Zoom error code 124 when accessing local recording


Zoom users may experience the error “Invalid Link: You must sign in with the same Zoom account on the web to open this link. (Error Code: 124)” when opening a local recording from the Zoom web portal.


You are either not signed in to the Zoom desktop client, or you are signed in using a different email address or Zoom account.


Check which account you are signed in to, and sign in to the one that created the local recording.

  1. In the top-right corner of the Zoom web portal, click your profile picture.
  2. Take note of your email address.
  3. Open the Zoom desktop app.
  4. In the top-right corner, click your profile picture (or initials).
  5. Take note of your email address and compare it with the one you noted in the Zoom web portal in step 3.

    Note: You may need to click the Show email icon [insert icon] if it’s currently hidden.

  6. If the email addresses are different, sign out of the account that doesn’t have the local recording, and sign back in with the one you are trying to access.

  7. Return to your Local Recordings in the Zoom web portal to view the recording.

If you receive error code 124 in a different situation, submit a request to Zoom Support.
