Adding phone dial-in contacts

Account owners and admins can create a list of phone dial-in contacts that can dial in to a Zoom meeting and have their name displayed in the participants list (instead of their phone number). They will be displayed as a guest participant:

You can manually add a contact, or you can import a CSV file containing several names and numbers.

Note: This feature needs to be enabled on your account by Zoom.

Importing phone dial-in contacts using a CSV file

  1. Create a CSV file with the following data:
    • Column 1 (display name): The contact's name that's displayed to other meeting participants.
    • Column 2 (phone number): The contact's phone number that consists of the following components. Do not insert a plus sign (+) or dashes (-). For example, enter 14081231234 to specify the number +1 (408) 123-1234
      • Country code
      • Area code
      • Phone number
    • Note:
      • You can duplicate the contact's display name if you want to assign several numbers to that contact. However, you can't duplicate phone numbers. Each phone number can only belong to one contact.
      • You do not need to enter column headings.
      • Save the file as a CSV (comma delimited) file.
      • Do not use commas in the display name field. This will prevent the CSV file from being recognized.
  2. Sign in to the Zoom web portal.
  3. In the navigation panel, click Account Management then Phone Dial-in Contacts.
  4. Click Import.
  5. Select Keep both, click Upload, then double-click the CSV file you created.
Note: After importing is complete, you may need to reload the page to view the imported contacts.

Updating phone numbers for existing phone dial-in contacts using a CSV file

You can update the phone numbers assigned to existing dial-in contacts.

Note: You can't use a CSV file to edit the name of dial-in contacts. To edit a contact's name, you have to manually edit an existing contact.

  1. Sign in to the Zoom web portal.
  2. In the navigation panel, click Account Management then Phone Dial-in Contacts.
  3. Click Export to CSV file to export current phone dial-in contacts as a CSV file.
  4. Open the CSV file using spreadsheet software like Microsoft Excel.
  5. Edit the second column to change the phone numbers assigned to contacts, then save the file.
Note: Don't edit the first column (contact name). This will cause an error when you try to upload the CSV file.
  6. In the Phone Dial-in Contacts page, click Import, then select Update the numbers with new values on CSV.
  7. Click Upload and double-click the CSV file you edited.
Note: After importing is complete, you may need to reload the page to view the updated contacts.
