Using the Emergency Call Notifications app
Zoom’s Emergency Call Notification app enables you to configure any Zoom Team Chat channel as an internal safety team channel and to integrate with Zoom Rooms and Zoom Digital Signage. The app sends emergency call notifications to the designated channel. Safety team members can then post emergency alerts and instructions to specific Zoom Rooms and Zoom Digital Signage.

Prerequisites for using Emergency Call Notifications
- Pro, Business, Education, or Enterprise account
- Account owner or admin privileges*
- Zoom Phone license
- Zoom Rooms license
- Active Zoom Room or Digital Signage devices with location data configured
Note: If the admin user that added the app to the account loses admin access, is deleted, disassociated, or deactivated, emergency call notifications will fail. The app must be removed, then added and configured again by another current admin user for the notifications to work properly again.
Installation and configuration
This is an account-level integration and requires the Zoom account administrator to install and configure authorizations for all account users.
- Installs the app.
- Create a Zoom Chat channel to receive emergency call notifications and send alerts.

Create a role with edit permissions for Zoom Room and Zoom Phone, and assign the role to channel members.
This grants authorization to channel members to use and configure the integration.
Adds members to the channel. - Once added, channel members can:
- Configure emergency call notifications for the channel.
- Use the channel to receive emergency call notifications and send alerts.
Install from Zoom Marketplace
- Sign in to the App Marketplace as the account administrator.
- Search for and select the Emergency Call Notification
- On the app page, click Add.
- Review the requested permissions, and click Authorize.
Once installed, the Emergency Call Notification app is available for all users in the Zoom account and appears under Apps in the Zoom client.

Setting up Emergency Call Notifications and the channel
The app provides you flexibility in configuring emergency call notifications to meet your company’s safety policy and procedure needs. You can configure how many sites and emergency numbers the channel monitors for emergency call notifications.
For Example, In the United States, 911 is the emergency call number. Customers that use Zoom as the carrier for emergency calls can also use 933 as an emergency services test number. In such a scenario, we recommend you configure both of these emergency call numbers.
You can also have the same configuration (site and emergency number combination) to send notifications to multiple channels.
Repeat the setup procedure as needed per channel.
- Log in to the Zoom client and select the channel you want to receive the emergency call notifications.
- Enter /emergencycall setup to open the configuration window.
- Select the site and emergency number.
- Save the changes.
Edit and delete configurations
- Log in to the Zoom client and select the channel you want to update.
- Enter /emergencycall configure to display the configurations for the channel. To display all configurations, enter /emergencyall configure all.
- Select Edit and Delete as needed.
Disconnect a configuration for a Channel
- Log in to the Zoom client and go to the channel you want to update.
- Enter /emergencycall disconnect to disconnect the channel from its current configuration. To disconnect from all configurations, type disconnect all.
Chat Commands (for Admins)
Chat commands are available to maintain configurations in the channel. To display a list of available chat commands for the app, enter help in the app chat field. When running these commands in the channel, use /emergencycall [command].

setup: Set up Emergency Call Notifications for this channel. Select sites and emergency numbers to monitor.

disconnect: Disconnect emergency call notifications for the current channel.

disconnect all: Disconnect emergency call notifications for all channels.

help: Display a list of all available commands.
Using Emergency Call Notifications
Members of your internal safety teams use Emergency Call Notifications to receive notifications of emergencies and send alerts to Zoom Rooms and Zoom Digital Signage.
Receive Notifications
When someone makes an emergency call using Zoom Phone, the app sends pertinent information to your safety team channel, such as:
- Caller name
- Zoom Phone number
- Date and Time
- Address
Note: In order to receive Emergency Call notifications you must have configured Zoom Room/Digital Signature with valid location data. See Enabling or Disabling Digital Signage.
Send Alert messages
You can compose an alert message, and send it to a specific site and floor, by:
- Under Incident, click the pencil icon to compose an alert message.
- Select the destination for the alert and then send.
Cancel Alert messages
To cancel or stop the alert message, click Stop Alert.
How to uninstall the Emergency Call Notifications app
- Sign in to the App Marketplace as the account administrator.
- In the top right corner, click Manage.
- On the left navigation panel, click Added Apps.
- In the list below, find the Emergency Call Notification app.
- Click Remove.
Data security
- The Emergency Call Notifications app requires Zoom account access.
- The Emergency Call Notifications app can view:
- Caller information: user id, first name, last name, email, user type, PMI, department, last login time, phone number
- Location information: address,GPS coordinates, IP Address, time zone
- Zoom Room information: list all Zoom Rooms, send alert message to Zoom Rooms
- Communication between Zoom and the chat app is encrypted.
- Protocol: TLS 1.2
- Cipher suite: ECDHE-ECDSA-AES128-GCM-SHA256
- Key length: 128 bits
- Perfect Forward secrecy: YES
