Getting started with Smart Gallery

Remote meeting attendees may find it difficult to see people clearly when other meeting participants are in a Zoom Room. To address this issue, Zoom Rooms Smart Gallery displays multiple video feeds from a single conference room. This allows the Zoom Room cameras to focus more closely on groups of participants and display these people more clearly to remote attendees. Effective collaboration between remote attendees and Zoom Room participants can be enhanced by the face-to-face meeting experience.

  1. Sign in to the Zoom web portal.

How to use Smart Gallery with standalone cameras

One Smart Gallery camera can be used with one or two additional standalone cameras. The additional stand-alone camera(s) can be used with any camera mode supported by the hardware: Manual (including default preset), Speaker Focus, Auto framing, or Multi-focus.

  1. Enable multi-camera mode.
  2. Configure your camera controls from your room controller or touch display.

How remote attendees experience Smart Gallery

Remote meeting attendees will be able to view all the available video streams from the Zoom Room if they are using the Gallery, Side-by-Side, or Thumbnail views. Each Zoom Room video stream is displayed as a distinct meeting participant with full resolution. These same meeting participants are named using a pattern that includes the Zoom Room name followed by a number, for example: "Conference Room 1", "Conference Room 2", etc.

Note: Remote attendees with Poly X30, Poly X50 and Yealink A20 devices will be able to identify the active speaker in a room with Smart Gallery enabled.

Remote attendees with other devices will see the main camera feed from the Zoom Room as the active speaker, even if participants from the other Zoom Room camera feeds are speaking.
