Account owners and admins can assign client codes to calls in the call log. This makes it easier for service organizations to bill customers based on the duration of a call. For an accounting firm that bills per hour for consultations, the firm can assign a client code to a specific call to make it easier to identify the call when billing the client.

How to assign a client code using logs (admin)
After a call is finished, you can use the call log to assign a client code to the call.
Note: After assigning a client code, the code can be viewed by the associated phone user of the call.
- Sign in to the Zoom web portal.
- In the navigation menu, click Phone System Management then Logs.
- Click the Calls tab.
- In the right column, click the settings icon
, then select Client Code. - Click Confirm.
The Client Code will appear as a column. - To the far right of the call you want to assign a client code, click the more icon
, then Add Client Code. - Enter a 3 to 16 digit number, then click Save.
- (Optional) In the right-side column, click the ellipses icon ..., then click Edit Client Code to change the client code, then click Save.
How to assign a client code using call history (phone user)
Note: After assigning a client code, the code can be viewed or edited in the call log by Zoom Phone admins.
- Sign in to the Zoom web portal.
- Click Phone.
- Click the History tab.
- In the right-side column, click the ellipses icon ..., then click Add Client Code.
- Enter a 3 to 16 digit number.
- Click Save.
- (Optional) In the right-side column, click the ellipses icon ..., then click Edit Client Code to change the client code, or click Delete to delete it.
How to assign a client code when placing a call (phone user)
Note: After assigning a client code, the code can be viewed and edited in the call logs by Zoom Phone admins.
- Sign in to the Zoom client.
- Click the Phone tab.
- On the keypad, dial the client code, followed by an asterisk *, then the phone number.
For example, if your client code is 6767 and you want to dial 650 555 1234, you would dial 6767*6505551234
