Zoom Team Chat streamlines communications between team members, easily allowing the sharing of messages (including audio messages), gifs, files, and videos that can be played directly in the chat window. This eliminates the need (in many cases) of opening the video in another application outside of the Zoom client, further streamlining your workflow within Zoom.
Prerequisites for sending video files in a chat message
- Chat enabled by admins
- Zoom desktop client
- Windows: 5.7.3 or higher
- macOS: 5.7.3 or higher
- Zoom mobile app
- Android: 5.7.3 or higher
- iOS: 5.7.3 or higher
- Supported file types and size:
- MP4, M4V, and MOV
- 30 MB max file size
Notes:
- Videos sent from the mobile app will transcode the video file into an MP4 (H.264 codec with ACC stereo audio) with 720p maximum resolution.
- Account owners and admins can set up file transfer controls to specify the file types and file size limits that their users can send and receive.
How to send a video in Zoom Team Chat
Windows | 
macOS- Sign in to the Zoom desktop client.
- Click the Team Chat tab
. - Select the contact, group chat, or channel you want to send the video to.
- Below the chat compose box click File
, or click and drag the file to the chat compose box. - Select the file source.
Notes:- Sharing a video from a third-party service will send the video as a link to the video file, and will not be able to play in the desktop client.
- If the file exceeds the 30 MB size limit, it will be sent as a normal file transfer, which must be downloaded and opened with another video application.
- Browse the file system and select the file you want to send.
When the file is uploading, click Cancel or X to cancel the upload. - (Optional) Enter any text to accompany the file.
- Press Enter to send.
Once the video is uploaded, it is available to those you sent the video. Click the play button 
to begin downloading the video, and, when complete, the video will begin playing. Standard video controls are available, such as:
- Play / Pause
: Start or pause the playback of the video. - Elapsed time/total video length: Shows the current elapsed time of video playback, and the total length of the video file.
- Playback slider
: Allows you to skip to other points of the video playback range. - Volume
: Allows you to adjust the volume of the video being shared. - Expand
: Makes the video fill more of the desktop client. - Fullscreen
: Allows you to make the video full-screen.
Android | - Sign in to the Zoom mobile app.
- Tap the Team Chat tab .
- Select the contact, group chat, or channel you want to send the video to.
- Tap the plus sign
. - Tap Send a File or Photo Album
. - Browse and tap the file you want to send. File upload will begin immediately.
- The video will appear in the chat window. Tap the video preview to download and begin playback.
Once the video is uploaded, it is available to those you sent the video. Tap the play button 
to begin downloading the video, and, when complete, the video will begin playing. Standard video controls are available, such as:
- Play / Pause : Start or pause the playback of the video.
- Elapsed time/total video length: Shows the current elapsed time of video playback, and the total length of the video file.
- Playback slider : Allows you to skip to other points of the video playback range.
Tap the ellipsis button 
to view other options, such as Open with Other App, which allows the video to be opened in another available app on the device.
