New and enhanced features
- User features
- Whiteboard Content Generation with AI Companion
Users can leverage Zoom AI Companion with Whiteboard to unlock visual ideation for an improved Whiteboard experience. Users can generate ideas, refine and extend existing content, and add objects to a canvas with just a click.
- Independent controls for image and document uploads and file download restrictions
Users can manage image and document upload settings independently for Whiteboard. Previously, users were unable to control image and document uploads independently, as there was only one setting for both features. In addition, a new setting has been implemented, enabling more control over file downloads. This enhancement enables users to determine whether files uploaded to a whiteboard can be downloaded by external users, providing further privacy. - Upload additional supported files to whiteboard
In addition to images and PDFs, users can upload Word document and PowerPoint slides to a whiteboard. When uploading files, users can select multiple files to upload, and the system will add them all to the canvas side by side in the center of the screen near the toolbar. - Improvements to labels on connectors
Users can enhance diagrams, flowcharts, and shapes by including multiple text labels on connectors, providing a more comprehensive context. Additionally, users have the flexibility to move labels both vertically and horizontally along connectors, simplifying the label arrangement process and preventing text overlap issues. - Improvements to activity log
Admins reviewing audit logs can access additional details including exact text that was added or updated, enhancing admins ability to monitor user activity. This detailed data is also accessible in View Activity Log panels, View Version History, and Board History where applicable.
- Hide and unhide frames
Users can hide and unhide frames on the canvas. Previously, users had no way to exclude specific frames and their content without deleting the entire frame. This feature enhances user control over whiteboard frames, offering a more flexible and straightforward experience.
- Ability to disable export options
While export settings have been expanded to incorporate CSV format, users can choose to disable export options. This provides additional settings to manage data sharing and prevent unwanted leakage and also grants users more control over content exposure.
- Enhanced viewing experience for Whiteboard in meetings
When a whiteboard is initiated during a meeting, participants will automatically have their view adjusted to fit the size of the presenter's monitor or screen. This enables all viewers, regardless of their screen dimensions, to see the entirety of the content being shared. - Ability to open same whiteboard in multiple meeting
Users can open the same whiteboard across multiple meetings or breakout rooms simultaneously. The dashboard will provide a clear indication of the whiteboard's status, letting users know if it's already in use in another meeting. Additionally, any collaborative and facilitation actions initiated in one meeting will remain distinct and private to that meeting; participants in other meetings using the same whiteboard won't see the actions of those in a separate meeting. This enables each meeting to maintain a focused and uninterrupted experience, enhancing the versatility and effectiveness of whiteboard usage across multiple sessions.
Resolved issues
Note: The Initial public APIs and webhooks
and Zoom Whiteboard APIs for archiving features have been pulled from release due to issues with deployment and will be available in another upcoming release.
