Using Apple's Center Stage feature with Zoom
Utilizing Apple's new Center Stage feature in Zoom, someone with their video on is kept in frame as they move around in the space in front of their iPad. This creates a more dynamic and engaging video experience, and it eliminates the need to move your iPad to keep you in the center of the video.
Requirements for using Apple's Center Stage feature with Zoom
- Zoom mobile app for iOS: version 5.6.6 (423) or higher
- iPad
- iPad Pro 11-inch (3rd generation) or later, or iPad Pro 12.9-inch (5th generation) or later, using its front-facing camera
- iPad Air (5th generation) or later using its front-facing camera
- iPad (9th generation) or later using its front-facing camera
- iPad mini (6th generation) or later using its front-facing camera
- Mac
- Mac using Continuity Camera with iPhone 11 or later (excluding iPhone SE models)
- MacBook Pro introduced in 2024 or later using its built-in camera
- MacBook Air introduced in 2025 or later using its built-in camera
- iMac introduced in 2024 or later using its built-in camera
- Mac using the built-in camera of an Apple Studio Display
- macOS Monterey or later
How to enable Center Stage in a Zoom meeting or webinar
Note: These steps are for iPad and iOS devices.
This option can be enabled or disabled as needed within a Zoom meeting or webinar.
- Start or join a Zoom meeting or webinar.
- Tap the screen to bring up meeting controls.
- In the top-right corner, tap the Grid
icon, then tap Center Stage to enable video tracking.
How to enable or disable Center Stage in macOS
- For macOS Sonoma 14 or later: Click the green camera
icon in the menu bar at the top of the screen. Click Center Stage to turn it on/off. - For macOS Ventura 13 or macOS Monterey 12: Click Control Center in the menu bar then click Video Effects. Click Center Stage to turn it on/off.
