Inviting by phone and calling from Zoom Rooms

You can invite a telephone user by calling them during a Zoom meeting in a Zoom Room. You can also call a phone number for a 1-on-1 phone call, or call into a conference bridge for a non-Zoom meeting.

How to invite by phone while in a Zoom Rooms meeting

Note: Inviting by phone requires the Audio Plan add-on. If the Zoom Room has a Zoom Phone license, inviting by phone does not use Zoom Phone and requires the Audio Plan add-on.

1. Start or join a meeting from a Zoom Room.
2. Tap Manage Participants, then tap Invite on your Zoom Room controller.
3. Tap the Phone tab.
4. Tap the number icon at the top left to select a country code if you are dialing an international number.
5. Dial a number then tap the phone icon. 
6. You can also tap the downwards arrow at the top right to view previously-dialed numbers. Tap the displayed number to dial it.

How to call a phone number from Zoom Rooms

SIP phone integration or Audio Plan add-on

Follow these steps if you integrated a SIP phone with Zoom Rooms or have the Audio Plan add-on:

1. Tap Phone in the left-side panel on the Zoom Rooms controller.
2. Tap the flag icon to select a country code if you are dialing an international number.
3. Dial a number then tap the phone icon.
4. You can also tap the icon at the top right to view previously-dialed numbers. Tap the displayed number to dial it.
5. If you prefer to dial someone from your contacts list, tap the icon, then tap the contact displayed on the list.  

Zoom Phone 

Follow these steps if you added a Zoom Room to Zoom Phone:

1. Tap Phone in the left-side panel on the Zoom Rooms controller.
2. Use one of these methods to make a call:
   Note: The room's Zoom Phone extension number and direct phone number (if one was assigned to the room) appear in the lower-right corner. If you want to change the outbound caller ID, change the Outbound Caller ID option in the room's phone settings.
   
   • Using the dial pad, enter a number then tap the phone icon.
   • Tap the downward arrow at the top right to view previously-dialed numbers. Tap the displayed number to dial it.
   • Tap the contacts icon to view other phone users in the same organization. Tap the phone icon to call the contact.
3. During the call, you can use most Zoom Phone in-call controls. You can also tap and drag the volume slider to adjust the room's speaker volume.
   Note: You can't start a call recording using the Zoom Room controller.
