Sending animated GIFs using GIPHY


You can find and send GIFs using GIPHY without leaving the Zoom Team Chat window. You can also search for GIFs that match a keyword and click the one you want to share in your chat.

Note: Your GIPHY content may be restricted to the content rating set by the account owner or admin.

Prerequisites for sending GIFs in Zoom Team Chat

Note: You can't send animated GIFs using GIPHY if your admin enabled advanced chat encryption.

How to send an animated GIF using GIPHY

Search and send animated GIFs using GIPHY

  1. Sign in to the Zoom desktop client.
  2. Click the Team Chat tab .
  3. Select the contact, group chat, or channel you want to send a GIF to.
  4. Below the chat compose box, click Emoji .
  5. Click GIF.
  6. In the search box, enter a word to search for a GIF image.
    Up to 6 GIFs will appear.
  7. Click the GIF image you want to send.
    The GIF will appear in your chat window.
  8. (Optional) To remove a GIF image from your chat window (before you send it), hover your mouse over the GIF image, then click the X button .
  9. (Optional) Enter any text to accompany the screenshot.
  10. Press Enter to send.

Any GIF image you send or receive can be saved to your favorites. Hover your mouse near the GIF image, click the ellipsis button , and select Add to Emojis to add it to your favorite emojis.

Access your favorite GIFs and images

You can access and select GIFs and other images that you’ve favorited, to be sent again to others.

  1. Sign in to the Zoom desktop client.
  2. Click the Team Chat tab .
  3. Select a contact, group chat, or channel.
  4. At the bottom right of the chat window, click the smiley face icon .
  5. Click or tap the heart icon  to view your list of saved GIFs.
  6. (Optional) Tap a saved GIF or other image to add it to the selected message.
  7. (Optional) In the bottom right corner, click Edit to access the following options:
    1. Upload emoji: Choose a locally saved GIF or other image file to be uploaded
    2. Delete emoji: Click one or more favorites to select, then click Delete Selected.

  1. Sign in to the Zoom Web App.
  2. Click the Team Chat tab .
  3. Select the contact, group chat, or channel you want to send a GIF to.
  4. Below the chat compose box, click Emoji.
  5. Click GIF.
  6. In the search box, enter a word to search for a GIF image.
    Up to 6 GIFs will appear.
  7. Click the GIF image you want to send.
    The GIF will appear in your chat window.

Any GIF image you send or receive can be saved to your favorites. Long-tap the GIF image and tap Save as Emoji  to add it to your favorite emojis

  7. (Optional) Tap the gear icon  to access the following options:
    • Add option : Choose a locally saved GIF or other image file to be uploaded.
    • Tap one or more favorites to select, then tap Delete to remove the favorites images.
