New and enhanced features
- Admin Features
- Support for group and individual settings for Whiteboard AI Companion
Support for group and individual level AI Companion controls has been implemented, enabling users to manage Whiteboard AI Companion settings at a more granular level. Previously, the Whiteboard AI Companion setting was restricted to the account level. - In-meeting collaboration setting
A new control has been added to manage temporary sharing specifically within meetings, resulting in external users following the intended sharing restrictions set by the board owner's admin.
- User features
- Ability to transfer whiteboard ownership
Whiteboard users who are board owners have the ability to transfer ownership of their boards to collaborators within the same board. External ownership transfers are restricted to maintain security and integrity. When ownership is transferred, the previous owner's role shifts to that of a co-owner, allowing them to maintain involvement. Once the transfer is complete, the previous owner can choose to leave the board if they wish, ensuring a smooth transition of ownership. - Ability to attach comments to specific object
Users can add comments directly to objects on the canvas, resulting in contextual information remaining intact even if the object is moved. - Ability to live preview a color on an object
Users have the ability to preview a color in real-time by hovering over a new color in the color picker. - Support for Recent section in templates dashboard
A new Recent section has been added to the templates dashboard, providing users with a convenient way to track and access the templates they have most recently utilized. - Simplify opening a new whiteboard
Users selecting a new whiteboard will be immediately taken to the canvas, allowing them to start collaborating without the hassle of navigating through multiple dialogs and menus. - Ability to paste whiteboard images and text into other apps
When users cut or copy anything that is not text from the whiteboard, the platform will treat it as an image, which can then be pasted into applications that support images. Similarly, when users cut or copy a single text object or comment from a whiteboard, the platform will treat it as text, which can then be pasted into applications that support text. To make this process easier, the Copy as image option has been added to the context menu. - Support for active stylus
Users can enjoy a smoother and more intuitive drawing and erasing experience on the canvas with native support for active stylus devices such as Apple Pencil, Microsoft Surface Pen, Wacom Tablet, Samsung Pen, and more.

Changes to existing features
- Remove Only Allow New whiteboards when Host is in the meeting setting
Zoom is removing the Only Allow New whiteboards when Host is in the meeting setting. Account admins can control when boards are created via the Who can initiate new whiteboards in meeting setting.
New and enhanced features
- Admin Features
- Whiteboard APIs
Whiteboard APIs have been released so users and third-party developers can extend and build applications for Whiteboard.
- User features
- Support for Whiteboard charts and graphic tools
Users can easily create and present info-graphical data, summarize voting sessions, assess sentiment, and track project timelines directly on whiteboard using chart and graph object tools.
- Support for accessible Whiteboard controls on a touch display
To enhance accessibility and inclusivity in shared space Zoom rooms, users can conveniently access all Whiteboard controls on a touch display at 48 inches or lower. This ensures that, regardless of where the whiteboard is placed, controls and the drawing toolbar are comfortably within reach. - Smart connector preview
Zoom Whiteboard introduces a smart connector preview that activates when users hover over objects. This preview helps users determine whether a connector will link objects or connect to a duplicate of the same object. With this enhancement, users can create flowcharts and diagrams more quickly, saving valuable time. - Improvements to Version history and Board activity
Several improvements have been made to the Version history and Board activity. Version history has now additional restore points which allows users to restore a page to its previous state, even if users have deleted it. Users also have the ability to right-click and duplicate, and select and copy objects from previous versions. Board activity only displays activities that involve adding or deleting objects, or editing text. All other actions are no longer displayed. Multiple activities by the same user are consolidated and activities occurring within the same minute are condensed. - Enhancements to All Eyes on Me feature
The All Eyes on Me feature has undergone several improvements. Users now have additional activation options. When enabled, the entire board immediately follows along without the need for a confirmation pop-up. Furthermore, the Eyes on Me icon remains visible in the interface, even if no other users are actively using the board, ensuring consistency with the rest of the interface. - Ability to rearrange icons on the core toolbar
The current arrangement of icons on the toolbar has been improved to make the user experience more intuitive and flexible. The improvements include the ability to drag and reorder icons on the core toolbar, allowing you to prioritize your most frequently used tools. - Ability to import text or CSV file as sticky notes
Users have the ability to directly upload a comma-separated value (.csv) file to Whiteboard, where it can be inserted either as a table or sticky notes. This feature streamlines the process of transitioning content from the document editing tool to the Whiteboard canvas.
Resolved issues
Note: The Ability to share a whiteboard from Zoom Team Chat feature has been pulled from release due to issues with deployment and will be available in another upcoming release.

New and enhanced features
- Admin Features
- Improvements to activity log
Admins reviewing audit logs can access additional details including exact text that was added or updated, enhancing admins ability to monitor user activity. This detailed data is also accessible in View Activity Log panels, View Version History, and Board History where applicable.
- User features
- Whiteboard Content Generation with AI Companion
Users can leverage Zoom AI Companion with Whiteboard to unlock visual ideation for an improved Whiteboard experience. Users can generate ideas, refine and extend existing content, and add objects to a canvas with just a click.
- Independent controls for image and document uploads and file download restrictions
Users can manage image and document upload settings independently for Whiteboard. Previously, users were unable to control image and document uploads independently, as there was only one setting for both features. In addition, a new setting has been implemented, enabling more control over file downloads. This enhancement enables users to determine whether files uploaded to a whiteboard can be downloaded by external users, providing further privacy. - Upload additional supported files to whiteboard
In addition to images and PDFs, users can upload Word document and PowerPoint slides to a whiteboard. When uploading files, users can select multiple files to upload, and the system will add them all to the canvas side by side in the center of the screen near the toolbar. - Improvements to labels on connectors
Users can enhance diagrams, flowcharts, and shapes by including multiple text labels on connectors, providing a more comprehensive context. Additionally, users have the flexibility to move labels both vertically and horizontally along connectors, simplifying the label arrangement process and preventing text overlap issues.
- Hide and unhide frames
Users can hide and unhide frames on the canvas. Previously, users had no way to exclude specific frames and their content without deleting the entire frame. This feature enhances user control over whiteboard frames, offering a more flexible and straightforward experience.
- Ability to disable export options
While export settings have been expanded to incorporate CSV format, users can choose to disable export options. This provides additional settings to manage data sharing and prevent unwanted leakage and also grants users more control over content exposure.
- Enhanced viewing experience for Whiteboard in meetings
When a whiteboard is initiated during a meeting, participants will automatically have their view adjusted to fit the size of the presenter's monitor or screen. This enables all viewers, regardless of their screen dimensions, to see the entirety of the content being shared. - Ability to open same whiteboard in multiple meeting
Users can open the same whiteboard across multiple meetings or breakout rooms simultaneously. The dashboard will provide a clear indication of the whiteboard's status, letting users know if it's already in use in another meeting. Additionally, any collaborative and facilitation actions initiated in one meeting will remain distinct and private to that meeting; participants in other meetings using the same whiteboard won't see the actions of those in a separate meeting. This enables each meeting to maintain a focused and uninterrupted experience, enhancing the versatility and effectiveness of whiteboard usage across multiple sessions.
Resolved issues
Note: The Initial public APIs and webhooks
and Zoom Whiteboard APIs for archiving features have been pulled from release due to issues with deployment and will be available in another upcoming release.

This border will indicate who is actively working on the item, providing improved collaboration tracking. This helps in identifying which user is responsible for a selected object, making collaboration easier and more efficient. - Laser pointer feature

In addition, users can zoom in and out of specific areas of the board without panning, making it easier to view and locate content. These new features will improve navigation and efficiency while using our whiteboard platform. - Support for timer feature
Users can now set time constraints for specific activities using the new timer function. The timer can be set for up to 24 hours, and only whiteboard owners and editors with persistent access can use it. A pulsating edge of the screen alerts users when the timer expires. The Modified column of the Whiteboard dashboard shows the name and time of the last editor on a particular whiteboard. - Zoom Whiteboard enhancement for Slack integration
