Livestreaming meetings or webinars on a custom site
If configured by your account administrator, you can livestream a meeting or webinar to a custom platform. If you configure this before the event, you can begin streaming with one click after your webinar begins.
You can also live stream to YouTube, Twitch, Facebook, or Facebook Workplace.
Note: Livestreaming URLs must be public for Zoom to stream to these servers.

Streaming for meetings
- Pro, Business, Education, or Enterprise account
- The host is Licensed
- Zoom desktop app:
- Windows: version 4.0.29183.0407 or higher
- macOS: version 4.0.29208.0410 or higher
- Group HD video/Full HD (1080p) is enabled for higher video quality
Streaming for webinars
- Pro, Business, Education, or Enterprise account
- The host is assigned a Webinar license
- Zoom desktop app:
- Windows: version 4.0.29183.0407 or higher
- macOS: version 4.0.29208.0410 or higher
- Group HD video/Full HD (1080p) is enabled for higher video quality
How to enable custom livestreaming for meetings
Account
To enable all members of your organization to livestream meetings with a custom livestream service:
- Sign in to the Zoom web portal as an administrator with the privilege to edit account settings.
- Click Account Management and then select Account Settings.
- Click the Meeting tab.
- Under In Meeting (Advanced), verify that Allow livestreaming of meetings is enabled.
- Select the Custom Live Streaming Service check box.
- Click Save to save the changes.
- (Optional) If you want to make this setting mandatory for all users in your account, click the lock icon, and then click Lock to confirm the setting.
- (Optional) Update the instructions so that the meeting organizer can configure the required settings when they schedule the meeting.
Group
To enable all members of a specific group to livestream meetings with a custom livestream service:
- Sign in to the Zoom web portal as an administrator with the privilege to edit groups.
- Click User Management and then select Groups.
- Click the name of the group you want to edit.
- Click the Meeting tab.
- Under the In Meeting (Advanced) section, verify that Allow livestreaming of meetings is enabled.
- Select the Custom Live Streaming Service check box.
- Click Save to save the changes.
Note: If the option is grayed out, it has been locked at the account level and needs to be changed at that level. - (Optional) If you want to make this setting mandatory for all users in this group, click the lock icon and then click Lock to confirm the setting.
- (Optional) Update the instructions so that the meeting organizer can configure the required settings when they schedule the meeting.
User
To enable customer livestreaming meetings that you host.
- Sign in to the Zoom web portal.
- Click Settings.
- Click the Meeting tab.
- Under In Meeting (Advanced), verify that Allow livestreaming of meetings is enabled.
- Select the Custom Live Streaming Service check box.
- Click Save to save the changes.
Note: If the option is grayed out, it has been locked at either the group or account level, and you will need to contact your Zoom administrator to make changes. - (Optional) Update the instructions so that the meeting organizer can configure the required settings when they schedule the meeting.
How to enable custom live streaming for webinars
Account
To enable all members of your organization to livestream webinars with a custom livestream service:

User
To enable livestreaming webinars that you host with a custom livestream service:
- Sign in to the Zoom web portal.
- Click Settings.
- Click the Webinar tab.
- Under In Webinar, verify that Allow livestreaming is enabled.
- Select the Custom Live Streaming Service check box.
- Click Save to save the changes.
Note: If the option is grayed out, it has been locked at either the group or account level, and you will need to contact your Zoom administrator to make changes. - (Optional) Update the instructions so that the meeting organizer can configure the required settings when they schedule the meeting.
How to set up custom livestreaming for LinkedIn
- Sign in to the LinkedIn web portal to manage your streams page.
Note: Sign in to your LinkedIn account no sooner than an hour before your scheduled live stream. - Click Prepare to go live next to your scheduled event.
- In the LinkedIn customer stream page, under Stream settings tab, pick your region.
Note: Not all regions have a dedicated source in the Region dropdown list. If you don’t see your region, you can still go live by selecting the region closest to you. Each region is allocated a certain bandwidth, and sometimes regions run out of available bandwidth. If this happens, try selecting another region close to you. - Click Get URL.
Note:
- You’ll be able to get the RTMP URL and Stream Key one hour before your scheduled start time, we recommend creating the RTMP URL and Stream Key about 10 minutes before you go live.
- Do not close the LinkedIn custom stream page, as you'll be required to return to it after completing the additional steps from your Meetings or Webinars.
For scheduled Meetings
- Sign in to the Zoom web portal.
- Click Meetings.
- Click Schedule a Meeting and enter the required information to schedule a meeting.
- Click Save to display a set of tabs with advanced options.
- Click the Live Streaming tab, then click Configure custom streaming.
- Copy the Stream URL and Stream Key from LinkedIn’s custom stream tool, and paste them into Zoom.
- Under Live streaming page URL, copy the link for where you want to drive people to see your stream (i.e. LinkedIn Page or Profile).
- (Optional) If the livestreaming service requires authentication, enable the Custom streaming service requires authentication to broadcast. The username and password for this service will be requested during the meeting.
- (Optional) Under Resolution, select Standard HD (720P) or Full HD (1080P).
- Click Save to save your livestreaming settings.
The host will be able to livestream this meeting without needing to add these settings after the meeting begins.
For scheduled Webinars
- Sign in to the Zoom web portal.
- Click Webinars.
- Click Schedule a Webinar and enter the required information.
- Click Schedule to display a set of tabs with advanced options.
- Click the forward icon, then click the Live Streaming tab and click Configure custom streaming.
- Copy the Stream URL and Stream Key from LinkedIn’s custom stream tool, and paste them into Zoom.
- Under Live streaming page URL, copy the link for where you want to drive people to see your stream (i.e. LinkedIn Page or Profile).
- (Optional) If the livestreaming service requires authentication, enable the Custom streaming service requires authentication to broadcast. Username and password for this service will be requested during the webinar.
- (Optional) Under Resolution, select Standard HD (720P) or Full HD (1080P).
- Click Save to save your livestreaming settings.
The host will be able to livestream this webinar without needing to add these settings after the webinar begins.
How to start the custom livestream during a meeting or webinar
- Start the meeting/webinar as the host, by doing one of the following:
- From your calendar: If you have added the meeting/webinar to your calendar, click the link displayed on your calendar reminder.
- From the Zoom website:
- Sign in to Zoom, find the meeting or webinar on the Meetings or Webinars page, and click Start.
- Click the More button in the host controls then choose Livestream.
Note:
- If the organizer configured the webinar for live custom streaming, a browser window opens that shows the progress as Zoom prepares the livestream of your webinar.
- If the organizer did not set up this webinar for live custom streaming, you must enter the values provided in the instructions.
- Choose Live on Custom Live Streaming Service.
A new web page will open where you can enter the Streaming URL, Streaming key, Live streaming page URL and Resolution. - (Optional) If the livestreaming service requires authentication, enable the Custom streaming service requires authentication to broadcast. Username and password for this service will be requested during the webinar.
How to start the the livestreaming from LinkedIn
- Access the LinkedIn custom stream web portal.
- You should see a preview of your Zoom feed, your audience will not see your feed during the preview.
- Make sure to mute from the LinkedIn stream screen (this will allow you to use the microphone and speaker from your Zoom event).
- The Preview shows the live feed that you’ve connected on the LinkedIn custom stream page.
- If you're testing this stream, don't click Go live as this will broadcast the event to your audience. If you can view the preview, the the connection was successful, and you may end the Zoom session without broadcasting on LinkedIn.
- You can only stay in the preview mode for up to 10 minutes. If you do not click Go live before that, it’ll expire and you’ll have to set up a new stream again.
- Click Go live when you’re ready to live stream. This will broadcast the event to your audience.
- Click End stream when you're done streaming.
Note: The replay will be available on your LinkedIn Event page shortly after ending the stream. -
