Connect a Zoom Room with the Zoom Workplace desktop app

When enabled by an admin, this feature lets you start, share, connect to, and control meetings in Zoom Rooms directly from your Zoom Workplace app.

You can also connect the Zoom mobile app with a nearby Zoom Room.

Notes:

• Zoom Rooms support connecting any number of user platforms. Zoom Rooms controllers, scheduling displays, web-based controllers, Zoom app desktop controllers, iOS/Android mobile device controllers, and connected Zoom desktop and mobile apps do not count against this limit, as they have their own separate limits. 
• Connecting a Zoom Room with a free user account, and then hosting a meeting, will cause that meeting to use the 40-minute time limit tied to free accounts.

Requirements for connecting to a Zoom Room with the desktop app

• Account owner or admin privileges to edit account settings
• Zoom Workplace desktop app:
  • Windows: 6.7.0 or higher
  • macOS: 6.7.0 or higher
• Zoom Rooms:
  • Windows: Global minimum version or higher
  • macOS: Global minimum version or higher
  • Appliances: Global minimum version or higher
  • iPad: Global minimum version or higher

How to enable or disable connecting to a Zoom Room for the entire account

This setting allows account owners or admins to enable or disable Show “Zoom Room” feature in the Zoom Workplace app for all users in the account.

1. Sign in to the Zoom web portal as an admin with the privilege to edit account settings.
2. In the top-right corner, click your profile picture or initials, then click Admin Center.
3. In the side menu, click Settings .
4. Click General.
5. Under Other, click the Show “Zoom Room” feature in the Zoom Workplace app toggle to enable or disable it.
6. If a verification dialog appears, click Enable or Disable to verify the change.

How to enable or disable connecting to a Zoom Room on the Zoom Workplace desktop app

1. Sign in to the Zoom Workplace desktop app.
2. Click your profile picture, then click Settings.
3. Click the Rooms tab. 
4. Under Room icon, click the Show “Zoom Room” icon in the app toggle to enable or disable it.
   Note: If the option is grayed out, it has been disabled by the account admin.

How to connect with a Zoom Room

1. Sign in to the Zoom Workplace desktop app.
2. In the top-right corner, click  Room.
3. Choose from the following options:
   Note: You may need to click More options to view them all. The options displayed may vary according to your settings. 
   • New meeting from room: Start an instant meeting from the room.
   • Share screen to room: Share your screen to the room.
   • Connect to room: Connect your device to the Zoom Room for chat and content viewing. 
   • Start My Notes from room: Start taking My Notes from the room.
   • Reserve a room: Book a room.
   • Save room meeting assets: Claim and save meeting assets from the room.
   • Open whiteboard: Open a new whiteboard in the room.
