• Meeting features
  • Support for additional characters in Personal Link 
    Admins can use additional characters, including hyphens (-) and underscores (_) , in users' Personal Link, which is a vanity version of their Personal Meeting ID (PMI). This allows successful mapping of SCIM or SAML fields containing these characters to users' personal links, and resolves provisioning failures experienced by some users with display names containing hyphens or underscores.

Changes to existing features

• Zoom app now named Zoom Workplace app 
  The Zoom app for desktop and mobile is now named Zoom Workplace, in order to align the app name with Zoom’s extensive product offerings that are designed to help users reimagine the way they collaborate. Users updating to this version will see the new Zoom Workplace branding in the app and as the app name in their app directory. This change also affects installer file names, so admins with mass deployments should adjust any scripts to account for the new file names (Zoom Workplace (32-bit), Zoom Workplace (64-bit), and Zoom Workplace (ARM64)).
• Late joining participants no longer blocked from unmuting or starting video 
  Participants joining a meeting that has already started recording, live streaming, or using an AI Companion feature will no longer be blocked from unmuting or turning on their video. They will still see the applicable consent prompts and have their audio (recording, live streaming, AI Companion) and video (recording and live streaming) muted, but will not be blocked from using these controls while the prompt is still visible. Previously, these consent prompts prevented users from unmuting or starting their video until the prompt was acknowledged and consent provided.
• Consolidated Meeting and Calendar tabs 
  The Meetings and Calendar tabs are merging to provide the greater visibility of the calendar view with the meeting details needed for your daily tasks. Easily view and filter upcoming meetings, view the invitees and their responses, and review shared materials ahead of the session, while also reviewing previous meetings and their assets, such as recordings, continuous meeting chats, whiteboards, and more. This change will be rolled out to accounts over time and be controlled through a web setting available at the account, group, and user levels. Initially, Basic, Pro, and some smaller Business accounts will have this available with the March release, with this enabled by default for those Basic and Pro accounts. Other accounts can expect this in an upcoming release, which can be managed for eligible accounts through the Feature Release Controls.

• General features
  • Zoom desktop app color themes and visual overhaul 
    The appearance of the Zoom desktop app is overhauled with a new color scheme and icons. These color schemes, including bloom (blue), agave (green), and rose (red), are available when running the client in the light mode and can be chosen through app settings. These color themes are applied to the app global navigation bar, and the in-meeting window.
  • Additional MSI/GPO/MDM options
    • Keep only one section open in Team Chat - KeepOnlyOneSectionOpenInChat 
      Disabled by default, this corresponds to the Only allow one section opened at a time setting for the desktop app, found under the Team Chat section of app settings.
    • Organize chats by section - SeparateIMChatAndChannel 
      Disabled by default, this corresponds to the Organize by section setting for the desktop app, found under the Team Chat section of app settings.
    • Disable Team Chat file transfers - DisableIMFileTransfer 
      Disabled by default, admins can enable this policy to prevent file transfers through Team Chat for any account signed-in.
    • Allow file transfers for specific domains - AllowedIMFileTransferDomain 
      Disabled by default, admins can enable this policy by specifying specific domains that their users are allowed to share files with other users associated with that domain.
• Meeting/webinar features
  • Updated icons and meeting visuals
    The in-meeting experience is updated with new icons and other visual changes to menus and toolbars.
  • Improved collaboration with Google Drive and Microsoft OneDrive files 
    Sharing files from Google Drive and Microsoft OneDrive is updated to make it easier to select files and share them for in-meeting viewing or collaboration. First, the third-party service’s native file picker will be used to select a file, instead of the Zoom file picker. After selecting a file from Google Drive or Microsoft OneDrive, choosing Collaborate (which will grant participants file editing permissions), invites all participants to join in collaborating on the document using their system browsers,
  • Improved voiceprint for personalized audio isolation 
    The Personalized audio isolation audio profile is enhanced to allow for users to make a short voice recording of them reading a predefined script. This helps to enhance audio isolation performance whether headset or non-headset microphones are used, even in open environments. Zoom will store and use your voiceprint for this purpose, until you delete it, which you can do at any time in your audio settings.
  • Improved Companion mode 
    Connecting a device in Companion mode allows for easier video, chat, and sharing across multiple devices in any meeting. Connect in Companion mode from the Zoom app to view and respond to in-meeting chat or begin sharing the camera or an image on the device, all without joining the meeting as additional duplicate versions of yourself in the meeting. Start the meeting from another client, then connect on the desktop app and continue sharing a slide deck, managing participants, conducting a poll, and more. Additionally, when connected to a local Zoom Room in Companion mode, the Zoom Rooms Controller app, if enabled by admins, will no longer automatically open, but will still be readily available as an option in the control toolbar. Clicking will open the Zoom Rooms Controller app as a side-panel in the meeting window. This change in behavior to the Zoom Rooms controller app will currently only be available for the Zoom desktop app for Windows, with macOS to follow soon. This feature will be rolling out to accounts over the next few months.
  • Portrait lighting for video 
    The new portrait lighting setting allows Zoom to dim your background while brightening you in the foreground, making you stand out even more in your meetings. This is available through in-app video settings and has hardware prerequisites similar to using virtual backgrounds without a greenscreen.
  • SIP/H.323 interoperability UI enhancements 
    When a Zoom user client calls a SIP or H.323 Room System or destination, the caller ID will indicate the user name, instead of “Zoom” followed by the meeting ID. Also, some indicators embedded in the video stream sent to the SIP/H.323 destination, such as quality bars, participant counts, and participant name labels, are hidden to avoid duplicative or unnecessary information display.
  • Exclude hosts and panelists from survey participation 
    A new web setting can prevent individuals with hosting roles from participating in surveys, streamlining the administration process and ensuring more accurate and unbiased feedback from participants. This includes the host, co-host, and webinar panelists.
  • Consolidated notifications for enabled/disabled features 
    Unnecessary and redundant in-meeting notifications are removed or set to not appear multiple times, clearing up visual clutter that may interfere with the live meeting. The initiator of a feature will not see a confirmation notification, as they are aware of the feature they are selecting, and when certain features are disabled, the corresponding notification is suppressed as well.
  • Automated captioning and translated caption support for Hebrew 
    Automated and translated captioning support is expanding to include captioning for the Hebrew language. This language is enabled by default, but admins can control the availability of this language through the Automated captions and Translated captions settings within the web portal.
  • Greek, Bengali, Norwegian, and Welsh support for translated captions 
    Accounts using the translated captions feature will be able to have automated captions translated from any currently supported language to Greek, Bengali, Norwegian, and Welsh, facilitating easier communication between participants in Zoom Meetings. Translated captioning is not yet supported when translating from these languages, as they are not yet supported for automated captioning. These languages are enabled by default, but admins can control availability of this through the Translated captions setting in the web portal.
• Meeting features
  • In-meeting AI Companion disable and delete
    Hosts, co-hosts, and participants (in the absence of a host) can choose to turn off all AI Companion features at once in a meeting. Additionally, they have the option to delete meeting assets generated thus far, such as recordings, summary, and transcript, to help ensure these assets are not unintentionally shared with anyone after the meeting. These options are available to the host and co-hosts by default, with participants able to request disablement as well. In the absence of either the host or co-host in a meeting, any participant will be able to disable and delete assets.
  • In-meeting AI Companion features combined enablement 
    The host and co-hosts in a meeting can more easily enable both AI Companion features in a meeting with just a click of a combined Turn on all option under the AI Companion option in the meeting toolbar. This enables both Meeting Summary and Meeting Questions features for the current meeting.
  • Simplified AI Companion consent notifications for hosts 
    When the meeting host initiates the meeting summary or meeting questions features, they will no longer see the consent prompt, and instead will see a simple toast notification along the top of the meeting window, which will disappear after a few seconds. Other meeting participants will see the consent notification as a prompt along the top of the meeting window, but must acknowledge the prompt before it will disappear.
  • Meeting wallpapers 
    Meeting hosts can customize the wallpaper in their meeting, adding more color and customization to their meeting view. The host or co-host can choose from preset images provided by Zoom or their account admins. With a selection made, they can also adjust how much to blend the participant videos with the wallpaper image. Admins can control use of this at the account level, as well as provide additional default images, which are available to the host and co-host during meetings. Images uploaded through the web portal by admins must be JPG/JPEG or 24-bit PNG with a maximum size of 15 MB. The recommended resolution is 1920x1080px.
  • Dynamic emoji reactions for video tiles 
    Meeting reactions appearing in a user’s video tile, either in gallery or speaker views, are more dynamic with emojis appearing and floating up and around the user. This provides a greater visual indication of other video participant’s reactions for the presenter or speaker. These reactions only appear for video-on participants and can be disabled through the in-meeting Reactions settings.
  • Support for expanded remote control settings regarding external participants 
    The Zoom app supports recent changes to web settings to control the use of the remote control feature when external participants are present, which includes preventing guests from controlling other guests’ screens and preventing internal users from controlling a guest's screen.
  • AV1 video codec 
    To provide higher quality video while conserving bandwidth usage, Zoom continues rolling out this video codec to Pro accounts. Use of codecs, including AV1, is adaptive, and Zoom dynamically chooses the most appropriate codec.
• Webinar features
  • Full emoji suite support for Webinar Reactions 
    Similar to Meeting Reactions, Webinar Reactions are able to utilize the full suite of available emojis, in addition to the 6 standard emojis. Availability of all emojis versus the standard set can be controlled at the account, group, and user level settings page.
  • Removed email field for webinars not collecting emails 
    For webinars not collecting attendees’ email addresses, meaning registration is not required and the Include email address in attendee report setting is disabled, attendees joining the session will no longer be prompted to enter an email address.
  • Customized waiting room for Webinars 
    Hosts and account admins can customize the waiting room experience for webinars, allowing customization of the image, text, and other waiting room assets that attendees see before joining each session and providing a more engaging and branded joining experience for attendees. These custom assets can be saved to webinar templates for reuse. Additionally, hosts can also view the number of attendees waiting to join while the webinar is in practice mode, allowing them to decide when it is the best time to end practice mode and allow attendees into the webinar. This feature will be rolling out to accounts over the next months.
• Team Chat features
  • Team Chat Sentence Completion with Zoom AI Companion 
    Team Chat users can use Zoom AI Companion to suggest words while they are in the middle of composing incomplete sentences. Phantom word suggestions will appear in light gray in the compose box, allowing users to accept suggestions by hitting the tab button.
  • Expanded language support Chat Compose and Thread Summary with AI Companion features 
    AI Companion features for Team Chat support a broader range of languages for both Chat Compose and Thread Summary features, expanding from 9 to 37 languages, including English. Supported languages will include English, French, German, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, Chinese Simplified, Russian, Japanese, Korean, Dutch, Ukrainian, Chinese Traditional, Czech, Estonian, Finnish, Hungarian, Polish, Turkish, Vietnamese, Hindi, Romanian, Bangla, Danish, Indonesian, Malay, Norwegian, Tagalog, Tamil, Telugu, Swedish, Arabic, Hebrew, Cantonese, Thai, and Greek.
  • Meeting assets included with Meeting Summary in Continuous Meeting Chat
    The Continuous Meeting Chat experience has been enhanced to provide a quick snapshot of all meeting assets such as recordings, Meeting Summary with AI Companion, files, links, attachments, or Whiteboard links. Depending on the content generated during the meeting and the host's preferences, users will now have a quick and easy way to reference all these items in one place. If the meeting was cloud recorded, the host will see an interactive card in the meeting group chat, visible only to them, prompting them to share the recording with others in the continuous meeting chat. If shared, the posted meeting asset interactive card is updated to include the link to the recording. Other channel members will see Pending host approval until the host decides to share the recording. The same applies to the Meeting Summary with AI Companion if the host has the corresponding setting to share it only with themselves.
  • Increase Team Chat public channel limit to 250,000 members 
    Team Chat public channels support up to 250,000 members, facilitating scalability for larger communities. Certain admin settings have been adjusted to compensate for the increased member count.
• Mail and Calendar features
  • Zoom Mail sentence completion 
    The Zoom Mail client will auto-complete users’ partially entered text by providing suggestions. Users can press the Tab button to accept the suggestion.
  • Enhancements to the signing in on the Zoom desktop client
    Users must only sign in to the Zoom Calendar/Zoom Mail service once. When users grant their calendar and mail permissions on the Zoom web portal, they do not need to sign in again on the provider sign-in page in the Zoom desktop client.
  • Add silence mode for notifications
    Users can completely turn off email notifications by using the silence mode. When users choose to mute notifications, they will not receive the email count, and the red dot notification will not appear in the Zoom Mail client.
  • Directly send emails from an added account without switching
    Users can add an email account to their account. This allows them to send emails from the added account without switching accounts.
  • Enhanced group attendee support 
    The event host can easily add a group of attendees using the attendee field in the Zoom Calendar.. Additionally, the host and attendee can see individual attendees in a group when editing or viewing the event details.
  • Unified Zoom Calendar and desktop app home scheduler 
    To ensure consistency in content and functionality, the design of the Zoom Calendar scheduler and home scheduler has been unified.

  • All screens mode 
    All screens mode allows the host to request all participants share their screen to present the host with a scrollable side-by-side view of the participants and their shared desktop(s). This feature is designed to provide a more streamlined and straightforward proctoring experience, focused on seeing both the participant video and their desktop share. When activating during a meeting, the host can also choose to allow participants to also view all shared desktops. Admins can control the use of this feature with account and group level settings, with hosts also being able to enable this for individual meetings as well.
• Webinar features
  • View Webinar Q&A submissions from before joining 
    Account admins can allow webinar attendees to view Q&A submissions from other attendees, even if those submissions were from before they joined the webinar. This feature must be enabled by Zoom, and when enabled, applies to all webinars on the account and requires all hosts and attendees to join with Zoom app version 5.17.0 or higher. Those with a lower app version can still join the webinar, but will neither be able to see the Q&A option on their control toolbar nor participate in Q&A. Without this enabled for your account, webinar attendees can only view Q&A submissions from after they joined the webinar.
• Team Chat features
  • Enhanced UI for Thread Summary with AI Companion 
    To enhance the discoverability of the Thread Summary with AI Companion, a dedicated icon will be prominently displayed in the message thread interface for easy access. The Thread Summary option will appear only if there are replies below the main message. Additionally, if reactions are present below the message, a display divider will be included to separate the Thread Summary button from the reactions.
  • Sort chats at folder-level 
    To enhance usability, the Team Chat folder will feature sorting view options at the folder level for the desktop client. The available sorting options will include My Custom Order as the default, Unread First, and Alphanumeric with numbers preceded by alphabets. Sorting views for the Starred folder will be introduced in a future release.
• Mail and Calendar features
  • Enhancements to Zoom Calendar notifications 
    Users are notified before their meetings and events without an attached meeting. They can set notification time intervals to receive more notifications for their events and meetings.
  • Enhancements to the Zoom Calendar event scheduler
    There are several enhancements to align and unify the Zoom Calendar event scheduler with the Zoom desktop client’s event scheduler.
  • Disable Zoom Mail sound effects 
    Users can disable Zoom Mail sound effects in their settings.
  • Updates to Zoom Mail settings 
    The Zoom Mail settings page has been enhanced for improved navigation and usability, including the addition of a search bar to more easily find a specific setting.
  • Add identification for accounts with multiple mailboxes 
    Users can view the user initials in the top-left corner of the Zoom Mail client to identify which mailbox they are signed in to. Previously, users had to click the Settings dropdown to view which mailbox they were managing.
  • Support for messages view in Zoom Mail 
    The Zoom Mail client supports viewing individual emails of the same conversation in an inbox so that users can view the date, time, and timeline of each message.
• Phone features
  • Obfuscate sensitive data during a call 
    If enabled by admins, the feature mutes a user’s DTMF tones when pressing a dial pad key on their screen or keyboard during a call, and asterisks are displayed instead of the actual numbers.
  • Volume and microphone not optimal notification 
    Users experiencing mute, microphone, or speaker issues during a call will now receive a pop-up message alert, enhancing the user experience and expediting the resolution of any audio-related problems during the call.

  • Improved global product navigation for Zoom desktop client
    Free account users will have greater control of the product tabs shown on the Zoom desktop client, having greater flexibility over display order and which product tabs are always visible or hidden within the More option. This will initially be available for free accounts, with users on paid accounts getting this functionality in another later release.
  • Additional MSI/PLIST/GPO/MDM options
    • Disable assigning manual captioning typist - DisableAssignTypist 
      Disabled by default, admins can enable this policy to disable the ability for users to assign a participant the role of manually entering captions. This does not affect the use of automated captions or captions provided by a third-party service.
• Meeting/webinar features
  • Screen share presenter layout 
    Meeting users wanting a more engaging sharing session can utilize this new presenter layout, which combines your video and shared screen to present everything in one frame. Presenters have a few different layout options, ranging from having the content appear over-the-shoulder of your video, the presenter appearing in front of the content, or the presenter and the content appearing side-by-side. These options are available in the sharing window where users can select what they want to share, the layout of their video and the shared content, and a common virtual background for both you and the content. Admins can also control the use of this through web settings available at the account, group, and user-level settings pages.
  • Automated captioning and translated caption support for Cantonese and Thai
    Automated and translated captioning support is expanding to include captioning for Cantonese and Thai languages. These are enabled by default, but admins can control the availability of this language through the Automated captions and Translated captions settings within the web portal.
  • English to Greek support for translated captions 
    Accounts using the translated captions feature will be able to have automated captions translated from English to Greek, facilitating easier communication between participants in Zoom Meetings. This language is enabled by default, but admins can control availability of this through settings in the web portal.
  • Attach Poll to meeting or webinar instance 
    If the Allow host to create meeting polls and quizzes setting is enabled by admins, users can attach polls to a meeting or webinar instance and save a copy of polls attached to a meeting or webinar to their Personal Library.
• Team Chat features
  
  • Restrict channel posting to replies only 
    In addition to restricting who can post in a channel, channel admins can choose to allow all other channel members to post, but only as a reply to a message. This provides announcement channels with only threaded replies, keeping discussions focused on the announcements provided by approved posters.
  • Drafts and sent messages panel
    The Drafts section in the left side panel for Team Chat will be renamed to Drafts and Sent and include a dedicated section for Sent Messages, helping users quickly find messages they sent.
  • Manual and auto-archive channels, group chats, and continuous meeting chats 
    Channel, group chat, and continuous meeting chat owners can manually archive their unused chat channels, group chats, and continuous meeting chats. When these are archived, they are closed to new activity, but the message history is retained and searchable, allowing members to continue to access messages, files, and other information if needed again in the future. These chats can also be unarchived if the discussion needs to be re-opened. Admins can also set auto-archive policies from the web portal.
  • Read receipts for messages 
    The latest sent message in a 1:1 chat or small group chat or channel (20 members max) can show read receipts of who has read the message so far. Visibility of read receipts can potentially be disabled through the Team Chat section of client settings, if allowed by admins.
• Mail and Calendar features
  • Support for document preview in the Zoom Mail client
    Users can preview documents that are attached to emails in the Zoom Mail client. PDF, image files, and all other file formats are supported for document preview.
  • Select the color of Zoom Calendar events 
    The Zoom Calendar client supports labeling an event with colors. Zoom and Google calendar service clients support this feature.
    Note: This feature is not supported by Microsoft/Outlook.
  • Display attendee profile card when adding an event attendee 
    When an event organizer adds an attendee to an event, the attendee’s profile card will be displayed so that the event organizer can view their contact details.
  • Add a warning label to Zoom Calendar event card when an attendee declined the invite 
    When all attendees have declined a meeting, the event organizer will see a warning label in Zoom Calendar. The warning label will not appear when only a few attendees have declined the meeting.
  • Decline and remove invited meetings 
    Users can decline and remove invited meetings so that they no longer appear in the meetings list on the Zoom client’s Meetings tab.
  • Adjust font size in Zoom Mail 
    Users can adjust the font size in the Zoom Mail client. When users zoom in and out of Zoom Mail, the font size will automatically adjust.
• Phone features
  
  • Voicemail transcription support for French
    Users have the option to switch their voicemail transcriptions to French and establish it as their default language. By default, voicemail transcriptions are in English.

  • Update to OpenSSL 3.1.4
    Due to the recently disclosed vulnerabilities with lower versions of OpenSSL, the Zoom client is updated to use OpenSSL 3.1.4. Depending on your network security configuration, you may also need to update your network infrastructure devices’ firmware.
• Meeting/webinar features
  • Simplified consent notifications
    Notifications for meeting recordings, live streams, saveable captions, and AI Companion features are simplified and condensed down into one smaller, less obtrusive notification displayed at the top of the meeting window. If there are multiple notices, they will be combined together. Participants can hover their cursor over or tap for more information about what data of theirs is being shared and with whom. Participants retain the ability to consent to remain in the meeting/webinar, or leave the meeting. If a custom recording consent notification has been created by the account admin, the condensed banner format will not be used.

  • Improved visibility of feedback and help options 
    The help menu, currently found in the desktop client profile menu, is more prominent and accessible on the desktop client. This menu can be found as an additional option on the top toolbar of the desktop client, regardless of which product tab you are currently on.

    • Auto-copy join link when starting a meeting - EnableAutoCopyConfInvitationURL
      Disabled by default, admins can enable this policy to enforce the use of the Copy invite link when starting a meeting option found within General app settings.

  • Pair and transfer Zoom Events session between personal device and Zoom Room 
    Desktop users can pair with a local Zoom Room and transfer an active Zoom Events session in either direction, allowing users to easily transfer an Events meeting or webinar to suit their needs. Previously, only normal Zoom Meetings and Webinar support transferring to/from a Zoom Room.
  • Multiple arrows for annotation
    Multiple users can now annotate with arrows simultaneously without displacing each other's work, encourages more users to participate in collaborative activities. Previously, only one arrow could be placed on the screen at a time.
• Meeting features
  • Request host to start cloud recording 
    Meeting participants can request the host begin a cloud recording of the current meeting. The meeting host will receive the request and be able to approve the request and begin the cloud recording, decline this request, or decline this and all future requests for this meeting. If unlocked by admins at the account or group level, the host can also decide to enable Smart Recording with AI Companion for the current meeting’s cloud recording, or for the current and all future meetings.
  • Improved controls for starting recordings with Zoom Revenue Accelerator
    The in-meeting controls for starting a cloud recording are updated to make a clearer distinction between starting a normal cloud recording and starting a cloud recording with Zoom Revenue Accelerator analytics. This requires the user have a Zoom Revenue Accelerator license.
  • Support for guest participants in on-prem meetings
    Customers with specific regulatory and security needs utilizing Zoom Node and Meetings Hybrid solution can allow external guest participants to join meetings held on premises directly through the host datacenter. This is available for accounts utilizing Zoom Meeting Hybrid with private meeting mode and must be enabled by account admins before users can invite external guests.

  • Receive unsaved changes reminder 
    When users make changes to an event and try to close the window without saving, a pop-up message will appear, asking if they want to discard unsaved changes.
  • Enhancements to the Find a Time feature 
    When hosts use the Find a Time feature and click a time slot on the calendar, the event window will automatically move to the newly selected time slot. Previously, the host had to click and drag the event window to the new time slot.

  • Private Call Park & Aim Call Park for Shared Line Group 
    Administrators have the flexibility to create a user group with permissions for these activities and specify the location where calls should be picked up. Those not included in the designated group are unable to retrieve these calls. Aim Call Park allows a user to transfer a parked call to an available user-selected aim call park number. Admin can configure phones that support the directed call park Busy Lamp Field (BLF) to monitor the busy/idle status of specific directed call park numbers in the admin portal. Users can also use the BLF to speed dial an aim call park number. The feature can be enabled at the account and site levels. This feature must be enabled by Zoom.

    • Disable ability to switch quickly between accounts - DisableMultipleAccountsSwitch
      Disabled by default, this policy allows admins to disable the ability to switch between multiple Zoom accounts on the Zoom app. If the policy is enabled, users must manually sign out and then sign in to another account, which has been the default behavior up until this release.
  • Join Zoom Event session from calendar on local Zoom Room
    Zoom users can view their upcoming calendar events and join Zoom Events sessions on a local Zoom Room, if available, from the calendar tab on the Zoom client. Previously, the Join from Room option was not available for Zoom Events sessions, and only available for non-Zoom Events meetings and webinars.

  • Smart Recording with AI Companion enhancement: Meeting Coach 
    Hosts can get even more information from their cloud recordings by having AI Companion analyze key meeting and conversation factors. Analytics are provided on your talk speed, talk-listen ratio, longest spiel (or monologue), filler word usage, and patience and are accessible when viewing the cloud recording. This is controlled at the Account, Group, and User level, as a sub-setting under the Smart Recording with AI Companion setting.
  • Gallery view enhancement for participants joined through Zoom Room companion mode 
    Meeting participants that join by Zoom Room after connecting through Companion mode will not be displayed as a separate tile in Gallery view, and instead will only be listed in the Participants panel, nested under the Zoom Room they are connected to.

  • AI Companion language support extended to 33 languages 
    Meeting participants can speak in one of 33 languages and have their portion understood and transcribed by AI Companion for use answering questions about the current meeting or as part of the meeting summary. English is used by default if participants have not yet chosen a speaking language for automated captions, and if a language mismatch is detected, they will be prompted to confirm their current speaking language. Ensuring the correct spoken language is chosen improves the quality of the generated transcript for AI Companion questions.
  • Auto-start AI Companion questions and meeting summary options when scheduling
    When scheduling a meeting in the Zoom app, hosts can enable auto-start for AI Companion questions and meeting summary. This gives hosts more granular control over which meetings should be scheduled with AI Companion features set to automatically start, while still allowing them the ability to manually start these features for others not scheduled to auto-start the AI Companion features.
• Team Chat features
  
  • Continuous Meeting Chat enhancements for external invitees - Windows, macOS, Linux, Android, iOS
    Continuous Meeting Chat (CMC) is enhanced to offer better support for external users invited to meetings with dedicated group chats. Previously, external users (those not on the same Zoom account) could not be automatically added to the dedicated group chat, requiring hosts to manually adjust the group chat settings to allow the addition of external users and manually include them. Admins can allow their users to add external users to the dedicated group chat created for a scheduled meeting, with the additional optional setting to automatically add external users to the group chat.
  • Chat with everyone” links embedded into meeting invites set up with Continuous Meeting Chat 
    Meeting invites for meetings scheduled with Continuous Meeting Chat (CMC) will include a “Chat with Everyone” link. This link lets invitees start chatting and collaborating before or after the meeting. These "Chat with Everyone" links will be available in meeting invites scheduled using Zoom web scheduler, Zoom Calendar client, Google Workplace add-on, Google & Firefox extensions, and Outlook add-in. External invitees can join the chat if admins and the host allow external participants in these group chats.
  • New quick create menu in Team Chat 
    To enhance the user-friendly experience in Team Chat, the following improvements are set to be implemented:
    • The Team Chat dropdown will be removed, and a new + option will be introduced. All actions previously found under the Team Chat dropdown will be relocated to the newly introduced + menu.
    • The current New Chat icon will be replaced with a + icon.
    • All "create new" actions, such as creating a New Chat, New Channel, Invite New Contact, and more, will be included in the new + dropdown.

  • Mark all emails as read
    Users can mark all emails as read on the Zoom Mail client.
  • Auto-advance feature for Zoom Mail 
    Users can use the Auto-advance feature for Zoom Mail. This feature shows the next conversation after deleting or archiving the current conversation.
  • Support for multiple signatures in Zoom Mail
    Users can create and manage multiple signatures in their Zoom Mail settings page. They can select, view, or update signatures. They can also set the default signature for new emails or reply/forward messages.

  • Emergency address validation 
    When entering an international address for an individual user in Italy or Spain, the system will automatically validate the address to ensure the accurate provision of emergency services. Note that if the address is not valid, a recommendation is provided to the end user. The following information is mandatory when submitting an address:

    • Postcode
    • Province

This new section is the first section of the emailed summary, allowing you to quickly review before reading other sections in more detail. This will also be available soon for meeting summaries accessed through the web portal and a meeting’s dedicated group chat.
• Smart Recording with AI Companion in-meeting enablement 
  Additional changes are being made to the Smart Recording feature to better align it under the AI Companion feature suite. The host can potentially enable the Smart Recording feature in a meeting, even if it is not enabled for all of their meetings (if the setting is off and unlocked). If the feature is locked the host can send a request to the admin to request to enable this feature. If the host is not an admin, an email request will be sent by Zoom to account admins for their consideration on whether to enable it.     Users can simultaneously sign in on multiple devices of the same type, such as using two smartphones or two laptops, providing them with less restricted flexibility, if allowed by account admins. Even when this feature is turned off, users can still log in from multiple devices, as long as those devices are of different types. By default, users can sign in from multiple devices, as long as those devices are of different types (web, desktop, and mobile).

  • Low or no speaker volume notification 
    Meeting participants and webinar attendees will see a notification if Zoom detects their speaker volume is low or muted, helping users having difficulties hearing others quickly figure out the cause.
  • Additional supported languages for automated captions and translated captions: Danish, Thai, and Welsh 
    Danish (Beta) is being added to the available languages for automated captioning and translated captions, available for translation between Danish and any other supported languages. Thai (Beta) and Welsh (Beta) are also being added to translated captions, but both are only available for translation between them and English.

  • Active AI notifier 
    In order to keep participants aware of AI Companion use during any meeting, there will be an AI icon present in the top-left corner of the meeting window and it will list any AI Companion features that are active.   • Webinar Resources enhancements 
    When Webinar Resources are not currently active, the Resources toolbar option is hidden from attendees’ view. Additionally, the icon for Webinar Resources is being updated in order to distinguish it from Zoom AI Companion.

    Zoom Webinars are able to support up to 100,000 attendees in a single webinar session. Previously, the maximum number of attendees was 50,000, with additional attendees able to be directed to a live-streamed version of the webinar. This feature must be enabled by Zoom.

• User requests for enabling Team Chat Compose and Thread Summary
  Paid users on eligible paid plans (may not be available for select verticals and regional customers) may be able to see the Zoom AI Companion chat compose and thread summary options within the Team Chat UI, even if the account admin has not enabled it. If these options are visible but not enabled, users can request admin enablement. Account admins can control the visibility of these enablement options through web settings. By default, these features will be visible to users in Team Chat.

    To better adapt to weaker networks, each parent device is limited to a maximum bandwidth, which, when exceeded by child devices, triggers the parent device to connect to no additional child devices. For ethernet connections, the maximum bandwidth is 60 MBPS, and 15 MBPS for wifi connections. This has no effect on the setting for maximum bandwidth per attendee.
  • Update to OpenSSL 3.1.1
    Due to the end of support by OpenSSL for version 1.1.1, the Zoom client is updated to use OpenSSL 3.1.1. Depending on your network security configuration, you may also need to update your network infrastructure devices’ firmware.
• Meeting/webinar features
  • Annotation toolbar redesign 
    When annotating on a shared desktop or specific window, the annotation toolbar is redesigned to improve usability and reduce the screen space used by that toolbar. The toolbar is slimmed down and will snap to the nearest edge of the screen, orienting either vertically or horizontally.
  • Q&A usability enhancement 
    Threaded comments to submitted questions in Q&A are capped at displaying 2 comments before they are hidden behind a View More option. This aims to make reading submitted questions and their responses easier by reducing how other questions and expanding threads affect each other in the Q&A window.
  • Window merge-in enhancements 
    Side panels, such as the in-meeting chat and participants panels, can be easily popped out from the main meeting/webinar window for ease of use, and with these updates, they are even easier to merge back into the meeting/webinar window. Additionally, the Q&A window for meetings and webinars can be merged into the main window. Previously it was only possible to close or minimize the Q&A window, not merge it into the main meeting/webinar window.
  • Captioning controls redesign
    The in-meeting/in-webinar captioning controls are redesigned to make captioning options easier and more intuitive to enable and adjust. Host controls are clearly separated from other controls available to all participants and some settings are renamed slightly to be more clear to users.
  • Enhanced manual captioning UI 
    The window where captions are manually entered more clearly indicates that captions appear for meeting participants or webinar attendees as the captioner types, rather than when hitting the Enter key.
• Webinar features
  • Support multiple URLs in Webinar Resources 
    Webinar resources can display multiple resource links at a time during a Webinar. When multiple links are enabled during the Webinar, attendees will be able to scroll through the links that the host enabled. This allows the presenter or host to provide a diverse range of supplementary materials, such as slides, handouts, reference documents, and relevant URLs.
• Team Chat features
  • Custom emojis 
    Users can create their own emojis, adding a personal flair to their conversations. All members in the user's organization can see and use these custom emojis in Team Chat conversations and reactions. Admins can view all uploaded emojis, including the uploader’s name and email address, upload date, and emoji name. Admins can also remove any emojis directly from the web portal. By default, custom emojis are enabled and all users can upload their own, but admins can also limit emoji creation through account settings by choosing whether all users in the organization can create emojis or only the admin(s) and specific users can create emojis.
  • Team Chat Thread Summary with Zoom AI Companion 
    Team Chat users can use Zoom AI Companion to help summarize a chat thread and quickly catch up on the discussion without having to read each response in the thread.

  • Transcription profanity filter support 
    The profanity filter feature prevents automated transcription from displaying inappropriate words. Admins can import widely available 3rd party lists, eliminating the need to manually curate offensive words, and enabling easy customization according to their organization's needs. This filter applies to all Zoom products utilizing transcription services, including Meetings, Webinars, Smart Summaries, and Recordings.

  • Auto-accept far end camera control 
    Users can set the Zoom app to auto-accept far end camera control requests from designated Zoom users, speeding up the process when far end camera control is frequently used by the same user again and again. The auto-accept permission can be assigned to any authenticated participant in the meeting or Zoom contacts outside of a meeting, and can also be removed at any point through client settings.
  • Personalized speech denoise 
    To provide the best audio quality possible for Zoom Meetings in busy environments, users can configure Personalized Denoise in the desktop client audio settings directly, which will capture and analyze a clip of your audio from meetings to differentiate your voice from and suppress background noise in meetings. Zoom does not receive or retain this clip or analysis, which stays on your device and is only used for noise suppression in meetings you join.

  • Use Zoom Calendar mouse shortcuts when creating an event 
    When creating an event in the main calendar view, users only have to click a time slot once to see the scheduler pop-up window. When users click a time slot twice, the full scheduler page will appear.
• Phone features
  • Tagging within an SMS thread for user
    If Call Queue members have Team SMS enabled, they can assign other members within a message to share information with each other. Tagging is only allowed for members who are part of the same call queue; they cannot tag someone who is not a member. Members will be able to differentiate between the original message and any tagged messages, along with knowing the original date the message was received.
  • VIP delegation for call handling
    Call delegation has been enhanced to provide delegators with the ability to designate specific contacts as VIP contacts. These VIP contacts are granted the privilege to bypass the delegate and directly call the delegator. Managing the VIP contacts list can be done on the client side. Delegators have the option to allow their delegates to handle their VIP contact list, granting them the authority to add or remove contacts on behalf of an executive. The regular call handling setup remains intact. However, the delegator has the flexibility to choose a ring sequence that allows the delegate to receive the call first. This feature is disabled by default and requires a Zoom Phone Power Pack license.

    Webinar hosts can create smaller breakout sessions during their webinar, similar to those available in Zoom Meetings. The host can specify how many rooms they want to create, then manually assign attendees to each room, or have attendees automatically assigned to rooms. These breakout rooms are independent in terms of audio and video from the main webinar session, but hosts can move freely in, out, and between open breakout rooms. Webinars can have up to 1000 attendees split across 100 rooms. This requires a Zoom Events or Zoom Sessions license. This feature will not be immediately available, as it is dependent on a backend server update currently scheduled for June 26, 2023.

    Users can silence any incoming calls as desired.
  • Add participants to barged phone calls 
    If a user belongs to a shared line group, they have the ability to include additional participants in calls that they have barged in (interrupted). In such calls, it is possible to add up to 10 participants.

    Users now have the option to conveniently opt in or out of a shared line group directly from their Zoom client. In the event that a shared line group is deactivated by their admin, users can easily identify the inactive status of the shared line group within their web portal settings.

  The Always show meeting control setting will be permanently available in the client, regardless of whether it is enabled or disabled in the web portal. The ability to receive the meeting summary can be restricted to the host alone, the host along with users on their same account, or extended to all attendees of the meeting, including invitees outside of their organization. All meeting participants will be notified that the summary is being generated, and the meeting host can stop the summary at any time, if necessary. This feature is available as a free trial for Zoom Pro, Zoom Business, Zoom One Business Plus, Zoom One Enterprise, Zoom One Enterprise Plus, and Enterprise Bundle accounts. This feature will not be immediately available, as it is dependent on a backend server update currently scheduled for June 5, 2023.

    The visibility of participants that have raised their hand is enhanced to make it easier for hosts to be aware of raised hands and take action to address that participant. A new notification will appear for those who raised their hand, with the option to immediately open the Participants panel and take action, such as requesting their unmute to ask their question. Users can enable an audio chime through client settings for when someone raises their hand. Lastly, after speaking with your hand raised, Zoom will start a countdown to lower your hand, unless manually canceled by the user.

The notes can include important details like the caller's name, phone number, date and time of the call, and entry point of the call. This feature requires version 5.14.10 or higher.

• Breakout Rooms 100 enabled for all accounts 
  The maximum capacity of Breakout Rooms has been increased for all accounts, supporting up to 100 breakout rooms, with a maximum capacity of 1000 in a single breakout room or up to 1000 total among all breakout rooms (depending on account limits). This also affects the pre-assignment limits, raising them also to 100 rooms and 1000 participants. Previously, this increased Breakout Rooms capacity required Zoom enablement.

      Set as 224.0.0.1 by default, this policy allows admins to specify a valid IP address to be a UDP multicast IP for Zoom apps to declare themselves and detect each other in their local sub-network (255.255.255.0). Admins can choose other IP addresses within the range of [224.0.0.1, 239.255.255.255].
    • Set network port for for Zoom Mesh nodes - MeshMulticastPort 
      This policy allows an admin to specify a valid port to be used as the UDP multicast port to communicate with other Zoom Mesh nodes on the network. The default port is 36699.
    • Set network port range for Zoom Mesh parent-child node communication - MeshListenPortRange 
      This policy allows an admin to choose a valid port range that will be used to set up listen sockets for connection requests between Mesh parents and children nodes. The nodes will also use this range to send signals and media data. The default port range is 18801-19800.
    • Allow external participants to connect via Zoom Mesh - EnableGuestMesh 
      Disabled by default, this allows external users (not on your account) to join a Webinar through the local Zoom Mesh-enabled network. Other requirements must be met, such as the device having the minimum supported client version for Mesh connections and the associated account setting in the web portal also enabled.

  • On-demand watermark 
    The host of a meeting or webinar can enable or disable the visual watermark as needed during the live session. This must be allowed by account Admins and can be controlled at the Account-, Group-, and User-level web settings. This feature must be enabled by Zoom.
  • Custom watermark location 
    Meeting hosts can choose where the watermark will appear, helping them avoid locations that distract or obscure the presenter or presentation. This feature must be enabled by Zoom.
  • Save my speaking language 
    When enabling translated captions, the user can choose to save the selection to be used for future meetings.
  • Follow the host option always available 
    Meeting hosts will always have the option to push their view of meeting participants to others in the meeting. Previously, this was only available when a custom gallery view organization was set.

  • Joining a meeting with Okta authentication for end-to-end encryption (E2EE) - Windows, macOS, Linux, Android, iOS 
    If enabled by their admins, users can join an end-to-end encrypted meeting with identity information provided by Okta. A badge assigned to the user indicates that the information provided by Okta matches those provided by Zoom; meeting participants must review that the displayed account domain and user information are trusted identifiers.

  • Collect external participants’ emails for webinars 
    Account owners and admins who want email addresses from guests joining meetings hosted by users in their account to show up on their reports and dashboards can request them from those guests. Upon joining the meeting, guests are prompted for their name and email, even if they are currently signed in and do not fall under at least one criteria listed here. This setting is available at the account, group, and user levels. This feature requires meeting participants to join from client version 5.12.6 or higher.
  • Webinar resources enhancement: Documents 
    In addition to providing links to webinar attendees, webinar hosts can also upload files for attendees to download and view during the live session. Hosts can upload files before and during the webinar, as well as make those files visible to attendees as needed. Supported file types include JPG/JPEG, 24-bit PNG, PDF, and PPT. Hosts can upload up to 50 files per webinar and each file can be up to 15 MB in size.

  • Open whiteboards in multiple meetings/breakout rooms 
    Users can open whiteboards simultaneously in multiple meetings/breakout rooms. To see which whiteboards can be shared, whiteboard statuses such as Locked, View Only, Unable to Share, and External Collaboration Disabled will be visible in the Zoom Whiteboard dashboard.
  • Version history for in-meeting whiteboards 
    Whiteboards opened or created during a meeting now include a Version History that summarizes the changes made by users. The Version History provides a list of current and previous versions, including revisions made by users such as edits, updates, deletions, and new pages. Ability to restore previous versions can be performed only by whiteboard owners.
  • Custom disclaimer for whiteboard 
    Admins can create a custom disclaimer to let users know what is allowed and not allowed on a whiteboard before they use it. The custom disclaimer can have a maximum of 100 characters for the title and 6000 characters for the body. Admins can customize the disclaimer for internal and external collaborators, control how often the disclaimer will appear, and set the language to any of the currently supported languages.

  • Consolidated notifications for channel member changes 
    When users join, leave, are added by, or removed by another user, the various chat notifications displayed in the chat channel are consolidated down when there are multiple of these notifications in a given day. This requires your account to have the new join flow, which is currently rolling out to customers.

    All meeting participants invited through the calendar event can view the participant attendance status. Previously, only the host and co-hosts could view each participants’ RSVP.

  • Access to Zoom Whiteboard dashboard in a meeting
    Users have the option to view and manage whiteboards they have access to from the Zoom Whiteboard dashboard during a meeting. As long as they have the right permission and the whiteboard is not being shared yet, presenters can share the whiteboard in presentation or collaboration mode, and grant participants access to the whiteboard after the meeting.

    • Disable Webinar Resources - DisableSidecar 
      Disabled by default, this option allows admins to disable the use and visibility of Webinar Resources, which provides webinar hosts with the ability to link to external resources, such as newsletter sign-ups, learn more pages, and others.
    • Disable the notification when a cloud recording is available - NotifyCMRAvailable 
      Enabled by default, this allows admins to disable the desktop client setting Show notifications when a new recording is available.
  • Support for Zoom Mesh 
    The Zoom client supports the use of Zoom Mesh within a local network, reducing internet bandwidth used by attendees when connecting with Zoom servers for Zoom Webinars and Events. This requires version 5.13.0 or higher.

  • Additional annotation discoverability 
    When viewing shared content, an additional toggle is available in the bottom-left corner of the shared content, making the annotations toolbar more easily accessible. This additional toggle for annotations is in addition to the existing entry point under View Options.
  • Speaker attributions for live automated captions 
    When viewing automated captions in a live meeting or webinar, captions will include the speaker’s profile picture as part of captions, to make it easier to understand who is currently speaking. If the user has no profile picture, their initials will be displayed instead. Their full name is provided when viewing the full transcript. Previously, there was no speaker attribution in the displayed captions. This also includes other minor caption enhancements to better support multiple speakers.
  • Meeting and webinar countdown timer - Windows, macOS, Linux
    Meeting participants and webinar panelists can choose to display how much time is left in a scheduled session. This timer is based on the scheduled duration and changes to a warming gold color after reaching 5 minutes remaining. Previously, participants could only choose to view the current duration of the meeting.
  • Temporarily disable automated captions 
    Hosts can disable automated captioning during a live meeting or webinar. This can be useful when the host forgets to disable captions from the web settings and wants to disable them for a meeting. Participants will be notified that captions are disabled by the host and the Show Captions button is no longer available in the control toolbar for everyone except the host.
  • Dimmed video if flashing images or patterns detected 
    Users can enable an option under Accessibility settings that allows the Zoom app to detect flashing images or patterns and automatically dim the video in a meeting or webinar.
  • Creation and editing of polls directly in meetings and webinars 
    Hosts and co-hosts can create and edit polls during a meeting or webinar. Previously, creating and editing a poll launched the web portal, for changes to be made there. For MacOS users, this feature requires macOS version 10.12 or higher.  
• Meeting features
  • Support for Q&A in meetings 
    Hosts can enable the Q&A feature in meetings to allow participants to ask questions, which can be viewed by all, but only answered by the host and co-host. Questions can be submitted anonymously, and responses can be sent publicly for all to see or privately to just the sender. Hosts can also mark submitted questions as something that will be answered live, so participants are aware and can expect their answer to follow soon. This is currently only available for standard Business, Zoom One Business, Zoom One Business Plus, Zoom One Enterprise, and Zoom One Enterprise Plus accounts, with standard Enterprise accounts currently scheduled to follow on January 7, 2023.
  • Animated meeting reactions
    Reactions shown in each video tile can be animated to draw greater attention. These animations are controlled through client settings, as well controlled by admins at the Account level settings. 
  • Enhanced broadcasting notification 
    When the host begins broadcasting their voice to all open breakout rooms, indicators that they are currently live are more prominent and clear. This includes the breakout rooms window where the host initiates the broadcast, as well as the broadcasting notification in the top-left corner of the video window.
  • Enhanced join flow 
    The process of joining a meeting is enhanced to combine the Please wait for the host to start this meeting window and the Waiting Room window together. This new join flow requires version 5.12.0 or higher and is only available for meetings hosted by Free accounts initially. This will be available for additional paid account types in mid-January 2023.
• Webinar features
  • Webinar Resources 
    Webinar hosts with a Zoom Events license can provide resource links for their attendees. This provides the ability to link to external resources, such as newsletter sign-ups, learn more pages, and others. Hosts can review the interaction results after the webinar concludes through Reporting. This feature will not be immediately available, as it is dependent on a backend server update, currently scheduled for December 21, 2022.
• Team Chat features
  • Schedule meeting with chat and channel members 
    Users can schedule meetings with members of a chat channel directly from Team Chat. When successfully scheduled, the meeting is added to your calendars, provides a notification with the option to copy the invitation, and also appears as a meeting card in the chat. This feature requires all chat members to have their calendars integrated with Zoom, and currently supports Google Calendar and Office 365 (OAuth 2.0). This setting is available at the account and group levels.
  • Delete messages in channels you own/admin 
    Channel owners and other designated admins can delete messages sent by other users in that channel. Previously, messages could only be deleted by the sender themselves.
  • Updated chat notification settings 
    Settings for controlling chat notifications are updated for clarity and ease of use. These updates affect the Team Chat tab of the client settings, the channel info panel, and the more menu for each channel in the chat sidebar.
  • Search for SMS messages 
    The Search bar supports searching SMS messages you have sent and received. Additional search filters are also available for SMS messages. Narrow your search down to specific phone numbers or conversations with the From and Search in filters, while the Type filter can narrow the search to SMS messages only. This feature will be enabled for current customers, but must be enabled by Zoom for any new customers. 
  • Enhanced GIF control 
    When viewing a sent GIF image in a chat or channel, there will be the option to pause/play the GIF.
  • Increased member limit for public channels to 50k
    The limit of members in a public Team Chat channel can be increased to 50,000 per channel. Currently, the limit is 15,000 per channel. This feature must be enabled by Zoom and your account must be provisioned in the US01 cluster.

  • Support for more than 1000 imported contacts
    When contacts are uploaded by admins, these contacts are found by using the search bar or phone dialer. Searching contacts supports as many contacts as were uploaded. Previously, only up to 1000 imported contacts were searchable.
  • Display end-of-call experience feedback survey
    Account owners and admins can display a thumbs up/down survey at the end of each call. If participants respond with thumbs down, they can provide additional information about what went wrong. This feature must be enabled by Zoom.

  • Dutch language support 
    The Zoom client now supports Dutch. By default, Zoom will match the operating system’s language if supported and users can manually select a language of their choice.
  • Support for RelayState with SSO authentication 
    Zoom SSO authentication protocols have been enhanced to provide the ability for deep linking within SSO responses, ensuring users are authenticated before joining a meeting or viewing a cloud recording, as well as automatically authenticating on the client when launching the application. This feature must be enabled by Zoom.

  • Screen share preview 
    When starting a share session, the sharer can hover their mouse near the floating toolbar and view a preview of the shared content other participants are seeing on their devices. This feature will not be immediately available, as it is dependent on a backend update currently scheduled for November 9, 2022.

  • Support for up to 1000 participants in E2EE Meetings
    End-to-end encrypted meetings can support up to 1000 total participants. Previously, the maximum was 200 participants. Large Meeting add-on requirements still apply.
  • Pair with Zoom Room and transfer a live meeting 
    Pairing with a Zoom Room can also be initiated within the Zoom meeting window, facilitating easier transferring of that meeting to the local Zoom Room. Previously, you had to pair with a Zoom Room outside of an active meeting, before being able to transfer. This requires Zoom Room version 5.12.6 or higher.
• Whiteboard features
  • Enhanced Whiteboard menu 
    The in-meeting menus have been updated, to more closely match the menus in the out-of-meeting whiteboard experience. This includes an improved right-click menu, additional editing options for shapes, and a pinch-to-zoom ability or zoom-in/zoom-out buttons on mobile.
  • Additional shapes 
    Additional shapes are available for Whiteboard including more basic shapes, flowchart symbols, UML symbols, and equations.
  • Follow along with presenter 
    When collaborating on a Whiteboard during a live meeting, participants can request to follow a specific editor or request all others to follow them. When following, your view of the canvas is tied to their view of the canvas.
  • Rich-text options for text objects 
    In-meeting created text objects, sticky notes, and shapes can be more finely formatted with additional rich-text options, including bold, italics, underline, font size, bulleted and numbered lists, and more.

  • Multiple admins for a chat channel 
    Channel owners can designate up to 50 admins to help manage a chat channel.
  • Get Started section for new Team Chat users 
    New users interacting with Team Chat for the first time are provided with a getting started guide to help them onboard with using Zoom Team Chat more efficiently.

  • Chat notifications for missed calls 
    With the power pack license, receptionists can quickly send a chat message to a recipient that missed a call. The receptionist can enable a setting to determine if the note happens during or after a call. If leaving a phone number in the note, it can be clicked to be dialed directly from the chat.

Changes to existing features

  The out-of-meeting, persistent chat experience is renamed to Zoom Team Chat. This change is only to the various UI elements and has no effect on associated features and functionalities.
• New Zoom icon for desktop and mobile apps
  As part of our ever-evolving products and brand, the icon for the desktop client and mobile apps is updated with a new logo.

  • Profile Card enhancements 
    Profile cards have been visually enhanced to better convey information about users and contacts. Work location (Office or Remote), location, and local time are spaced properly, even when fewer of those items are provided by the user. The location field supports hyperlinks. The email address field on the Contact tab of the Profile Card now displays a copy to clipboard button on hover. A reminder that profile cards can be viewed in meetings. You can also see them in Zoom Team Chat by hovering over a user’s profile photo or @ mention name.
  • Additional MSI/PLIST/GPO/MDM options
    • Preset use of hide self view in meetings - HideSelfView 
      Disabled by default, this option controls the use of the Hide Self View option. This option is currently available during meetings and webinars, but will include an additional out-of-meeting option in the client video settings.
• Meeting/webinar features
  
  • Decline meeting invitation with message 
    When the host of an active meeting invites a contact directly to join, the invitee can send a message when declining the invite, to provide context around the reason for declining. Some preset responses are provided by Zoom, but custom text can be used as well. The message will appear as a chat message in Zoom Team Chat for the person requesting you join.
  • Enhanced Self-view and Non-video participants controls 
    The Hide Self View option in client settings is persistent across meetings, reducing the need to be set each meeting. Additionally, the Hide Self View and Hide Non-Video Participants options are included in the in-meeting View controls, for easier access.
• Chat features
  • Restrict who can add channel members 
    When updating or editing a chat channel, the channel admin can choose to allow anyone in the channel to add new members, or they can restrict this ability to only channel owners and admins. If external users are allowed in the channel, they can also select which user types are allowed to add external members to the channel.
  • Additional keyboard shortcuts for Zoom Team Chat
    To assist users with screen readers, several keyboard shortcuts are added to quickly bring the screen focus to commonly used areas of chat, including switching to the chat list, jumping to the most recent message, jumping to start of unread messages, and adding members to chat or channel.
  • Request private channel access from channel and message links 
    When a link to a private channel or message in a private channel is shared with a user that is not currently a member of that private channel, they can request access to join. The channel admin receives the request in that channel, and if approved, the requestor is notified of the approval.
  • Enhanced link previews for chat message and channel links 
    When a Zoom Team Chat message or channel is deeplinked in chat, the preview will provide additional information. Deeplinks to public channels provide channel type, name, and description info. Deeplinks to messages in public channels provide original sender name, date/time, and a short snippet of the message. Deeplinks to private channels and messages within are only provided if the user is already a member of that private channel.
  • Add chatbots and chat apps to folders 
    Chatbots and Zoom Chat apps from the marketplace can be sorted into chat folders. Previously, only chat contacts, group chats, and chat channels could be assigned to a folder. This must be enabled by Zoom.

    Cloud recordings can be more easily accessed and shared from the desktop client. Additionally, a notification will appear when a recording is finished processing.

  • Support up to 25 custom languages for interpretation 
    Up to 25 custom languages for interpretation can be used during a meeting or webinar. Previously, only up to 5 custom languages were supported. This option is only available if Enable language interpretation by default is enabled. This enhancement must be enabled by Zoom and requires client version 5.11.2 or higher.

  • Broadcast mic audio to all breakout rooms 
    Meeting hosts can broadcast their microphone audio to all breakout rooms in a meeting. Previously, only device audio could be shared to breakout rooms from the main session.

  • Support for multi-language and translated captions in Webinars 
    Zoom Webinars hosts can enable translated captions to support webinars with multiple different language speakers, allowing attendees to view captions in the language that best suits them. Additionally, automated captions in Webinars support additional languages in addition to English, which has been the only supported language thus far. Previously, these captioning features were only available for meetings. The Translated Captions feature is currently only available for Zoom One Business Plus and Zoom One Enterprise Plus accounts. 
• Chat features
  • External users notice when composing messages in chats 
    Chats and channels that include external users will have enhanced labeling in the compose box to remind users that external contacts are present. The notification is clickable to provide more information regarding who can see messages in the chat or channel.
  • Profile card for meeting hosts
    When users view an upcoming meeting in either the Home page or the Meetings tab, the meeting host’s name provides the host’s profile card on hover. An option to chat directly with the host is also provided next to their name. If the host is not already a contact, the option to add them as a contact is provided.
• Phone features
  • Desk phone call control setting enhancement 
    When pairing or unpairing a desk phone to the Zoom desktop client, users can see the pairing/unpairing in process, then click on the OK button to close the dialog box once the process is over.
  • Restricted Calls/SMS hours and location 
    If admins restrict calls and SMS for a location and/or during a time frame, users will be notified on their Zoom client that they are unable to send SMS and place calls during restricted hours/locations.

    New Whiteboards created in a meeting use the meeting’s name as the default name of the project. The name can be edited in-meeting or afterwards as needed.
  • In-meeting Pan tool 
    The in-meeting Whiteboard experience includes a pan tool, allowing the host to move the canvas freely without unintentionally selecting and moving objects.
  • Move Whiteboard to trash in meetings 
    If a Whiteboard project is no longer needed, it can be moved to the Trash during a meeting.
  • Object and group rotation 
    Objects, or groups of objects, can be rotated during an in-meeting Whiteboard session. After clicking on the rotate icon, the option rotates, snapping to the nearest 15° increment. Holding the Shift key allows free rotation without snapping.
• Phone features
  • Receive SMS short codes 
    Users with SMS enabled can receive SMS messages from short codes. Short codes are special short-digit phone numbers typically used for ordering services or sending two-factor authentication codes.
  • Mark voicemail as unread 
    Users can mark voicemails as unread and flag them for follow up. Unread voicemails can be filtered as all or follow up.

    Account owners and admins can create Chat Etiquette policies to identify defined keywords or text patterns/regular expressions (such as account numbers) and then determine what action occurs when a policy is triggered. When a user attempts to send a message through Zoom Chat and/or in-meeting/webinar chat that triggers a Chat Etiquette policy, the user is either warned or blocked from sending the message. Chat Etiquette policies are configured at the account level, and can be activated at the account or group level. Admins can create up to 50 policies on the account. This feature requires client version 5.6.0 or higher.
  • One-time password requirement for suspicious logins 
    Users with a work email login type and who do not have two-factor authentication enabled are required to enter a one-time password, sent to their account email, when Zoom detects a suspicious login, for example, a login from a different country or device than usual, among other factors.

    When creating breakout rooms and choosing to assign participants automatically, any co-hosts will now not automatically be included in the assignments, but the host can choose to include them.

  • Webinar Backstage 
    The webinar host and other panelists can move between the backstage area, which is not visible or heard by attendees, and the live webinar area, which is visible to and heard by attendees. Panelists backstage can still hear and view the live webinar to keep an eye on the presentation and know when to rejoin. This feature requires version 5.10.0 or higher for panelists, and the host must have a Zoom Events license. This feature will not be immediately available, as it is dependent on a backend server update currently scheduled for April 9, 2022.
  • Webinar Session Branding 
    Hosts can customize the appearance of the in-webinar experience by adding a wallpaper behind the video tiles, setting a common virtual background for all panelists, and providing name tags for each panelist. This requires version 5.10.0 or higher to use and/or view, but does not require this version to join the webinar.
  • Reactions for Webinar
    Webinar Attendees can use reactions, similar to reactions in meetings. The stream of submitted reactions are displayed in the bottom-right corner of the main webinar window, visible to the host, panelists, and attendees. This can be controlled within the webinar, as well as at the Account-, Group-, and User-level settings. This requires version 5.9.6 or higher to be able to send and see reactions.
  • Hide profile pictures for unmuted or promoted attendees 
    Admins and webinar hosts can restrict the use of profile pictures for panelists and attendees when they are unmuted or promoted to a panelist. This feature requires version 5.3.2 or higher.
• Chat features
  • Hover to preview unread messages 
    When hovering on the unread message notification on a collapsed sidebar section or folder, a preview window will appear to show what hidden chat or channel has an unread message. Clicking on the preview will open that chat or channel.
  • Find and join public chat channels from Search 
    Users can search for a public channel to join from the main Search field. Channels they already are members of are visually differentiated from public channels they are not a member of. They can then preview or join the channel directly from the search results.
  • Quick actions on hover for images and files 
    Actions to share, copy, download, open, and add to emoji are more readily available when hovering your mouse over a sent image or file in Zoom Chat.

    Each file created as part of a local recording will be given a unique file name. The type of file will start the name (video, audio), followed by a string of numbers. Users will also be provided suggestions on what to rename the files, if they choose to further customize the file names.

    Scheduling on the client now supports the GMT -7 Yukon, GMT +2 Chisinau, and GMT +5:30 Colombo time zones, which were already supported when scheduling in the web portal.

  • Stop incoming video 
    Users in a meeting can easily disable all incoming video through in-meeting controls. This may be done to preserve bandwidth for shared content, or to avoid mental fatigue from viewing multiple, active video participants. The account owner and admins can enable this for use in meetings at the Account-, Group-, and User-level web settings. Once enabled through web settings, users must then enable it for use in the Desktop client's Video settings. 
  • Poll access for alternative hosts 
    If meeting hosts add alternative hosts to their meeting, they can allow alternative hosts to add or edit polls. The alternative host in the meeting will have the additional in-meeting options to add or edit a poll, which launches the web portal to make the changes.
  • Aligned separate audio tracks for local recordings 
    When recording separate audio tracks for a local recording, the audio tracks will be aligned, in that each track is in sync with each other and start at the same. Recording tracks will increase in size slightly, as extra padding will be added to each file to ensure tracks all begin at the same time.
  • Updated recording privacy disclaimer 
    The recording disclaimer has been updated to provide clearer information regarding how their data is being handled and who can access it.

  • Security settings overview 
    The host and co-host in a meeting can quickly check what security features are currently in effect for the meeting they are hosting. This information is accessible through the in-meeting encryption shield, located in the top-left corner of the meeting.
  • Participant attendance status 
    If the host has the Google or Outlook calendar integration configured, Zoom will display a list of others invited to the meeting but not yet in attendance, allowing for quick checks if everyone is in attendance yet. Their invite response (Accepted, Declined, Maybe) is listed with their name and the host can easily invite them to the meeting from the participants panel. This feature can be enabled for use in meetings at the Account-, Group-, and User-level web settings, and will initially be available only for free accounts as part of a beta.

  • Additional customization for Personal Note 
    The Personal Note can be configured to display for a specific period of time, as well as appearing above the text input box when someone is composing a message to you. For example, a user may say they are Out of office for the next few days, and that note will appear above the drafted message when someone is chatting directly with or mentioning them, warning them of the user’s current unavailability.
  • Clearer notification when converting a group-chat into a channel 
    When a multi-user chat is named, this converts the group chat into an official chat channel. The user changing the channel will be more informed of the effect of the change, and other users in the group will be notified of the changes as well, helping them locate the channel by its new name.

  • UI enhancement to phone number labels 
    When searching for phone users using the dial pad or SMS search field, users can view the associated phone number labels by clicking or tapping the right arrow icon.

  The options to push particular video layouts to webinar attendees has been moved from the Participants list to the View Options button, located in the top-right corner of the main video window.
