Release notes for Zoom Phone Appliances
Upcoming Release
Details about upcoming releases will be posted as they become available.
December 22, 2024 version 6.3.0
New and enhanced features
- Zoom Phone Appliances
- Enhancements to bulk action workflow
Account owners and admins can preselect the list of devices or confirm before applying bulk actions like app upgrades, device restarts, or binding provision templates on the Device List page under Device Management. For app upgrades, the dialog box now has clearer confirmation prompts. Restarting devices requires an additional prompt for account-wide restarts. Binding provision templates, which can change Zoom Phone Appliance behavior, now has a confirmation step. - Bulk adding Zoom Phone Appliances
When importing Zoom Phone Appliance (ZPA) devices in bulk via Zoom Device Management (ZDM), admins now receive detailed error information for any failed imports. The error report includes the specific MAC address of the device that failed to import, along with the reason for failure. - Improved visibility into Zoom Phone Appliance device issues
The Web Portal's Device Management interface now displays comprehensive error codes and status messages for Zoom Phone Appliances. Admins can quickly identify issues like OS/firmware upgrade failures, app upgrade errors, offline devices, and disconnections from device management. Details like the event timestamp, reason, platform OS version, and ZPA telemetry events are surfaced to aid troubleshooting. - Optimized dialing and merging workflows for Zoom Rooms
Users can initiate a directory search directly from the dialpad screen, reducing the number of taps required to dial out. The directory search screen now displays quick access to favorites, last dialed, and missed calls for faster dialing. When merging two calls, the system automatically merges the calls without prompting the user, streamlining the merge process. - Ignore incoming calls
Users can silence an incoming call without sending the caller to voicemail. They can tap the ignore button to stop the ringing while remaining available for other calls. The caller continues to hear ringback tones and the call routing flow proceeds normally. - Improved call history experience in Zoom Phone Appliances
Users can view the new call log data structure in the history tab. The tab displays call direction, date, timestamp, caller name or number, and additional details like missed calls and shared line information. Users can filter the history by extension or DID. Zoom Contact Center and Zoom Phone calls are visually differentiated. - Enhancements to call history filtering
Users can filter the call history tab on Zoom Phone Appliances by user extension, DID, CQ, AR, and SLG. - Allow executive assistants to choose which calendars to display on Zoom Phone Appliances
Executive assistants who are delegates for multiple executives can choose which calendars to display on their Zoom Phone Appliances. - Enhancements to restart scheduling
Account owners and admins can specify a time range for scheduling daily or weekly restarts of Zoom Phone Appliances. The time range defaults between 00:00 and 03:00 (midnight to 3am). - Centralized management of Zoom Phone Appliance settings
Admins settings for Zoom Phone Appliances now include options for Bluetooth, USB and Wifi. These settings can be enabled or disabled from the Zoom web portal. - Asset Tag option when adding or updating Zoom Phone Appliances
Account owners and admins can specify the Asset Tag when adding or updating an appliance from the Device List. - Hyperlink for Zoom Phone Appliance IP address
Administrators can access the web interface of a Zoom Phone Appliance (ZPA) device directly from the Zoom web portal. The IP address of the ZPA is displayed as a hyperlink. When clicked, a new browser tab opens, and the web interface of the device is loaded. If the administrator is not on the same network as the device, the hyperlink is inactive or displays a "Network not reachable" error message. - Support for Yealink MP2 E2 series devices
MP54, MP56, MP58 models of the Yealink MP E2 Series are now supported.

- Support post-quantum end-to-end encryption for meetings
Zoom has been upgraded to support post-quantum end-to-end encryption (PQ E2EE). PQ E2EE in Zoom meetings is designed to withstand the threat of an adversary who can capture the encrypted network traffic, hoping to acquire a quantum computer in the future and use it to decrypt the captured data. Appliances will display updated badges and visuals to indicate when PQ E2EE is active in meetings. As users update their device to version 6.1.0 or higher, all end-to-end encrypted meetings will start leveraging our latest post-quantum end-to-end encryption protocol. If PQ E2EE is unsupported by any participant's device, the meeting will default to standard end-to-end encryption (E2EE) when enabled.
