You can conserve energy by dimming the Zoom Rooms Controller during non-work hours. During the configured time, the Zoom Room displays will also be black. Specify a schedule or idle time-out period for your devices so that they dim during times when the Zoom Room is not in use.

Prerequisites for using Zoom Rooms device operation time

• Role with access to Zoom Rooms
• Zoom Rooms version 5.12.0 or higher
• Zoom Rooms controller version 5.12.0 or higher
  
  • Scheduling display mode supported
• For turning off the Zoom Rooms display:
  • TV with HDMI-CEC Support
  • Single HDMI display with HDMI output requires Pulse-Eight USB-CEC adapter
  • Dual or Triple HDMI displays with Thunderbolt adapters require Pulse-Eight USB-CEC adapter and Lindy HDMI CEC Less Adapter

Note: Zoom recommends using the Device Operation Time Black Screen Mode to put TV to black screen mode instead of using HDMI-CEC. 

How to set an operating time with a schedule

1. Sign in to the Zoom web portal.
2. Click Room Management the click Zoom Rooms.
3. You can use location hierarchy to enable this setting for a specific room or location. Click Account Settings to enable it for the entire account. 
4. Scroll to the Setup section and click the toggle  next to Device Operation Time.
5. Select Control with Schedule.
6. Enter the earliest start time and the latest end time for when the room will be in use.
7. Select which day or days the room will be in use.
8. Select which devices are turned off or dimmed during the hours/days that the room is not in use. You can select the display, the controller, or both.
9. Click Save.
10. (Optional) To make the Device Operation Time mandatory for all rooms, click the lock icon .

How to set an operating time with an idle time-out period

1. Sign in to the Zoom web portal.
2. Click Room Management the click Zoom Rooms.
3. You can use location hierarchy to enable this setting for a specific room or location. Click Account Settings to enable it for the entire account. 
4. Scroll to the Setup section and click the toggle  next to Device Operation Time.
5. Select Control with Idle Time-Out.
6. Enter the amount of time that must pass before the devices automatically enter idle mode. 
7. Select which devices are turned off or dimmed during the hours/days that the room is not in use. You can select the display, the controller, or both.
8. Click Save.
9. (Optional) To make the Device Operation Time mandatory for all rooms, click the lock icon .
