Livestreaming meetings or webinars on a custom site

If configured by your account administrator, you can livestream a meeting or webinar to a custom platform. If you configure this before the event, you can begin streaming with one click after your webinar begins.

You can also live stream to YouTube, Twitch, Facebook, or Facebook Workplace

Note: Livestreaming URLs must be public for Zoom to stream to these servers.

How to enable custom livestreaming for meetings  

Account 

To enable all members of your organization to livestream meetings with a custom livestream service:

  1. Sign in to the Zoom web portal as an administrator with the privilege to edit account settings.
  2. Click Account Management and then select Account Settings.
  3. Click the Meeting tab.
  4. Under In Meeting (Advanced), verify that Allow livestreaming of meetings is enabled.
  5. Select the Custom Live Streaming Service check box.
  6. Click Save to save the changes.
  7. (Optional) If you want to make this setting mandatory for all users in your account, click the lock icon, and then click Lock to confirm the setting.
  8. (Optional) Update the instructions so that the meeting organizer can configure the required settings when they schedule the meeting.

Group

To enable all members of a specific group to livestream meetings with a custom livestream service:

  1. Sign in to the Zoom web portal as an administrator with the privilege to edit groups.
  2. Click User Management and then select Groups.
  3. Click the name of the group you want to edit.
  4. Click the Meeting tab.
  5. Under the In Meeting (Advanced) section, verify that Allow livestreaming of meetings is enabled.
  6. Select the Custom Live Streaming Service check box.
  7. Click Save to save the changes. 
    Note: If the option is grayed out, it has been locked at the account level and needs to be changed at that level.
  8. (Optional) If you want to make this setting mandatory for all users in this group, click the lock icon and then click Lock to confirm the setting.
  9. (Optional) Update the instructions so that the meeting organizer can configure the required settings when they schedule the meeting.

User

To enable livestreaming meetings that you host on Facebook:

  1. Sign in to the Zoom web portal.
  2. Click Settings
  3. Click the Meeting tab.
  4. Under In Meeting (Advanced), verify that Allow livestreaming of meetings is enabled.
  5. Select the Custom Live Streaming Service check box.
  6. Click Save to save the changes. 
    Note: If the option is grayed out, it has been locked at either the group or account level, and you will need to contact your Zoom administrator to make changes.
  7. (Optional) Update the instructions so that the meeting organizer can configure the required settings when they schedule the meeting.

How to enable custom live streaming for webinars  

Account

  3. Click the Meeting tab.
  4. Under In Meeting (Advanced), verify that Allow livestreaming of webinars is enabled.
  5. Select the Custom Live Streaming Service check box.
  6. Click Save to save the changes. 
  7. (Optional) If you want to make this setting mandatory for all users in your account, click the lock icon, and then click Lock to confirm the setting.
  8. (Optional) Update the instructions so that the meeting organizer can configure the required settings when they schedule the meeting.

Group

  3. Click the Meeting tab.
  4. Under In Meeting (Advanced), verify that Allow livestreaming of webinars is enabled.
  5. Select the Custom Live Streaming Service check box.
  6. Click Save to save the changes. 
    Note: If the option is grayed out, it has been locked at either the group or account level, and you will need to contact your Zoom administrator to make changes.
  7. (Optional) Update the instructions so that the meeting organizer can configure the required settings when they schedule the meeting.

How to set up custom livestreaming

Follow the sections below to set up custom live streaming for a meeting or webinar:

Meetings

  1. Sign in to the Zoom web portal.
  2. Click Meetings.
  3. Click Schedule a Meeting and enter the required information to schedule a meeting.
  4. Click Save to display a set of tabs with advanced options.
  5. Click the Live Streaming tab, then click Configure Custom Streaming Service.
  6. Follow the instructions located in the green box, which were provided by your administrator. Contact your administrator if the instructions do not include sufficient information, or enable Configure live stream during the meeting to enter the details live. 
  7. (Optional) If the livestreaming service requires authentication, enable the Custom streaming service requires authentication to broadcast. The username and password for this service will be requested during the meeting. 
  8. (Optional) Under Resolution, select Full HD (1080P) when streaming a meeting/webinar if the setting’s value is 1080p.
  9. Click Save to save your livestreaming settings.
    The host will be able to livestream this meeting without needing to add these settings after the meeting begins.

Webinars

  1. Sign in to the Zoom web portal.
  2. Click Webinars.
  3. Click Schedule a Webinar and enter the required information.
  4. Click Schedule to display a set of tabs with advanced options.
  5. Click the More tab, then click Configure Custom Streaming Service in the Live Streaming section.
  6. Follow the instructions located in the green box, which were provided by your administrator. Contact your administrator if the instructions do not include sufficient information, or enable Configure live stream during the meeting to enter the details live. 
  7. (Optional) If the livestreaming service requires authentication, enable the Custom streaming service requires authentication to broadcast. Username and password for this service will be requested during the webinar.  
  8. (Optional) Under Resolution, select Full HD (1080P) when streaming a meeting/webinar if the setting’s value is 1080p.
  9. Click Save to save your livestreaming settings.
    The host will be able to livestream this webinar without needing to add these settings after the webinar begins.

How to start the custom livestream during a meeting or webinar

To livestream your meeting or webinar to a custom platform:

  1. Start the meeting/webinar as the host, by doing one of the following:
  2. Click the More button in the host controls.
  3. Choose Live on Custom Live Stream Service.
    If the organizer configured this webinar for live custom streaming, a browser window opens that shows the progress as Zoom prepares the livestream of your webinar.
    If the organizer did not set up this webinar for live custom streaming, you must enter the values provided in the instructions.
  4. (Optional) Under Resolution, select Full HD (1080P) when streaming a meeting/webinar if the setting’s value is 1080p.
  5. If the custom live stream requires authentication, you will be prompted to enter the necessary username and password.
