Room meeting feature, a notification will appear ten minutes before the meeting is automatically ended. Administrators can configure this new setting to allow users to extend the meeting for ten minutes if no other meeting is scheduled after the current meeting in progress. - Hide participant count - Win, Mac, Appliances, iPad zr
Administrators can choose to show or hide the participant count in a Zoom Room. - Standardized meeting ending notifications - Win, Mac, Appliances, iPad zr
A notification is shown when the features Automatic stop scheduled meetings and show meeting ending reminder are enabled. These notifications will be displayed in the bottom right corner of the display, and can be dismissed manually or will be removed automatically after thirty seconds. - Configure audio state on meeting join - Win, Mac, Appliances, iPad zr
Administrators can configure their Zoom Rooms to start or join Zoom meetings in a muted state by default.
- Scheduling display features

The Scheduling Display standard layout will be modified to display as many upcoming meetings as possible so users do not need to scroll as much to see upcoming meetings. - Option to extend reservation without needing prompt - iOS zrc

Users can check into their permanently assigned desk when check-in is enabled on a scheduling display. Users can view, but not reserve other permanently assigned desks on the scheduling display. - Scheduling Display interface when hot desking is active - iOS zrc
When an account owner or admin enables the hot desking feature for a Zoom Room, which makes it a desk/workspace reservation device, the attached scheduling display will automatically switch to show the workspace/desk interface.

- Workspace Reservation features
- USB-C connectivity for workspace check-in and instant reservations - Android ZRC
When enabled by an account owner or admin, users can check in to their reserved workspaces or make instant reservations by connecting their laptop via USB-C to the workspace hardware. If the workspace is available and the user does not have a reservation, connecting the USB-C cable allows them to instantly reserve the workspace. However, if the workspace is already reserved by another user, connecting the USB-C cable will show a message that the workspace is occupied. This feature enables users to easily check in and reserve workspaces without needing to scan a QR code or manually search for available desks.
- Zoom Whiteboard
- Zoom Rooms for Touch and Companion whiteboard synchronization - Win, Mac, Appliances
If a new whiteboard is opened on a Zoom Rooms for Touch device it will also be opened on the Companion whiteboard device, if one is connected.

This feature allows individuals, groups, galleries, shared content, or active speakers to be transmitted over professional hardware connections, and if multi camera mode is enabled, up to 4 Pro AV inputs can be assigned to Zoom Room cameras. This beta feature requires enablement by an account representative, is configured under a new Web Portal setting for approved accounts, and is managed by a new Pro AV Zoom Rooms Controller which will be provided to approved beta customers on an individual basis. - HDMI as a Digital Signage source for Kiosk - Appliances
Account owners or Zoom Rooms admins can configure an Android Kiosk to switch to an HDMI input when Digital Signage is playing. This allows admins to display HDMI content in place of a playlist or other content uploaded to Zoom. Panelists can now join a Zoom Event enabled with Production Studio. When joining, panelists will see a non-produced view and get panelist specific notifications about the scene they are on and if they are going to speak next.
