Subscribe and receive campaign updates from MailChimp. MailChimp is an email marketing platform that allows you to automate your marketing campaigns. The MailChimp Notifications app for Zoom allows you to receive notifications pertaining to campaign performance results in your Zoom Chat channels.

Prerequisites for the MailChimp Notifications app
- A MailChimp account
- Pre-approval of the Mailchimp Notifications chat app in the Zoom App Marketplace
Note: If the app is not pre-approved, please contact your Zoom admin.
How to install and configure MailChimp Notifications
Install from the Zoom App Marketplace
- Sign in to the Zoom App Marketplace with your Zoom account.
- Search for Mailchimp and click the app.
- In the top right of your screen, enter MailChimp in the search box to find the app.
- In your search results, find the MailChimp Notifications app and click it.
Note: If the app is not pre-approved, contact your Zoom admin to approve this app for your account. - Click Visit Site to Install.
- Confirm the app permissions, then click Authorize.
Link your MailChimp account
After installing the MailChimp Notifications app, you will need to link your MailChimp account.
- Type the link command into your individual chat channel.
You will receive a URL to link your MailChimp account. - Click the URL.
- Copy and paste your MailChimp API Key into the page.
- Click Submit.
How to use the MailChimp chatbot
Use the chat commands
The MailChimp chatbot supports the following commands:

Help: Type /mailchimp help to receive a list of all the commands for the Mailchimp chatbot.

Link your MailChimp account: Type /mailchimp link to open a page where you can link your MailChimp account.

Connect MailChimp notifications to your channel: Type /mailchimp connect [campaignId] to add MailChimp campaign performance updates to the channel that you are in. You will receive notifications about that campaign’s performance once a day.
Note: Use /mailchimp campaigns to see your campaignIds. -
Disconnect MailChimp notifications from your channel: Type /mailchimp disconnect to remove and turn off MailChimp notifications for this channel. Please note that this will only remove YOUR notifications; notifications subscribed by other people will continue to show up.

See your current subscription: Type /mailchimp connections to see what campaign you are currently subscribed to.

Start a Zoom meeting: Type /mailchimp meet to start a Zoom meeting.

See list of campaigns: Type /mailchimp campaigns to see a list of your campaigns.

See the performance of a campaign: Type /mailchimp performance [campaignId] to see the performance of that campaign.
Note: Use /mailchimp campaigns to see your campaignIds.
How to uninstall the MailChimp Notifications chat app
- Sign in to the Zoom App Marketplace as the account administrator.
- In the top right of the page, click Manage.
- In the navigation menu, click Added Apps.
- Next to the Mailchimp Notifications app, click Remove.
- Confirm the dialogue and click Remove.
Data security
When you install an application, you allow the 3rd party service to receive certain information from your Zoom account. Below is some clarification on data security information:
- Zoom data accessed by the chatbot:
- This chatbot can view all user information (id, first name, last name, email, user type, PMI, time zone, department, last login time, phone number, and meeting settings), account information (account id, owner, owner email, and number of licenses), view and manage all user meetings (list all past and current meetings and meeting settings, webinar registrants, past meeting participants, and webinar polls).
- MailChimp data access by the chatbot:
- MailChimp Data accessed by the app:
- MailChimp data stored in a database: Campaign ID, API key
- MailChimp data presented to the user: For each campaign: campaign name, campaign ID, Emails Sent, Abuse Reports, Unsubscribed, Unique Opens, Total Opens, Open Rate, Click Rate, Sub Rate, Unsub Rate.
- This chatbot has access to admin-level read/write data for MailChimp.
- What permissions will this chatbot be granted?
- This chatbot will be allowed to send a chat message to an IM channel or user on behalf of the chat app.
- This chatbot will have access to admin-level MailChimp operations.
- Are communications between Zoom and this chatbot encrypted? If yes, what algorithm and key strengths are used?
